My friend and I got offered these tickets by these nice ladies who bought extra tickets. We thought why not, maybe well learn something. At the first stop, people in our group got excited and started chatting until the rest of the group caught up. And instead of asking politely for us to quite down she goes off and tells us we need to have respect when she is talking we are not to and we need to show respect. I understand the need for respect but respect is earned and starting your tour off like that is not going to help you receive respect. Through out the 40 min of the tour that we stayed for...she was overly opinionated and shared a lot of useless personal information, like where she lived. In addition she shared some opinions that were disrespectful (ironic) to the city that she was touring about. She was upset about the new limitations about where microphones could and could not be used because of city complaints and she made sure we knew how she felt. Dont even get me started about her attire. This is a well known city for tourists especially in the month of October. Im not saying you need to be dressed up in costume or anything. But she wore sweatpants that said Gryffindor and a sweatshirt with her hair pulled up in a mess. The only way I could describe her is she looked hungover. Her demeanor and presentation was also a huge issue with me. She continuously paced around. This issue can be solved easily with a course in public speaking class that we all had to take in college. She continuously paced and avoided eye contact, making it distracting and difficult to listen to her (but not like I wanted to listen to her over opinionated thoughts). I believe the way you present yourself, the way you dress, the way you hold yourself, would help you receive the respect that you oh so desire. After 40 minutes of gibberish talked at us. We decided to leave and was thankful we did not spend a single penny on this activity.

A friend and I decided to visit Salem for Halloween. While searching for fun things to do we found the Salem Historical Tours. Since I was new to Salem the Salem 101 tour looked interesting and was available for that weekend. We also signed up for the Haunted footsteps tour which was later in the evening for that same day. The Salem 101 was informative and interesting, but then my friend and I also love history. We found the tour manageable for a wide group of age ranges and the guide did have quite a bit of information that he shared in a polite and professional manner. If you want to know Salems history, not just a focus on the witch trials, then this is the first place to go. The Haunted Footsteps Tour was later that same night and again we were pleased with the tour and the guide. This was a very different tour from the earlier one but enjoyable with a more playful spirit considering the tour took place on Halloween. The history does overlap in areas but not enough to make the tour boring by any means. Our Guide Bob was awesome. Bob showed up dressed in costume as the grim reaper and led us through the crowded streets of Salem showing us some of the most haunted places in the area. The stories were creepy and thoughtful and the group enjoyed every minute. And surprisingly there were stops on the tour that did give you goosebumps. As for our guide Bob his story telling style and sense of humor made the night one to remember. Thanks Bob and we give this tour company two thumbs up!

Went with several friends and we all agreed that the best part of the tour, had nothing to do with the tour itself. The guide back-pedaled often in his story-telling, which ruined the mood he was attempting to set and made us question the accuracy of the events he was describing. He also checked his watch often, which if it was once or twice to see if we could fit in another stop would be ok, but instead it made the tour feel rushed, or as if we were a bother. We also had a large group (40 people or so?), with some senior citizens who struggled to keep up and made it known at the first stop, yet we continued at a brisk pace between stops. Another tour guide may have been better, as this one felt like he was new to the job. And if youre curious as to our two favorite things... 1 was a man dressed as Jason from the Halloween movies standing eerily at the end of an alley and 2 was someone who we assumed was a local upset with all the tourists in Salem yelling "F--- Halloween!" while crossing the street. For reference, Ive attended a trolley ghost tour in Boston, along with a haunted Boston harbor cruise and a walking tour of Nantucket. All 3 featured stories that were much better told and set the mood while remaining informative of the history of the town.

We took the ghost tour from this company last night and it was awful. Bob, the guide, was repetitive with one story after another of how he saw a ghost in the place we were visiting. He wasnt funny, he wasnt interesting, and most importantly this stupid rambling carried almost no history - we could have been anywhere in the world and his shtick could have worked. But we werent we were in Salem, hoping to learn some interesting history in a fun and clever way. Dont do this tour - there are many others to choose from and it is hard to imagine how even the worst of them wouldnt be better. We have done another tour in Salem in the past and it was wonderful. (I wish I could say who it was with but I dont remember) This was a waste of money and time, I feel disappointed to have brought my guests to this on their last night of visiting MA - we were hoping to steep ourselves in the unique history and stories of Salem but we got a guy telling generic ghost stories about his own "experiences" and he didnt even manage to do that in a fun or entertaining way.

This company offers 5 tours: Salem 101:General History Tour, Grave Matters Cemetery Tour, Midday Ghost Tour, 1692 Witchcraft Walk and Haunted Footsteps Ghost Tour. Each one right after the other - about half hr apart. My boyfriend and I participated in 3 tours - Grave Matters Cemetery Tour & Midday Ghost Tour. I must say our tour guides Nick and Bob were both great and extremely accommodating. I actually booked the tours for the wrong date and they were super nice and allowed us to continue on w our tour, the day we were there. We learned so much and I can only imagine how fun Salem must be during October. Every tour spoke about something different and during the tour, they allowed us to take our time to take pictures and answered any questions the group had. Please take a tour w this company, theyre informative, funny and most importantly, the information they relay is not repetitive so youre learning something different on every tour.

Salems name is synonymous with the witch trials. However, taking this tour taught me that they were only the tip of the paranormal iceberg. From purported ghost sightings to historical events, our guide was well-informed, friendly, and humorous. He was also patient and willing to answer the groups questions. I didnt just learn a lot about supposed supernatural events, but also about local history. I dont believe in ghosts, but I do believe that this tour was a great time. Id go again, and Id definitely recommend it. The tale of the Joshua Ward house was particularly freaky. Check it out!
