Had a few friends visiting from out of town so we all went to check out Rivers. I dont want to seem the regular degenerate gambler rating poorly because I lost money...in fact I actually won about just under $400 but it doesnt change the fact this is a bad casino...I got lucky and having some luck doesnt make a place good/bad. First, I dont play slots i feel they are a big scam and based on the other reviews I am justified in this belief. My game is roulette (ironically has the worst odds of any table game but i love it) but if Im down on luck I like to dabble in other table games. Here is where this casino ranks poorly for me. Table minimums at this place are absurd not to mention to very few tables they have. I was there on a Thursday evening around 630 PM and the cheapest table i could find was a $15 roulette table. I didnt really mind this as I normally spend around $20 a spin but besides my friends and I the tables were pretty bare. And once we started winning say like 7-8 spins after we got there they raised the table minimums to $25 which cleared the few people who were actually playing. To me this is ridiculous for a Thursday night. I feel this is also a horrible business model as well as it scares away people from playing who only want to have a good time. Why no $5 min table or even at the worst $10 mins??? Im afraid it just went downhill from there as the night went on, the table mins kept rising which immediately cleared the tables except for the most degenerate of gamblers. Staff was alright but like another reviewer said, they werent exactly thrilled with customer wins almost like we were taking their own money or something...In the good places dealers pull for the customers because they will receive more tips..Clearly this is not the case here. Didnt try the food and didnt really care too. Final Thought: If this is your only option, its okay if youre willing to take a chance with say $300 or more but if you have less than that to lose just stay at home or go to a gentlemans club for a better use to your money...at least there youll leave happy. If you can, make it to the Horseshoe in Hammond or even better if you have the means make the trip to the Blue Chip in Michigan City only about 40-50 minutes away. Both are much better than Rivers. Drinks are cheaper, both have more slots and table, the dealers actually pull for you, you can lose money and still have had a good time playing for a few hours because the table mins are respectable.

Went to Rivers Casino today with my mom. Mind you last time I was here was last year, but to my surprise Rivers Casino informed me that someone was using my rewards card and that person happen to be someone I dated briefly. Mind you this is without my permission or knowledge of the activity that he was administering there. Security informed me that I was now that I was banned from there because a card was being used under my name which they took no time to investigate. My ex who I dated briefly who I then broke up with because he is a gambling addict which I have come to find and obviously a good gambler to get me banned from the casino. Now if your security flagged my card why is he able to use it this long and at your facility?! I filed a police report with the Des Plaines police department to report the incident that they are condoning the acts of identity theft because someone other than myself was my card for their personal gain and Im getting the heat from it when I brought it to their attention that my card was missing and that my address and information in their system was changed as well and not by me!!!! They refused to further assist me with this situation. I spoke to Adolfo whos manager of security over the phone. He was very rude and defensive since I brought it to his attention that security failed to do their job to prevent situations as such. So yes Rivers Casino ,I will be contacting the BBB and the Illinois Gambling Commission about your protocol and lack of wanting to further investigate this issue. Obviously my personal information is not secure on your end and your security team is slacking off. This is the reason why your business have a 2.7 rating on Google and why there are so many negative reviews. PROFESSIONALISM, CONCERN, AND CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NON EXISTENT HERE. WORD TRAVELS FAST AND YOUR PRACTICE WILL BE ADDRESSED AS WELL AS YOUR "SECURITY AND SURVEILLANCE"

EXTREMLY DISAPPOINTED I like many others was extremely excited to go to the Rivers Casino on opening day July 18, 2011. I however was not prepared; neither was anyone else for the lines and chaos. The Rivers Casino staff were extremely courteous and helpful; and that couldnt have been easy considering the circumstances. I exited onto Rivers Rd just before noon, it took 90 minutes to get into casino. At one point I placed a phone call to the non-emergency number of the Des Plaines Police Department requesting traffic assistance at intersection of Devon & Rivers Rd. I was met with a nasty "what do you want from me, I have 20 officers out there" by the man on the other end. Somehow end up in parking garage only to be met by a line at escalators of garage. Told casino at capacity, have to wait until some people leave. Asked permission of security guard if it was possible to be taken to restroom, politely denied and given directions to porta-potties outside! Proceeded to get into an altercation with a drunk line-jumping racist. Now allowed down escalators into casino another line! Directed to restroom NO LINE....NO TOILET PAPER EITHER. Finally in casino, jammed packed; sardines have more room in a can I tell you. Waited in line for rewards card for 25 minutes. Go to buffet another line, not so bad though about 12-15 minutes. Food decent, they did offer lamb chops at grill! Yum. Trying to get a little action, all 4 crap tables had 35-40 people on each with people waiting in wings. Slots were 4-5 people deep. And the high limit room was tiny, tiny, one more tiny! It too was jammed packed not a lot of options. Never got the opportunity to play! I also found the casino to be small, almost like river boat small. The Buffet, Flipt, Mian restaurants were all next to one another, which I found odd, and not a good use of space. I will not be going back to Rivers Casino.
