On our 3rd date, my girlfriend and I visited the Front Street Cafe and can not say enough about this place. To start, the owner, Bob, greeted us "the love birds" on the street, walked us in as he told us about the place, the live music playing out back, showed us to a table and introduced us to others sitting nearby. We were so surprised at how friendly everyone was and we felt extremely comfortable and at home from the start. We played it safe and both got a Caesar Salad which was fresh and tasteful. The atmosphere was busy but you could tell that everyone in the place was having a great evening. We left that evening and could not stop talking about our experience, the staff and when we were going to come back. This was in October 2015. Though weve been back to visit New Richmond several times over the last seven months, this Saturday was the first time weve been able to get back to the Cafe. That being said, if we could change anything, it would be to have later hours on Sunday. If for no other reason, for those love birds that never know when theyre going to drop in to see you! :) As for our visit Saturday night, it was exactly as we expected. We walked in the door 7 months later and Bob remembered us as if we were there last week. He has to be one of the nicest and kindest people weve met and is by far the best part of the cafe. We were seated immediately and both had dinner this time, the Ribeye and the Chicken Marsala. What can I say, it was delicious. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the entire experience again. Theres something to be said about finding a restaurant with over-the-top good food but to have the added bonus of the person touch that Bob adds, this place is priceless. Bob, when we decide to tie the knot, we will take you up on your offer to cater it ...thanks again for making our evening! We strongly recommend this place. Do what we do, go early and walk around or plan on walking around afterwards. The town itself it top notch as well with its small town charm and romantic setting along the river. Youll see families out walking with their children, kids playing in the park, ducks to feed and a peacock. Yes, I said peacock! We even did a little research to find out that the peacock, Jacob, is a local celebrity there in New Richmond. May well be our favorite date destination. -Brian & Stevie

At first, we thought it a quaint place from the outside. Once we walked in, the tables are jammed right to the entrance and you have literally 5 feet of walking space to stand while a hostess will eventually get to you (the first time, we waited 7 minutes). Finally, the owner seats us at a table. We waited for 10 minutes, and after no service, walked out and said wed come back later. We revisited 2 hours later, and the the tiny little place had a band, this time, as soon as you walk in. I could have shaken hands with the lead singer as soon as I stepped foot in the place. We waited about 5 minutes, then a small Asian woman rushed over to us and shooed her hand, "We have no tables. You leave now," she said angrily. ""I laughed, thinking this cant be real. "Is there a wait list?" I asked. She replied, "No, no reservation, no table. All tables full. You go to another place." I was appalled by the rudeness and lack of customer service. Very unprofessional. The locals gave us a heads up that the place is over-priced and the food nasty, anyway. So, I guess, we actually saved our money and time by not going there. Thankfully, we walked just up the block, to the "GREEN KAYAK," with delicious food and the owners were fabulous! MUCH better MUSIC, too. Place to lounge, an awesome bar, large tables, not standing on top of each other tables, like Front Street Cafe. Head over the the green kayak and save your money and frustration from this place. Also, if you need a place to stay, the Green Kayak also has an AMAZING rental with a full kitchen and 2 bedrooms! AWESOME! Too bad Front Street has to reside in this charming town.

It was ok. Good location and view of the river, good service, but average food at best. My wife and I went for Sunday Brunch. She got the Western Omelette meal, and it should have been called the mushroom omelette. The omelette had bigger and more mushrooms then anything else. The ham was sparse and came in very tiny cubes, and it had hardly any peppers at all. I got the Chicken, Bacon, and cheese panini. I added ranch to the panini. It had a good flavor, but wasnt very filling. The chicken was very very thin. Overall it wasnt a good bang for our buck, and we both left still hungry. Our bill was $21, which isnt horrible, but there are a lot of other brunch and lunch options out there that are more affordable and actually fill you up. It wasnt the worst restaurant, but it wasnt that great either.

My wife and I have been to Front Street Cafe many times for dinner or to listen to music in the back yard where they have a stage and seating. It is a charming, cozy experience and everyone is very friendly. The food is absolutely fabulous and they have a fine selection of wine. This Sunday after church we stopped by for brunch and again had a wonderful experience. We took a seat next to the fireplace and were greeted by the owner who chatted with us for while about historic sites to visit in New Richmond. They have the best BLT around. They were serving Mimosas that we opted out of; however we will try them next Sunday....

Enjoyed a very pleasant lunch with a view of the Ohio river. Food was tasty, service was exceptionally friendly (but very slow... understaffed that day). Turkey Ruben was good, chips were fresh, coffee was great, but the BLT had only one small and very, very thin piece of tomato (why bother?). Atmosphere was pleasant, though noisy (Pro tip: Consider using more sound absorbing materials). Overall, Id recommend it.

My wife and I have enjoyed both the lovely 20 minute drive along the river to get there, the setting in New Richmond, right on the river and the experience at the Front Street Café. Our food was good and the service was pleasant and timely. We go there on date rides and have brought and referred friends there. Watch their calendar for some great music too. Well be back! Thanks.

Charge for a glass of water without telling you before you get your bill. And if u ask for bread, ur charged for that too with your MEAL extra without telling you before you get your bill and see the charges on there. The potatoes that served with the prime rib is so small u can hardly see them. No garnish on your plate for 22.00, looks so plain. But meal was good with a great salad.

We have a large group of 38, eating Sunday brunch at Front Street Cafe. The backyard setting was perfect for a large group social function. The food was causal and excellent. They keep my coffee warm and bottomless. Bob, the owner of this nice cafe, gave us a talk of the town history. It was a very enjoyable lunch by the Ohio River. I recommend this cafe to all my friends.
