Im a big fan of baseball, so I knew I would like this place. The cool thing about this factory is that their bats are so legendary and have been used by almost every famous player in history. While youre waiting for the tour, there are a lot of things to keep you occupied. You take pictures with famous bats and gloves as well as ridiculously oversized ones. Theres also an assortment of other bats, machine models, and life-size statues of players. I finally went on the tour and was surprised by the length of it. They took us from a history of how the bats used to be made to showing us the process now, from blanks to finished bats. At a certain point during the tour, they let you take as many removed "nubs" (little parts of the bat the machines use to hood onto them) as you want to take home. After leaving the tour, I also noticed that there were batting cages you can use, but they were really crowded so I didnt try it out.

This is a wonderful place, dedicated to Americas Game (No, I dont mean successful nation building or undisputed global improvement). If you are in Louisville and you have any interest in sports whatsoever, visit this Museum. There are quite a few "free" activities, but the 30 minute guided tour of their factory is tremendous and a "cant miss" opportunity. We visited a week after the 2013 World Series concluded (Go Sox!), which signifies the Louisville Slugger off-season, but they are so customer-service oriented that a shell staff of workers was employed that day to run a few bats thru the process just so visitors would have something to see. Excellence. Our guide was very good, and his info was interesting and well delivered. I could not resist a cliche question about where they make the corked bats, and he fielded it in stride, "Those are in the basement." A great place, a gem in the crown of Louisville.

Well, theres just a little less than two hours remaining until the end of my sons first birthday. Why is this important? Oh yea, its because I ordered him an engraved bat to give him as one of his birthday presents that thanks to Louisville Slugger, never arrived. Ive called customer service several times over the last week and have been on hold for hours with no answer. I finally spoke to a customer service rep today who informed me that the bat shouldve shipped two weeks ago but for some reason, it didnt. He also informed me that a manager would contact me sometime today to attempt to resolve the problem with my order. Surprise surprise...no call. No email. No nothing. Thankfully, my son is only one and doesnt understand enough to have his feelings hurt. His mom and I sure are disappointed in Louisville Slugger. Terrible customer service.

We stopped at the slugger Museum on our way home from a Florida trip. We are baseball fans but did not know a lot about bats and how they made them. When I heard that there was a tour, I expected it to be boring and dull. I was pleasantly surprised when our tour guide was funny and informative and made the tour a great experience. There is also a batting cage where you can go in and hit the balls that are pitched to you at speeds that they deliver in the majors. The tour was about half hour and we spent just a little over an hour in the museum itself. I dont think there was enough to keep us there for longer than that but I was still impressed and it was reasonably priced. And of course our whole family went home with the mini slugger bats. It is not something that I would do again but it was definitely worth the one time visit..

Fun place to go, even if you arent a huge baseball fan. The tour walks you through the entire warehouse, with a live demonstration on how they used to hand make every bat, along with machines from 1980s (still running) and their newest machines. With the price of the tour everyone gets mini bat. The tour takes a 1/2 hour and if they are busy it leaves every 10 minutes. The tour has been updated since I was last on it in 2012. If you want to personalize a bat from the gift shop, I recommend ordering it before you go on the tour, it takes about 15 minutes. The larger bats dont fit into a checked size luggage and they wont let you carry a large bat on the plane. They have a lot of baseball memorabilia in the exhibits, including Babe Ruths bat. So fun and worth returning every few years to see the updates.

I took my two sons, 12 and 9 for the first time and they both loved it! My 9 year old is a baseball junkie and was obviously in heaven but my 12 year could really care less but he had a blast! The museum is fascinating and a dream for any baseball fan. The factory tour was amazing, a real unprecedented look at how these legendary bats are made. Our tour guide was great, he was very knowledgable and easy to talk to. The only negative experience we had was that the guy watching over the batting cages was sort of a grouch, the "you kids better stay of my lawn" type of guy but the rest of the employees we came into contact with was very friendly and helpful. I must visit for baseball enthusiasts and those that are not , either way you cant go there and be disappointed!

Went on a tour here. Costs $14 per person and our tour only lasted 15 minutes. It was a large waste of money. The tours are also too large; there was a child in a wheelchair and he kept getting stuck at the end of the group and could not see what was being shown. Also the tour guide said facts that were then proved immediately wrong in videos they would show. After all this we were standing near the gift shop which closed at 5; come 4:50 everyone was being pushed out and they had the doors shut and only letting people out. They would not let a father in with his 5 year old son despite it having been exactly 4:50 and not closing till 5. We feel they have lost their ways and become too commercialized and will never return again.

The Slugger museum is definitely a good one time stop with a full tour of a surprisingly small building. The whole tour can be summed up to an episode of How Its Made and takes about as long as watching a full episode. You do get to handle a bunch of old bats and get a free minibat at the end. The ticket that gets you on the tour grants access to the Ripleys Believe it or Not rooms which amount to an unimpressive display compared to the actual tour itself. You also get a 20ish minute baseball movie that acts as a long commercial for a cost of $14 a person, which is fair given the content. The whole thing can be experienced in about an hour and a half so have some other plans to fill your day.

Terrific customer service. We purchased an engraved bat during our visit in April. When we received the bat, we did not notice that the engraving was slightly wrong until we gave it to our son. I called the next day. I explained the situation to Hannah who checked our original order. The mistake was made in transcribing from my husbands order page to the computer. Hannah said that they would replace the bat. During the whole process, Hannah was very nice and cordial. I really appreciated her response to the situation. We had really enjoyed our tour of the factory and the museum. This incident has left us with very positive feelings toward the entire organization.
