On Friday July 21st, my best friend and I traveled to the Emagine Novi to see the new movie Girls Trip at the early show. This was an attempt to celebrate my birthday and to give me a chance to laugh though an elder in my family whom I was close to passed away a couple of days prior. My best friend recently gave birth to my God daughter a month ago. Thus, we had to bring my sleeping God child with us in her stroller. When we arrived at the theatre, there were zero patrons. No one was at the concession stand, nor were they in line. We thought… PERFECT. We knew we would not disturb any other patrons, though we were sure that my God child would remain sleeping. When we arrived at the ticket booth and informed the attendant what we were there to see, he told us that we could not take our God child into the theatre because they do not permit infants into R rated movies, even if they are covered in a stroller. When I respectfully asked for clarification, I was told that it was just their policy. I stated that does not make any sense, she asleep, the stroller has a cover, she is 4 weeks old, and there is no one else here. Again, we were dismissed, with the distasteful attitude of the attendant. Who later as we were walking out of the theatre, left from behind the counter and walked over to the ticket checker and decided to hold a conversation about me and my friend. It is a shame that in 2017 mothers are still discriminated against. I could even see if we came to an evening show, however though there were no patrons at the noon showing, we were still turned away. My best friend and I, are avid movie watchers. We’ve given the Novi Emagine theatre several dozen visits in the past. Nevertheless, with this decided discrimination, we are not patrons of the AMC. We went to the AMC theatre, and we were welcomed eagerly. They stated that since we were attending a show before 5pm, that we were more than welcome! They even mentioned how on Tuesday evenings, Mothers are encouraged to come and view movies without worrying about disturbing others. We purchased Premiere Memberships because we were impressed with their service, and decided from here on out, we will bring our respective families to AMC theatres from now on. On average, our families view 40 films per year, EACH. As a school administrator, Emagine Novi was the theatre that I brought scholars to view movies for field trips. AMC Theatres will be our venue of choice from here on out. I cannot support a business that discriminates, and/or treats me nastily.

Really gone down hill over the last 2 years in quality. I am a movie buff. Star Trek Beyond broke half way through, Fantastic Beasts looked like the Projector was left on 3D lens because it was a Blurry mess. Rogue One was the last draw. First had to tell them to put the lights down, then all dark scenes had 4 x 4 Black and Dark Blue boxes randomly showing up on screen for the full length of the movie. YOU HAVE TO MAINTAIN YOUR EQUIPMENT! I love the big screen experience but with the lack of cleaning of the projectors I would rather just stay home now and either get a 4K projector or an new OLED Display and wait. Oh and the genius behind the self serve drink station, didnt really think about when its packed and you wait longer at the drink station then the concession line! I am giving a very harsh review because this WAS my favorite theater and cant stand watching it go down the toilet the way it is. TAKE CARE OF YOUR AUDIO VISUAL EQUIPMENT! Ran a theater when I was much younger and watching this place go down hill Audio/Visually wise is horrible. I watched UA Twelve Oaks, and General Cinema go out of business in Novi because quality went down. Hopefully this place can clean up its act before ending up in that category.

Im so excited for the new renovations finally happening here in Novi. Ive been a Loyalty customer for a very very long time with Emagine. My husband and I have made it our mission to visit all the Emagine locations in MI. Im so pleased the Novi location is now beginning to have the wonderful upgrades that other newer established locations have. i.e. The Royal Oak and Macomb locations particularly. We just saw a movie yesterday in theater #16 and truly enjoyed the plush front/rear reclining seating. Jackie Sledz in the bar area epitomizes what FABULOUS customer service is!!! Shes a TRUE ASSET to your company! Im so eager to see the final results. Novi needs this theater...THE BEST around!!! PS As I always forget to bring my Rewards card, they just look my phone# up &. works just fine to take advantage of all the free extras we earn through movie & snack bar purchases!!! Went on Christmas day after previously seeing a movie here one other time.The first time we went, it was wonderful, we got really comfortable seats, it was clean, and a great experience. Unfortunately this last time that was not the case. It was like a completely different place.. the floors were FILTHY. Covered in crumbs and little papers. Our theater was a little tiny room with very basic seating (we came for the nicer feel we got our first time). There were piles of garbage along the walls and no one came in to clean until about 10 minutes before commercials started. The bathrooms were disgusting and when my sister told someone who worked there about it, all she got was a very rude "Oh whatever.". Very disappointing because our first experience was so much different! Never going back to this theater! AMC Livonia or MJR in Brighton are very consistent with friendly service and extremely clean rooms!

Im only giving this review a 3 star because of the lack of attendant(s) policing the "Luxury Seating". Im tired of paying top price for luxury seating when "I" as a customer, constantly have to kick people out of my seat(s) and direct them where to go or whats even worse when there are KIDS sitting there being loud and chatty and you know they did not pay for luxury seating. There was a lady that wanted to argue with me this past visit from a week ago, so I proceeded to show her my tickets. I always go online, purchase my tickets and get the same seats, always. She paid a dollar extra she said, and I said, no, youre in our seats and luxury is more than a dollar and we have assigned seating. With that said, its very clean usually, service other than what I have had to deal with is great. I am disappointed with their self serve for beverages and switching to "Coke" products.

I love Emagine Novi. Great location, easy to get to. The theatre itself is average, though theyve made upgrades in sound and picture (mostly). Matinees showings that arent just the first showing of the day, but extend to roughly 6pm so theres a savings there. The revamped loyalty program is fantastic. The former version had "blackouts" in regards to movies. You couldnt use a free movie on releases in the first couple of weeks. That has changed and you can use them any time you want. People in other reviews have mentioned high concession prices, but tell me a theatre that doesnt? This is where the theatre itself makes money, not off ticket sales. If you dont want to pay $X for popcorn or a soda, then dont buy it. Concessions are not required for admission.
