i dont recommend it because my brother left his wallet there and we went to go pick it up 3-4 days later and they only gave us the wallet back and not the money. and some of that was his birthday money, some was from working really hard to earn it, and the rest was some money that his grandfather had given him from a different country.so now he his is very sad because all of his hard work was stolen and he is because the money his grand father had given him was really special to him. so that is why we gave North and IMAX from Grand Rapids a zero and we would not recommend people there either. no lo recomiendo porque mi hermano dejó su billetera allí y fuimos a ir recogerlo 3-4 días más tarde y sólo nos dieron la billetera y no el dinero. y algo de eso era su dinero de cumpleaños, algunos eran de trabajar muy duro para ganarlo, y el resto era algo de dinero que su abuelo le había dado de un país diferente. Así que ahora él está muy triste porque todo su trabajo duro fue robado y es porque el dinero que su abuelo le había dado era realmente especial para él. así que es por eso que nos dieron North y IMAX de Grand Rapids un cero y no recomendaría gente allí.

Although historically one of my favorite cinemas in town their new "pick your seat when you buy your tickets" feature greatly dampens the average movie experience. To be fair its not entirely Celebration Cinemas fault although Ive sat in too many movies there where the theater was half full and yet everyone huddled together - right next to each other - in the middle seats. Gone are the days of "movie etiquette" when you left an empty seat between you and the stranger next to you (with the exception of sold out shows). Now everyone sits so close you feel entirely cramped. The ticket staff continue to tell me that most guests complain about the "pick your seat" mandate although it doesnt appear that anyone outside of the ticket line seems to care as no changes have been forthcoming. My recommendation - pick a seat on an aisle and deal stay away from the middle (best seats) unless you enjoy sitting nestled closely to a stranger for the entire movie.

Before I give any opinion on this theater I should say that I am one of the cynics who started watching movies when he was 15 when they were $6 and now they are double that. In that time span I saw the prices go up without any new amenities or conveniences being added. With that being said, I have been very pleasantly surprised with the uptick in comfort and ease in purchasing and getting the tickets that Celebration Cinema has added. The kiosk that you can use to either purchase tickets faster or pick up tickets ordered online is extremely useful and an advancement that I like to see. I also love the new reclining seats that they added into some of the theaters and that I am willing to pay more for. And lastly, the addition for seat reservation online is wonderful as well as you are guaranteed sitting next to the person you want to. Five stars not given just because of the still crazy high price of food.

This is a fairly good cinema. Crowd sizes are standard. It has the only IMAX screen (that I know of) in town, and has reserved seating. The confectionary prices are routine for what youd expect in a cinema. It has 2 main entrances, which is convenient. Even at the busiest of times there is usually adequate parking. For better or worse they have a newly installed octagonal-style bar on one side of the main foyer, which is quite busy even early in the evening (for instance, 7pm showing). Im not sure if I like this, as my friends and I routinely bring young children to later shows on the weekend. There have been however, ZERO problems thus far and therefore I will keep my skepticism in check. I will update this post if this changes. Overall, its a good place to bring your family/date with friendly service, usually efficient, clean theatres with good screen quality and exceptional sound. Enjoy!

Lines are rarely long due to proper show time intervals. There are also automated credit card kiosks if youre in a real hurry. Popcorn is always fresh and tasty. Decent portions for the price and size upgrades for a nominal price, so you arent stuck buying only package defined items. They offer free Kernal Seasons popcorn seasonings, which is a huge plus. Im in a wheelchair and really appreciate their new handicap seating, with recliner style chairs for my companion. Ive never been disappointed here and the one or two times Ive had a problem finding handicap seating in a show was my own fault for not getting there early and they refunded the price of the tickets as well as our concession purchases. So, while being disappointed in the fact that I couldnt see the movie we wanted, I cant blame the theater and they made sure I didnt spend money for nothing. Customer service is top notch!

The theater had a great atmosphere until we got to the ticketing line theater seating. We paid ahead and the lines were still outrageous. If you are a big person or have wide shoulders like my husband be prepared to share your seat with someone else. I understand that people who chose seats inside has to go pass the people who bought tickets for the end seats. That wasnt my issue my issue was the people behind us talked the entire time through the he movie and reeked of cigarettes and the people next to us talked and had there phones out. I couldnt understand what was going on because of those 2 different sets of people. I know the theater doesnt control adults and all but it wasnt exactly the experience I was looking for when I went. Other that that the movie of what I could understand was great. Im not sure if I visited again I would go back.

While I generally like going to AMC on Alpine for great seating and an unbeatable matinee price, I still love Celebration Cinema. The sound in theaters here is generally the best around town and if you want the full experience, look no further than the IMAX, the only 3D experience worth paying for in my opinion. (Seriously, every Read-D 3D movie Ive seen had issues with the 3D projection that ruined the experience.) The best part is everything around the theater from restaurants to shops and the like. I particularly love how they have installed a bar in the front circular hall even though I have time that day to set for a beer. I could definitely see myself going early to the movies to have a pint before the show starts. Just an all around great experience here.

As much as I want to hold the prices against Celebration, its the unfortunate standard for cinemas in Grand Rapids. They have a typically selection of main stream movies, but also do an exceptional job of offering alternative programming and unique events (from sensory safe movies, to midnight movies, to the Founders Film series)! Their theaters are typically clean and accessible, with great seating choices. The staff are always responsive and courteous. The food/snacks is priced to an extreme, with standard quality. One thing of note: their rewards program is surprisingly generous, and its a great (and free) perk for frequent guests.
