Seriously the worst. Disgustingly unclean. Employees that couldnt possibly do less with more attitude. All bathrooms were covered with toilet paper and paper towels that remained even after a 2+ hour movie. Main lobby and all lounges absolutely covered with trash. Not a single table wiped, anywhere. EVERY trash bin on the premises was overflowing, while "workers" walked around carrying dust pans and brooms like they were an extra in a movie about pretending to work. There were Wrappers, used napkins and food ground into the carpet of nearly every square foot of this place, yet the only employees doing anything are chasing you down to take a "Survey About Movies". Want candy and real food? Prepare to wait in 2 -3 separate 20 min lines while half of the registers sit closed, while a sea of staff float around like amoeba in the background, imitating something that is supposed to vaguely approximate an assembly line . Want just a Nathans hotdog? Prepare to be forced to wait in a single line for all vendors and watch a completely vacant register at Nathans go unused for the 20 minutes you waited in in line staring at it. Want to escape by grabbing an adult beverage? Get told there is a wait for tables at the bar area while 4 tables sit unused, but not cleared. Look and see the bus staff playing grab ass and refusing to work at all. Come back 30 minutes later to see the very same 4 tables, still not cleared, and the same disgusting pile of dishes piled end of the bar, next to two busboys talking. As far as I can tell, the only person working in this entire place, was a single lone bartender among a gaggle of bartenders and busers who basically just waddled around, looking confused about where they even were, while he ran laps trying to pick up their slack. I wish I got his name, because this guy should be promoted. He hustled non stop while every other employee was busy waddling in circles and joking around. I can only say that my roommate thought he looked vaguely like a sober Rider Strong. Want 3D glasses for your 3D movie? Watch as the ticket collector dumps them out of a shipping container, onto the floor and makes you pick them up off the floor, next to one of the many overflowing trash bins. Dirty, slow, expensive...Whoever manages this hell hole has got to be some sort of corporate espionage goon for a competitor. Thats the only way any of this could make sense. Why did I go out for this? Netflix for the win.

I love this movie theater. Senior days on Wednesdays have worked out well with my parents and bargain Tuesdays are very much worth it. The premium Lux seating is much better than the regular Lux seating at Superlux. Pushing a button at your seat instead of having to go up to a wall past people makes such a great difference. You also get free popcorn for the same price of a superlux ticket and you dont get free popcorn at Superlux. That button makes it so much easier to get refills on the free drink and free popcorn. I ate my moneys worth.Though with the Lux, you are sharing a theater with regular people, unlike the Superlux. You also get points here and at the superlux you dont. Though Im disappointed you cant put your feet up like at the Regal Fenway. I really like the rewards program, but you have to use coupons to get rewards and you cant just use your phone or card to redeem them. I prefer watching Pixar-type movies at Superlux because of the age requirement. This theater has a wide range of food options. There are paid massage chairs before you walk in and you have to take an escalator up to the theater. There is lots of free parking, but it can get really full. There are ticket kiosks, so getting past the lines is pretty easy. The artificial popcorn butter isnt very good, but the popcorn there is pretty good. The portions are large, but the prices are high, as you would expect at a movie theater. They have a wide range of movies and quite a few theaters. Out of all the movie theaters in the area, I highly recommend this one. There is even a bowling alley next door. What more could you want?

Read the other reviews. The staffing (in general) is bad. A couple employees make an effort. The rest mail it in. Management is possibly worse. So why does that matter? Because it leads to: being late for your movie (very slow service with the few lines for tickets and the few concessions lines that are open), your concession order being wrong (tough to do, but they do it), the film being out of focus (not responding to customers to fix it), the lights being left on during the movie (happens too often), 3D glasses running out (why see a 3D movie then? Like headaches?) and the bathrooms (and sometimes theaters) looking and smelling like war zones. Such as waste! The location is great at Legacy Place. Parking is okay (sometimes tight) but there is a walkway over to the parking structure. The facility is fairly new and nicely designed. Apparently they made a real effort for the cinemas opening and then gave up entirely. Try calling sometime...that will be a waste of 40 minutes. Even the nice-looking restaurant on site screws up consistently. Dont waste your time with it. Fewer and fewer people go to the restaurant now. Even purchasing tickets and the seats are bad. Apart from the lux level, you cant even purchase reserved seats in advance or sit in the nice chairs like the new chairs in other cinemas in this chain. Any sort of competent management could make it 3 to 5 stars in a month. Again...what a waste!

The concept of having waiter-service dining while you watch a movie is a nice idea, however I would say that this location in particular isnt anything too special. Just with the overall congestion of Legacy Place shows tend to sell out quickly. Ive been here on two separate times and its definitely better to buy tickets, online otherwise it will most likely be sold out as there is a limited amount of seats. It is a nice couple activity but the tickets are definitely expensive $100+ tickets for 2 (with $10 credit to dining that you have to ask them to apply and hand them the voucher). I suppose if you factor in the cost of going to a dinner and movie separately it would be about the same. The service was nothing outstanding. I do want to compare the overall experience to the SuperLux in Chestnut Hill though to see if theres something Im missing out on. As for regular movies the cinema has a variety of seats that are average but if its a popular movie you should probably get there at least 10 minutes before the screening to secure good seats.

TL;DR - This theater has potential to be really nice but poor operations leads it to be an unpredictable experience. This place consistently gets worse. If I had to guess, somehow theyre not doing well, financially, though theyre always busy and in a high-traffic plaza. I live in Dedham so its still my best option - but this place is *always* understaffed, leading to impossibly long concession lines, and requiring arrival to the movie at least an hour before if you want anything in addition to a good seat. Ive sat in the Lux level twice and both times the audio was atrocious, and the customer service wasnt terrific for the price. Lastly, the last two times Ive been to the theater they have messed up the video, somehow. With the audio working/on, but no video to accompany it until about 2-3 minutes into the previews. The "pre" previews with commercials never had video but the audio was on. Its as if theyre trying to save projector bulb cost/energy.
