Great Time. Yes, its small, but then its easy to see it all. The Coast Guard Rescue boats were of interest, but the several operating boats and the chance to take a ride on Lake Michigan or the Black River were nice. The Sloop, Friends Good Will, we enjoyed watching it sail, really motored in and out of harbor (sailed on the open lake). Then the electric boat of the 1930s and 40s took a nice cruise of South Havens harbor and up the Black River.

We tried this museum to burn some time until lunch. It was a lot better than expected. We had a chance to get on the ship and had a personal tour with the captain. Our six year old loved it and it was very educational. We didnt do the boat tour because we just missed it and the next one wasnt for another hour and a half. Even the little museum area had a lot of great information about the Great Lakes and local ship wrecks.

The Mariners Museum in South Haven offers three boat tours, fully restored Coast Guard rescue boats and an excellent exhibit of Lake Michigan during WW II. Boat tours on Exact replica (topside) of an 1810 vessel that sailed the Great Lakes and their other historic boats are fun. The two hour sunset tour tickets to sail on it are only $42 each and includes Museum entrance!

Hands on history! I am wholly impressed by the volunteers who teach and assist with a professionalism that can only be a result of their love for the maritime history planted right on the beach of South Haven. Sail with them on one of the schooners replicated from the War of 1812. Unforgettable!

Nice little place preserves history of shipwrecks on the Great Lakes. Also, has boats for excursions. I especially liked the "Friends Good Will", a single masted sloop replica.

Waste of time and money. No one shared any information about museum or visiting ships. Basically you had to read everything and if you have questions, too bad.

Went there to see the Nina and the Pinta. The US Life Saving Service display was great, and the kids had fun in the commercial fishing tug.
