After living in Holland for a few years I decided to get into the history of the town and the first mayor. Had a wonderful tour of the Cappon house and the Settlers house. I must note though that I noticed another view that someone posted about the Settlers house being the house that the Cappons first inhabited. That is inaccurate. In the very beginning of the tour, the tour guide tells you how the Cappons previous house had been ruined in the fire of 1871. Also when you go to the Settlers house there is a list of all of the pervious owners of the house. The Cappon family is not on the list. The Holland Museum and Cappon and Settlers House are definitely worth a visit.

We got a tour of the settler house where the family started and the house where they ended with being the first Mayor of the town. The houses are fully furnished with mostly original pieces. You get a great idea of how the family lived back then.
