I want to say its not okay, this theater, that is. But, I like their pricing policy and I like watching big screen productions on a theater screen. Why do I dislike the Holland 8? First, it is dirty from the first step you take to enter the theater. What is that brown, tobacco looking crude on the back side of the door release mechanisms on the front door? There are not a lot of people attending the matinees, so I have pretty much choice of seats, but I notice the choice seats (2/3 from the front and center) are disgustingly filthy. Additionally, the plastic arm rests come off if you touch them incorrectly. Add to that, the most sought after seats have seen their days when it comes to foam cushioning. The good news is that all of these are easily fixable! Someone can clean in places management doesnt check (brown tobacco stained doors). The less used seats can be exchanged for the more used seats. The used seats though past their cushion prime can be cleaned with a reputable cleaning firm. Oh, from a movie enthusiasts perspective, dont let great movies escape your venue. I was sadly disappointed you did not play, "Bridge of Spies" and "Steve Jobs" recently. Ill catch them on dvd, but I would have enjoyed them more on your good functioning screens and sound system. OK, this is an update, 8/12/16. I went to a 1:00 pm showing of "Petes Dragon" and I had to leave. Why, you might ask. It was one of the large auditoriums. It was 1/3 full. The amount of human humidity in the room was suffocating. The arm rests on the theater chairs were damp. I will continue to use this obviously cheap large screen venue, but I will plan to do so on largely underpopulated days. I truly hope AMC, which has recently become the single largest theater chain in the country, will do something about the fallen state of this theater.

I attended an afternoon showing on 8-18-14. First, the pluses. The price for an afternoon ticket was very reasonable and the cheapest around for that time of day. The staff member that served us was very friendly and helpful, despite being there all by herself (at least in the public front). The movie itself played fine on the big screen, no sound problems or other issues. Unfortunately, there were a few big negatives. First, the concessions were not worth the money I paid for them. The popcorn was just okay...Ive had better, but Ive also had worse. The pop, though, just did not taste right. At first I thought it was just the one flavor I had (diet), so I went back and asked for regular instead. The staff member readily exchanged my drink with no hassle, but the regular wasnt much of an improvement. I wanted to get back to my movie, though, and not give the girl behind the counter any more grief, so I accepted the drink. I figured maybe it was just me, but after talking to my brother (who was also in attendance) I discovered his flavor was "off" as well. The other negative was the smell in theater 8. It hits you as soon as you enter; it was a like a musty, bad BO kind of smell. Since there was only one other patron there, it was definitely the room itself. Thankfully we got used to it pretty quickly and it failed to bother us after a few minutes.

Went to see Oz the Great and Powerful last night. They seemed to have problems with previews as video sources seemed to over lap each other. A long promo was run with audio but no video. Suddenly the feature film just started with no opening credits so I have no idea how much of the beginning we missed. Missing the opening of the film means missing the establishment shot of location and characters. Also, IMDB writes about the clever opening credits which of course we didnt see. During the screening we had some kind of time counter running in the lower right hand corner of the screen twice and there were also two occasions when images popped up on the screen including a screen of the AMC logo and another showing some kind of sock puppet. This is not what I expect when my wife and I spend $18 to see a film.

Absolutely disgusting!! Filthy, filthy, nasty filthy! From the entry doors, to the bathrooms, to the auditoriums... everything is in need of being cleaned! Our auditorium smelled like a wet, musty basement so bad that it was difficult to breathe and my children and I all left with headaches. I contacted management and was told, so sorry for your experience, our building is old. UNACCEPTABLE...old and lack of being maintained are two TOTALLY different things! We will NOT be back, although the matinee prices are great, I will not subdue my family to the necessity to sanitize when we leave!! The only reason I gave it 1 star is because I cant give ZERO!!

Ive gone to this theatre on three occasions in the last 9 months and the service has become increasingly worse per visit. Projection blurred; sound drop-offs; messy auditoriums are among the many issues wrong with this venue. Ive twice complained to AMC corporate but my comments are re-directed to the theatre manager Daniel Kelly who is one of the most incompetent supervisors dealing with customer service. Additionally, after several communication methods, I found him to be one of the biggest fabricators of untruths to serve in such a capacity. Why this person is still employed at all is a mystery. DO NOT ATTEND THIS CINEPLEX!

I arrived at the theatre to watch power rangers. At about a half hour past when the movie had to start, they cancelled the showing of the film. Star theater now owes me one of their popcorn makers. This is outrageous. Give me a popcorn maker. I will not let up until I get a popcorn maker. I will wait for a popcorn maker fron star theaters. Popcorn maker.

I hadnt been to this theater in a very long time. Happened to have a gift card to it so I went last night. Could not believe the prices of the food! $9 for a large popcorn! And you only get refills if you buy the large and are part of their "stubs" reward program. I will not be returning to this theater. Holland 7 will definitely be getting my business.

Part of the experience of going to the big theater is the seeds the big screen at High Point. Went to the 7 oclock movie this week to see Dunkirk and was disappointed when I came out at eight for a refill and popcorn in the machines were shut down and theres no more popcorn at that price that is totally on acceptable very very very disappointed.

Its a movie theater, what more do want?? They just reduced ticket prices which is great, but theaters dont make money off of tickets, their money is made from concessions. Concessions are par for the course, nothing that cant be found elsewhere. Theater is clean and facilities are in good shape.
