I live in Clarkston and from now on will be driving down to either Royal Oak or Birmingham to an Emagine theater. The things I dislike about this theater that I havent encountered at an Emagine theater: - People using their phones to take pictures of the screen an tweet/post on facebook/email said pictures....during the movie (yes, this actually happened today with a guy in the front row so the screen lit up the whole place) - Seats are very uncomfortable. Im 61" and if there is somebody in the seat in front of me, I have to put my knees to the side. All in all, theyre just super out-dated. The ticket prices have continued to go up but the facilities are still stuck in $5.00 movie territory. - There were 30 minutes of previews. I generally like previews, but they just went on and on and I just wanted to watch the movie that I paid to see. The Emagine tickets are cheaper and you get top notch facilities, leather recliners with 3-4 of foot clearance and arm rests that you dont have to fight over. The one person that I did deal with at AMC who took our tickets was very nice and it was easy to buy them online and bring the printout in...but of course that should be easy. So really, the experience could be A LOT better and even cheaper, but it isnt. With that, I will opt to drive a little bit farther for a much better experience.

We went to Great Lakes Crossing Outlets as many families do to dine, shop and catch a movie on a Friday night. We purchased 2 adult and 2 children tickets to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens at 8:30pm. When the movie got out, we tried to re-enter to mall (the metal gates were down) to return to our vehicle parked by L&T outlet. AMC manager, Shawn Foisy, stated it is theater policy that we exit via the AMC parking lot and walk back to our car as the theater was "closed" and the gates could not be raised. AMC/mall security, Dave Lanzon, was even less helpful ensuring our safety. I had to personally call the Auburn Hills Police Department who were nothing less than sympathetic and kind and offered a police escort for my family to safely return to our vehicle that was located on the other side of the mall. Clearly our safety was the furthest thing from AMCs or mall securitys minds. The ticket counter is located in the mall & I would have liked prior knowledge of this policy as it was not known to us at the time of purchase. The theater mgmt had no regard in the slightest for the safety of my family. I will never return to this theater again.

My wife and I were doing some shopping at the mall, and wanted to go see a movie. Since this theater was right there we decided to give it a shot (we normally go to MJR) The first thing we noticed is that they have no ticket pricing deal for shows before 6 pm like MJR. So the tickets were $10 a piece which is average so that was fine, but then we went to the concession stand to get popcorn and a large popcorn was $8 and you get no free refill like you do at MJR so the popcorn is $2 more but you get no refill, it gets better, we asked if they had seasoning for the popcorn like MJR has for free, and they said that they have the seasoning for sale 50 cents for each little mini shaker or seasoning. So to re cap we paid 8$ for a large popcorn as opposed to $6 and still were expected to pay for seasoning. Then the real kicker is we get into the actual theater to sit and watch the movie and the seats look like they are from 1980 and are dirty and sticky AND the popcorn was stale. In closing we will not be going to any theater other than MJR from now on. Its obvious that this theater cares only about profit.

Treated my daughter and my mom to a 3:15 showing of Petes Dragon 3D. Paid $12.49 for adults (each) plus $10.99. Ordered 2 drinks and 2 candies( way overpriced). Went to gentleman taking tickets, told us to go to theater 12. Never gave up 3D viewing glasses. Went back out to ticket taker who just pointed to a bin of glasses. Went back into 12. Theater was humid and hot. Went out to customer service who told me it would be corrected. 20 minutes later went back out to same guy who claimed it was turned down. I have sweat fogging up my glasses. My daughter says her glasses kept falling down. Went back to customer service counter. We told ticket taker should of handed her the correct pair. No apologies. I saw very little of the movie. Customer service did not properly address just concerns. Wish I could get a redo to make the family memories better. We live in Houghton Lake and grandma lives in Howell.

Needs to be better maintained. Hi priced concession items , but not hi quality concessions. Everything is charged for double what its worth. Bathrooms are disgusting, fountain drink area is disgusting. Fake butter and salt is only option to put on popcorn. Any flavorings are highly over charged. Ive been to other theaters that have a variety of flavor salts and sauces to put on your popcorn and its FREE with purchase of popcorn. Ticket prices are over priced. Theater itself is old and uncomfortable. Obviously the money they saved by cutting workers and putting in automated ticket kiosk , wasnt spent with any other updates. I hope with enough reviews this place will get the hint but its highly doubted. Definitely wouldnt recommend spending your hard-earned money here. Need proof, check pictures below

I would give no stars if I could. The place is disgusting. Trash everywhere, popcorn everywhere, its as if no one works there or something. The seats were filthy. I was afraid I was going to get dirty as they all were so old and nasty. After the movie, every single trash can was filled and overflowing with trash that I had to throw away my trash outside as I didnt want to throw it on the floor like everyone else had done. The price for a medium popcorn and large ICEE was $14 just for me. That is ridiculous to pay for old popcorn that after finding a long hair in I threw out. I will NEVER return to this awful, horribly managed, filthy, old disgusting theater again. Never, ever, ever, ever, return. Yuck.

It wasnt terrible but wasnt good. The automated ticket sales center was on the fritz when we tried getting tickets, had to run to the front to buy tickets where there was a line of a dozen people ahead and one cashier! Seriously? What was guest services doing that they couldnt Help G in ticket sales to get people their movie tickets a tad faster. We got there just in time to see the beginning credits and ended up missing the beginning of our movie. We havent been to an AMC Theater for a long time and now I know why we stopped movie viewing here. Thanks for the cup of cookies that normally cost $1.00 in stores but was $4.49 at your consession stands LOL

Poop hole. The place is filthy. Your feet stick to the floor in the movie, in the main lobby, in the bathroom. Anyone ever heard of a mop? The service is horrible, and everything is way over priced. Bad of candy $4.99, regular size water, $3.99. No one working there cares about anything. Everything is self serve, get your own candy and get your own drinks. What are we paying for??? I will never go there again when the are so many other choices around. The theaters in Grand Blanc, Lapeer, Waterford and Oxford both have so much more to offer.
