On the spectrum of distilleries, this is one of the smallest in Kentucky that you are able to visit. Home of Jeffersons, Whisky Row, and High Spire this distillery started out as a contract distillery but has now transitioned into making these three brands exclusively. They pump out about 20 barrels of bourbon per week where as Jim Beam and co might produce upwards of 1000/day if my information serves me right. Come and take a tour ($10) which lasts about an hour and includes the tasting or come just for the tasting ($9). I would say that tasting alone is not worth the price, so if youre going to make the short drive from Louisville, take the extra time to take the tour. Overall a really fun experience, and much different than the big distillers.

So, we showed up after the last tour had started today and I was hoping to get the story of the Jeffersons Ocean in spite of being late. Hugh was not only willing to share the story, but also offered for us to join the tour that we missed for the tasting. Of course we jumped at the opportunity. The staff was very knowledgeable, were excellent story tellers (from what I was able to see) and very accommodating. Hugh went above and beyond by giving a restaurant recommendation when my wife asked for one and our lunch at Selenas was amazing! Thanks for the recommendation and Im looking forward to coming back and not being late for the tour!

The Kentucky Artisan Distillery was well worth the visit. It was very friendly with lots of character. There were four options: tour & tasting ($12), tour only, tasting only ($8), and gift shop (free). I did the tasting where I was given four pours: Jefferson Ocean, Highspire, Whiskey Row and one of my choice (I chose the bourbon additionally aged in cabernet sauvignon barrels, which was outstanding). The staff was extremely friendly.

The distillery tour of the Kentucky Artisan Distillery is amazing to say the least. My wife and I have been on multiple tours and this one is by far the best. The employee who led our tour was very knowledgeable and the tour itself was very personable. They definitely pride themselves in their work. You should check this out if you get a chance.

A small facility that lacks some character but is still a great visit. Average price for a distillery tour, but probably the best tasting of any of them. Friendly and informed staff, and the most hands on of any tour in Bourbon country.

Small operation but a very good tour and tasting! Liz explained everything in detail especially in terms of the different nuisances of each whiskey. I highly recommend that you go this distillery if you are a fan of bourbon!

Great introduction to distillery tours as it has smaller groups and a easy going pace, tasting consisted of four small batch bourbons you will be hard pressed to find elsewhere.
