My visit to the Motor Speedway was with the sole purpose of seeing the museum. Because of congestion, I spent $10 to park outside the speedway. Then I spent $15 to get inside the speedway, and then a further $10 for the museum admission. That kind of perturbed me, but I brushed it off. So, was it worth it? Well, seeing many of the previous champion cars, as well as some other vehicles and artifacts, was fascinating. However, this museum clearly lacks some basic expertise when it comes to putting a museum together. For one thing, there is an additional showroom down the hall past the restrooms and around the corner in the back. Was there any sign indicating it? Nope. I bet 15-20% of visitors who pay the $10 to see this museum leave without ever having been aware of it. Theres a little theater in the museum, newly renovated apparently. So what did they choose to play in this cinema? A 3-minute eulogy of the speedway with almost no educational substance. Couldnt they put together something about the speedways history? Its construction? The history of the racecars designs? Some details about the speedways current operation? Apparently not. But if you enjoy watching a glorified commercial, this may entertain you. All-in-all, I think whether you regard the >=$25 it takes to see the museum as worth it depends on how big of a racing buff you are.

Dont miss going to the second floor and seeing the photo archives. Michael is a gentleman and he can direct you to a specific year, car, driver...whatever that you may have an interest in and you can purchase pictures that will blow your mind! I was specifically looking for the 1939 & 40 winner...a Maserati driven by Wilbur Shaw. Michael helped me find the most incredible pictures of the car and Mr Shaw that are now proudly displayed on my "Maserati wall" in my shop.

Nice display of the history of Indy racing. Guides who are big fans and locals give tours. The most interesting part is looking at the cars of the car lovers out in the parking lot! Today was Corvette day. The diversity if the people in racing history was minimal. I cant believe people race on motorcycles. Isnt a wreck instant death...so interesting this culture of car enthusiasts.

As a life long IMS and IndyCar fan, I was a bit embarrassed when I realized I had never been to the museum. Museum entrance and a bus tour of the grounds and track was only $20 - highly recommend taking the tour as you get to kiss the bricks. I wish there was more modern cars in the museum as it was pretty focused on the past. For the price, this is a must see for anyone.

Im not the biggest fan of Nascar / Indy, but this museum was definitely worth visiting. Lots of classic and new cars, plus enough information to get a good feeling of the sport and this monumental race track! Too bad it was raining really, really hard, so we couldnt do a tour. Would have been very interesting!

If you love cars and racing this is a great museum. We were there on a day when you could take a "kiss the bricks" tour. We got to take a lap around the track while hearing about the history of the track and finish it off by "kissing the bricks" at the finish line like the winner of the race.

Awesome place for amazing race history. I went on the VIP tour when I was here. It was very affordable and there was quite a bit to do. The museum has a great collection of race cars and they have tours that take you out onto the racetrack and up to the top of the Pagoda. It was fantastic.

Step back in time then step forward to today. The winning vehicle of the first ever Indy 500 is there with vehicles from years after. MotoGP has some bikes there too. Some nice trophies from around the world are on display. Its nearly a case of, if its raced at Indy, its here!

great collection of old cars but no history of old race cars or the track. Not many race cars to see. Not worth the $10 to see them. Kiss the bricks ride on the track was worth the $10. Got to see the track up close and visit start / finish line and touch the old bricks.

This is an older track. If you love Daytona you will be disappointed as it doesnt have much but three rooms of cars and two shops to purchase souvenirs that are expense! Its $10 to get in an additional $10 to watch a car drive around the track. Not much else.

A small, compact, museum for Indy and racing lovers. Rich in history, original cars and some amazing volunteer guides who provided us a fantastic overview of the speedway. Something any racing will much appreciate.

Great place to see racing history. Make sure you have at least 4 hours available on site. There is a great deal to see and read about. It is mostly Indy, but there are many other important race cars also.

Cool but kind of boring. Make sure you schedule to see an event at the racetrack and then see the museum afterwards.

Spend a couple hours in there. Worth the price of admission easily just for the aura these old machines emanate.
