The Speed Museum looks amazing after the remodeling. They offer lots of great exhibits and their Speed Cinema brings a lot of different film experiences to the community. I am thankful because they brought the Dekalog by Krzysztof Kieślowski to the theater when it had been remastered - watching the ten short films with a community was something Id wanted to do since I found Dekalog and they made it a reality. The Speed Museum is a cultural gift to this community, one to cherish and visit often.

The Speeds collection offers something for every taste...spend a few minutes with Alice Neels "Priscilla Johnson" and you wont be able to get it out of your head. If you have children (I have 3), ArtSparks is a must! There is simply no better way to spend a saturday morning than making art with your child and sharing the hands-on activities. The special events are always a treat. The staff is very accomodating of kids...the entire collection is very approachable.

Good: * excellent variety of works from ancient to modern * beautiful facility Cautions: * navigation is a little difficult, IMO (of course, that is often a caveat with a growing facility); there is a lack of uniform signage to provide direction and, though the available maps work well per level, navigating between levels is confusing Overall, Speed is a very nice art museum and is very worthy of both local and traveling visitors.

I understand that the employees here want you to keep your children in control but I have to say they totally went overboard. I took my granddaughters and son, who are very well behaved. Had no problems with them at all but was followed throughout our entire time we were here!!! I was made to feel like we were doing something criminal!!! They never touched anything, ran, or misbehaved at ALL!!

This is one of the most thoughtfully organized museums Ive ever visited. You can tell that theyve put in a lot of effort to make the museum friendly to everyone, seasoned art lovers and newcomers alike. Their show on the rise of sneaker culture was great--I was skeptical about it at first, but turned out to be super interesting. And dont miss "Christ Watching Over Dudes" by Purvis Young.

I went with my friend and it was a wonderful experience. The actual museum is stunning, and they have wonderful pieces of art, sculpture, design, and textiles. Their Artspark program is also incredible, and allows young children to get engaged with art and play with its components. One of my absolute favorite things in Louisville!

This is a little gem inside Louisville. The building is much bigger than it appears from the outside. There is an amazing array of art and sculptures from the ancient era all the way up to modern times. The staff is very friendly. I love to come here and soak everything in by walking around aimlessly.

Well curated and fun. Sundays are free, the collection is not the largest but the way it is presented is informative and the staff is very involved in helping guests understand the pieces they have. Great educational environment for the kids as its a quick trip that doesnt languish in old dusty rooms.

On of the best museums in Louisville! The treasures are breathtaking! The tapestry room is a must see, as is most everything in there, I look forward to going back, as some of the exhibits were still being restored! The receptionists were very helpful in planning our visits, thanks! :)

I havent been since the remodel and I had brought kids before and bringing them this time was alot harder.. I think there should be some more kid friendly art/sculptures etc. didnt like that it was a free sunday but had to pay 7.00 to park and was there for 1.5 hour

Very beautiful and interesting artwork. But living in Louisville my whole life, I was used to free admission and parking. Needless to say, I was surprised to see admission go from free to $10. Plus, you have to also pay to park.

Entry is free on Sundays! If you get parking early its a great place to go on the Louisville campus. Some exhibits are of course not for everyone, but their is a large variety of different styles to grab your attention.

Went on owesley sunday it was great. Parking was reasonable, museum was free, rested in the cafe after awhile and the service was great. Ran out of energy before I ran out of museum. So I need to go back and finish.

The Museum was great!!! But the parking garage was very tight and congested!!! Had me scratching my head, and with two kids, you had to pay first before you get to your car after all that? Wouldve gave it more Stars

They just recently reopened and it is fantastic. For the next five years, Sundays are free, making it even more entertaining. There is a huge selection. Even if you hate art, its still pretty fun.

Very beautiful on the outside. Couldnt see the exhibits, though. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. From what I hear, the exhibit is great, just wish I could see for myself...

Waited and watched for over 4 years. It was great to see an updated version of art. We enjoyed seeing it on Mothers day. Thanks to the donor that allowed us to do this.

I came as a chaperon for my Daughters High school Arts and Humanities class. It was a short visit but we had a wonderful time. Well definitely be back as a family.

Best rooms to go in first are the Egyptian room, the decorative wood room shipped from England, and tapestry room. Other rooms can be boring.
