So where do you begin with a review of the Berkeley Plaza Movies? That would be the absolutely sub-par, disrespectful, bully of a "manager"; which happens to be the owners son. This individual is the one that wears these extremely cheap appearing suits, early 20s, overweight bully. I overheard him talking demeaning to customers and in the same movie visit, the employees. It made my skin crawl to hear him talk so belittling to a female customer who was quite nicely inquiring as to why 5 year olds were allowed in a Rated R movie. He started to poster up his shoulders aggressively and proceeded to say they can do as they wish, "I own this place. I know all the rules and regulations of the Movie Cinema Federation" - blah, blah, blah. He then called someone on the phone and stated a female customer was being belligerent and she needed to leave! I was absolutely appalled to say the least! I had witnessed the entire thing and the woman was absolutely one of the most respectful individuals I had seen. This young man was trying to physically and verbally intimidate her, it was hard to stomach. However, it didnt stop there, obviously angered by the proceeding event - he proceeded to belittle his employees and this one older woman looked scared to death. After he left I told the woman the way he was speaking to her was creating a hostile work environment. She simply said, "I know - everyone is scared around here, hes a monster but I need to put food on the table". I went back to our seats and removed my family of 5 from the movie. I will not support a company that conducts themselves as such, and I certainly will not be back. Yes, it is a "cheap" ticket movie theater; however, you certainly get what you pay for. This bully of a "manager" is a joke of a human being. It was nauseating seeing him speak to a female customer, any customer for that fact, the way he did - and it was almost unbearable to see how he spoke to the employee. I dont care if his father owns this place or not, this is completely and utterly unacceptable. These employees may be too young and/or too scared to say anything; however, actions like this will lead to legal actions. I would not support this business under any circumstance!

I gave this five stars in spite of a couple things. First yes the place is a little dirty and the theaters are small and the seats not the most comfortable, for the most part the employees are friendly but yes sometimes you get the occasional bad apple, just like any place. But like I said in spite of these minor things, it is so cheap, I can take my family of five there and get the tickets, popcorn, drink & candy for everyone for around $50.00, but if I went to Regal, it would be more like $150.00. When my husband and I want to have a dinner/movie date we spend less than $20 on the movie, it costs more than that to just get tickets at Regal, let alone a drink and candy for us. So yes there are minor issues but if you, like most people, are on a budget but still want to go to the movies, trust me this place is awesome.

Only reason I hate this is because a group of teen girls went to see a movie and I was directly behind them. The lady next to me forcefully grabbed one of the young ladies arms and proceeded to yell at her, saying, "Mam, I need you to be quiet. You have been talking the entire movie and disturbed my peace. Be quiet or else Ill go get Bob." The entire time she was yelling this, she had a firm grip on the childs arm, then proceeded (the yelling woman) to laugh to her friends the rest of the movie. I did not hear the children carrying on during the film; they were very well mannered and behaved. And Im pretty sure "Bob" retired years ago...

Please read this before going here: The people who run this theatre are disgustingly childish, manipulative, and impish. My friend left a bad review, and they made a fake Facebook profile to harass him. They used the profile to pretend some make believe character was there with him at that exact time and saw him act unruly, when he was the only customer there. The front desk girl was rude, and let kids bring in a "seeing eye dog" which was way too small to be registered. Also, none of them had visual impairments nor registration to prove if they did. Its a mess. Just do not go here.

This place is fantastic. I saw Guardians of the Galaxy here in 2014 with my two oldest. Since the sequel was announced they have wanted nothing less than a return trip to "that tiny, little movie theater in the strip mall" to view Vol. 2! Im even more excited than my kids! To afford the movies where I live, I have to take each kid one-on-one to discount viewings. This weekend, Im taking a busload of kids to see GotG2 and Ill still have money left over! God bless this place!

Prices are great, but thats the end of the good things I have to say. The place is dirty and they have very out dated equipment. Last visit I had to ask the people in the projection booth to please lower their voices because of constant chattering. After asking 3 times I decided to just request a refund. Turned out it was one of the managers that was in the booth talking so loudly. Will not be returning.

I have been going to Berkeley Plaza since i was young. Ive ALWAYS found this theater great! Yeah the floors were dirty sometimes. But what do you expect from a place that has kids going in and out of it? People must want employees to go behind every person that walks into the place and sweep&mop. News flash for those who complain.... you DO NOT walk on a RED carpet when you walk in!

Its unfortunate to see that people have had bad experiences here. Sure, sometimes there are a few squeaky chairs, but I havent had any problems with loud people interrupting my movie watching. This is the cheapest place around here, the movie quality is great, and its rarely crowded when I go. I come solely to enjoy a movie, and this place helps me do that.

Yes its affordable. But that doesnt mean the service should be crappy. The theatres are filthy because they refuse to clean in between shows. The bathrooms are disgusting and never have any tissue. The ATM machine is a scam within itself. I dont advise anybody to go to this piece of crap aka hole in the wall called a movie theater!

I was upset about this Theater. Yeah its cheap, but the girls working are very loud complaining about how nothing was recovered the night before. Country music is playing where it is loud to not be able to enjoy horror movie. You can hear other movies that are playing. As far as clean yes its clean. Just cant enjoy a horror flim.

me and my little sister love going to the movies but always had to beg my mom for money to go to regal, now we go to berkeley plaza where we can get a large soda, large popcorn and candy plus our tickets for exactly 20 bucks!! less beggin for us and more money for the next movie! love this place!
