We had high hopes that the Grafton (IL) Winery and Brewhaus Restaurant would give us a good view of the Mississippi, good drinks and good food. No such luck. The view was just OK from the street side deck (maybe would have been better from the other deck but there was a wedding party going on and were not wedding crashers). Still, the biggest disappointments were the beer and the food. There was no table service that evening (on a Friday night?) but I dont mind toting a couple of beers or food. The Brewhaus had a Pilsner and a Wheat on tap so I ordered those. I also asked for a sample of the red ale. Boy was I surprised when it came out of the same tap as the "pilsner". I didnt like the sample at all as it was not cold, not foamy, and not good. Actually, the same thing goes for the full glasses I ordered. There was virtually no carbonation and, dontcha know, no kick either. I really could not decide whether the beer had gone flat or never developed any alcohol and natural carbonation in the first place. Bad, bad, bad. We ordered a couple of burgers that came with home-made potato chips. The burgers were well-done and really a bit overcooked (crunchy). But the bread-and-butter pickles on the burgers were terrific and so were the home-made chips. The SW Burger came with some onion rings and they were really good. Did not try the wine outselves but several guests at the Pere Marquette Lodge we met at breakfast said the wine was undrinkable. Google + reviews of the place from 2 years ago were good but that was not our experience at all.

We visited The Grafton Winery and Brewhaus this weekend for our annual Employee Appreciation Dinner Party and had a very lovely experience! Totally worth the 1-2 hour drive made by our staff of 40 most of us coming from the Springfield, IL area. I had a great time planning the dinner with Sue Rongey, she made the planning experience a delight! I really wanted the dinner to be unique and Sue and Chef Jason went above and beyond to make that happen! Everyone loved our kabob themed 4 course wine pairing dinner! Chef Jason did a fantastic job with his expertise & creations! We showed up early for appetizers and drinks and enjoyed tasting the different wines and beers with wonderful service from bartenders Jason and Kelci. When we moved on to dinner Chef Jason and Sous Chef Nick served our dinner and gave a nice explanation of what we would be eating and what wine we would be enjoying with each course. We had an absolutely amazing experience and we cant wait to come back! I asked for everyones names at the end of the party because I hope they all know what an outstanding job they did! :) Thank you all for making this one of the best parties we have ever had! Everything was so wonderfully orchestrated we all got to sit back, relax and enjoy the party together.

Extremely disappointed in Graftin Winery have visited several times over that past few years. This year saw big change in their menu NOT accommodating to those that are Gluten sensitive. We ate there with my dad who is sever celiac he ordered a plane hamburger no bun it came with their hand made chips, waitress was told he was wheat sensitive and she said she would get him whatever he needed but was NOT knowledgable on what had wheat in it first the hamburger had a wheat filler in therefor my dad got very sick. Second the homemade chips are fried in a common basket and was put with the plane burger. The only thing listed in menu was a chef salad but they could not tell you which where GF. We could not eat there again so they not only lost 2 people but lost a family of 8. They need to strongly educate wait staff and kitchen and improve menu to stay in business. There are to many people that have food allergies not to be more knowledgeable.

Stopped in for a bite to eat, and to try some of the beers they produce on site. They brew 9 beers, and since Im not typically an IPA or Stout drinker, it made it easy to narrow it down to one of their 6 selection flights. The beers were good, and the bleu cheese burger was amazing. If you want a typical winery atmosphere, I recommend checking out their establishment up the hill - The Vinyards. The only reason I have to take a star is due to the fact our food order was somehow not put in. After waiting a while (our friends were half way through their meal) and finally checking on it, they realized the error and got it out right away. I understand accidents happen, but they could have at least comped us a drink or something for the trouble.

Grafton Winery is one of my favorite places to go. Love the chicken carbonara, add a glass of Captains Blush and Im set! They have live bands on select weekends during the summer as well as some winter months, and yes...a LIVE band can be loud...add a group there to support the band and it gets even louder. That being said, I also go in the winter to sit with my hubby by the fire and just relax. So depending on the day, time and season, you get a nice mix of life for everyone! They must be doing something right they usually have a crowd! To the person who said Loading Dock is better...REALLY?! They have very differnet atmospheres from each other. I prefer the Grafton Winery, the Loading Dock is just another BAR.

Wow we had our sons wedding rehearsal here January 27, 2017, I worked with Sue on it and she was fabulous and fun to work with! Anything I wanted she was willing to work with. We had barbecue brisket and barbecue chicken with corn bread ,baked beans, mac and cheese and a salad. The food was wonderful!!!! We were a little worried because we didnt get a chance to taste test before because we were 6hours away. No worries the room was great! The food was fabulous! And the help was very friendly! Our guests were very pleased. Thank you Sue!

Very disappointing. We arrived at 8:15pm. We ordered dinner and and appetizer and were told our appetizer had to be served at the same time as our dinner which was frustrating. Our food was good, although a bit pricey but thats to be expected at a winery. But the staff started putting all the chairs and tables around us away beginning at 8:30. We asked when they closed and were told 9:00pm. It was a Saturday night. So we rushed through our meal while they mopped the floor around us. We will not be returning.

Ate here for a late lunch on 5/23. I had the buffalo chicken wrap and my wife had the chicken caeser wrap, both came with a side of homemade potato chips. Wraps were delicious and filling, chips were good but we would have preferred fries or Lays potato chips instead. The staff was friendly but definitely understaffed for the amount of customers eating. Took over 25 minutes to receive our food and had to stand in line to get a refill on our drinks. Overall, it was a pleasant lunch on a nice day.

We dont get out much, and when we do, we dont want to be disappointed. We can count on The Winery being open when we suddenly have a moment to get out. The service is friendly, view terrific, and the food consistently tasty with new dishes introduced almost every visit. Im hard to budge off their fine hamburgers.
