Nice place to see quite amount of various varieties of tulip flowers. Evening time most of the flowers are withered due to hot weather, I would suggest better to visit this place before noon during 1st or 2nd of tulip festival. There is a parking lot near windmill area, better drive directly. If you would have parked some where outside, no need to walk instead use free dropping service. They will pickup and drop(both directions) from the entrance to windmill(almost a mile distance). They are charging $9 for adult and $5 for youth(3 years above), free for less than 3 years old to visit windmill. Windmill will be closed at 6 pm. After 6 pm temperature is getting cold due to lake effect, better take coats(especially for kids and seniors) No proper rest room facility!!

I came in early June during a weekday. Many tour buses stop here. Admission price is less than $10 a person. If youre a resident of Holland, Michigan, then you can come for free with your ID. One of the main attractions is the tulips, but thats only in May. I came in June, so there werent any tulips left. The windmill is historic and you can actually go inside and climb up to the top. Tours are offered. My tour guide was awesome. She was patient, funny, and genuine. They actually use the windmill on a daily basis to generate flour, which you can buy in the gift shop. Life size games such as checkers can be seen in one of the areas. Theres also a greenhouse where unique plants are held. Everything is well-maintained.

Had a family wedding here recently and was very impressed with the atmosphere. The gardens are truly beautiful and the windmills are unbelievably huge. I really enjoyed reading about the history of the land and windmills in the pictures hung in the building that had the restrooms for our reception. The crew staffing our reception did an admirable job, however the kegs of beer were tapped with hand pumps, so the poor solo bartender had a hell of a time getting the beer pouring as we came in after the ceremony. If weddings are regular here, the venue should consider at least investing in a draught cooler and CO2 to help things run more smoothly.

We stopped by on a Friday afternoon before hitting the road back to Chicago. Its not too bad of a stop and relax place. They have a few shops and yes they do sell wooden shoes. They have a carousel ride but on slow days you do have to find someone to run it for you. They have a video presentation that take about 20 minutes or so. There is also an organ, drawbridge and of course the only authentic Dutch Windmill in the U.S. There are dance demonstrations done at the windmill as well as a tour that takes you to the top and back down.

A beautiful monument of sorts in a nicely maintained garden at charges you $9 to enter but worth every penny. Theres the five storied windmill, a museum, a wedding hall, a carousel for kids and a huge organ with performances every half hour or so. The windmill has apparently witnessed the world war and there are bullet holes in the blades and a few beams. Here are a few pictures from our visit.

Not a huge farm of tulips .. Close to 3 or acres only is planted rows.. Too crowded .. No parking nearby. Bestplaace to park is the German village and bus takes you to the park for free.. Crowds of kids all braking and waking across the planted rows destroying the bulbs. If there was a person telling ppl monitor the ppl would u have been better.. Over all decent experience to see tulips..

We tried to visit on the first day of "shoulder season" and about 3 hours before closing. No reduced admission rate for late arrival. It appeared from the gate that it was already rolled up for the season. Access to gift shop-only was denied. It is inside the fenced boundary. Ticket taker indicated people abused a 20 minute pass to the gift shop so they cancelled the pass.

visited this Monday afternoon, walked from downtown. i was in awe of the flowers, all of the Dutch heritage, all of the Netherlands flags. reading about the town and the windmill. the story of how its here and the windmills in WWII nearly brought me to tears, really enjoyed my time here and I suggest this to anyone that values and cares for old culture.

Well kept grounds and open environment. Loved that you can walk around and enjoy the great landscaping and not have do not enter signs everywhere. The windmill was very interesting and so cool to see bullet holes from WWII in the old blades. Best part is that you can try on wooden clogs and do a jig. Careful if you have weak ankles, not great support...

This place was awesome! This is a must-see if youre visiting Holland. They explain the area to you once you enter, then youre free to roam. They host weddings also. When you visit the actual windmill, they give tours at the top and bottom of every hour. They have stallions there, a nice bridge, and a souvenir shop. We spent almost two hours there.

This is a good place for families. The tour of the windmill was worth it especially if you had kids because you got to learn about the milling process and equipment as well as the windmill itself. There were a few horses also and a trail to walk on also with a bridge. There was a park too. Overall a really good place for children.

What a unique hidden dutch village in Holland, MI. I went for the first time since I was 5 years old this past week. You are able to walk inside an authentic windmill, hundreds if not thousands of tulips everywhere, and a small little village with buildings that are authentic to a real dutch village. Will definitely go back soon.

Cute place to spend an hour or so, but overpriced and seems more geared towards their private events rather than visitors. Attractions are windmill, organ, shop, carousel, movie and greenhouse, which are timed just right to run through in an hour. The windmill tour was interesting but given in a very boring and rushed manner.

Very unique place. Buy the combo pass and visit Nelis Dutch Village as well. Definitely a good day. We are from Orlando and visit theme parks frequently. The combination of these two places is unique enough that my wife, our 4 kids (ages 5 to 16) and myself all had a great time. The windmill tour is well worth it.

I really enjoyed my time spent on the island. I enjoy history so being able to tour a 200+ year old windmill that originally came from The Netherlands was very exciting for me. Beautiful flowers and a welcoming atmosphere made the day that much nicer. Will have to visit again during the Tulip Festival in May.

A little expensive, but a very nice gardens and heritage education area. Possible location for weddings with many fantastic picture backdrops based on the time of year. If youre around, you should really stop-by for a few hours. Bring a picnic and make your experience that much better.

Wonderfully Dutch! Visited on a Sunday morning. Did the tour through the mill, well worth it! The gardens are a great replica of the Netherlands. The staff was very friendly and informative. Had a conversation with Thea. As a Dutch native it brought a smile to my face!
