On my way from Conway, SC to Fultondale, AL I decided to make a 65 mile, 1 hr 30 minute detour so I could check out "ALittleDiveBarInDahlonega". As a huge fan of Ashley McBryde I wanted to experience the place in which the song was written about. I decided I was going to wear my Ashley McBryde shirt as well. Ive heard the place has had many fans stop by here since the song was released and since that was my sole purpose for visiting I only found it fitting. As I enter the bar/restaurant I have the feeling that this place is truly one of a kind. It had a rustic and intimate charm about it. I immediately notice several musicians as they were just getting up from a table right next to the door. Ive never been here before so I start walking in further to find the bar so I could enjoy a Grey Goose and cranberry and grab a bite to eat. I was promptly greeted by the General Manager, Fabian, who introduced himself and upon seeing my Ashley McBryde shirt smiled and we started chatting. Ive seen Ashley perform 13 times this year and it made me feel good that he lit up when he saw the shirt. He then directed me upstairs and said Joey would assist me at the bar there. I felt really welcome from the moment we met and appreciate great customer service like that. The feeling I had as a stranger walking into a new place quickly disappeared! I find a seat at the bar and within a minute or two meet Joey. She seemed extremely nice & friendly. I placed my drink order and asked for a menu. As she handed the menu to me she noticed my shirt and we start chatting. The customer service that I experienced at The Crimson Moon was top notch. As Im looking at the menu I mention to Joey that Im in the mood for a chicken sandwich and she recommended the Fancy Grilled Cheese Club which I could add chicken to. I figured Id give it a shot. My food arrived much quicker than I expected. I remember being surprised at how fast it was. The sandwich looked absolutely amazing (and very large) and even the fries looked exactly the way I like them, a little crispy on the outside. The fries were seasoned perfectly as well. The taste of the sandwich was something I will never forget. The grilled chicken was seasoned and cooked perfectly, and the flavors bursting out of the sandwich was absolutely incredible. This was by far the best chicken sandwich Ive ever taken a bite of, but honestly Ive never had a sandwich of any kind that was this delicious. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting something to eat here. As Im sitting there relishing in the meal I just ate Ambur, the Executive Chef sits right next to me. Fabian had come upstairs and introduced me to her and I told her how awesome the meal was and thanked her. She definitely did a fantastic job making that amazing meal and was extremely friendly as well. It was nice to have a few people to chat with while I was there. As I had parted ways I told Joey & Ambur Id see them again in September when Ashley comes to perform in Dahlonega. All in all I am extremely pleased and grateful for the food, the prompt service, and the friendly atmosphere I found at The Crimson Moon. It was an experience I will never forget and one that will definitely bring me back!! And for those of you whove never been here before and hear the lyrics of the song and think its just "a little dive bar", remember those are just lyrics that fit extremely well into that amazingly written and incredible song performed by a very talented artist! This place is so much more than a little dive bar and you really have to come in and experience the awesomeness!!

If you read the other recent reviews, consider this more of the same. I went to Crimson Moon two weeks ago with 4 friends while we were in town for a wedding. We arrived around 10 am for brunch to a room only a third full. Our waiter, Jerrell, didnt show up for a while so we got to enjoy the memory of drinks. After we asked for waters, he disappeared before even checking if we were ready to order. 10:30 rolls around and he finally strolls up with some water. Someone ordered a Mimosa, the rest consisted of coffee and hot chocolate. We placed our food orders, simple stuff like their "signature" omelet or biscuits and bacon, and Jerrell decided to use this opportunity to work on his memory and not write anything down. After he went off to read a novel or take a nap, someone else made the 10-minute walk to bring out the Mimosa. She must have been tired from such a long trek as she proceeds to drop it on the other side of the room. Drop count: 1. Refreshed from his 15-minute nap, Jerrell brings out the mugged drinks and doesnt neglect the 25% travel tax. Every single drink looks like someone took a big gulp on the way. While we were marveling at the liquid shortage, a table nearby was being cleaned up. Of course, the waitress dropped some plates, why wouldnt she? Drop Count: 2. Now 11:15-ish, a table seated at the same time as us got their food, but Jerrell somehow got lost. Our food arrived 30 minutes later and someone botherd Jerrell to top off the waters. He managed to do that quickly, but ran off before we discovered that things like "over easy" and "salsa on the side" were hard to remember when Jerrell took orders. We were ready to be done with the place so we ate our food and tried to get our check. Jerrell doesnt come back until 12:30(!) and didnt get us our check until 12:40. Thats singular because, even though we asked for it to be split, he said that their machine "couldnt split checks." Welcome to 1992. We tried to do the math ourselves but Jerrell got artistic with his allocation of seats and the best we could muster was an even split. It was hard to math something when another waitress dropped a tray of glasses. Drop count: 3! In all of the time that we were there, the place never went above a third of its capacity. This indicates two things: the locals know well enough to stay away, and even at such low capacity, the staff either cant or wont do a good job. Dont worry about Jerrell, though. He applied the 6+ gratuity to our party of 5, simply because we knew people at another table. Be sure not to be friendly with other diners, theres a charge for that at Crimson Moon.

Went on 11/7/2016. Was the worse place I have ever been to in all of Dahlonega! They say on the website that they close at 8 p.m., On the Menu it says 9 p.m., However we got there at 5:40 and they closed the doors at 6:00 p.m. The server even turned away a huge group of people that came into the door around 6:05. The girl who was supposed to be our server was pissed that we didnt order alcohol after asking to see a drink menu. She was more interested in leaving than doing even 10% of her job. The food was horrible. My husband and I literally left over half our food there. I have been told you have to pick the right thing on the right night for it to be edible and they were right! We had burgers and fries and the fries were able to be eaten. However, the burger had clumps of seasoning inside, Large clumps! The atmosphere would be very nice if it was clean or the server was nice at all. The one other person we saw there was a man that looked like the bartender and he was great! Nice and courteous and you could tell he was actually interested in making sure you were having a good time and enjoyed it. To bad he only came out of the back once or this review would be much different. I will never go back here again! We should have listened to everyone we have talked to about eating here and stayed far far away.
