This place is an overpriced dive. While waiting for our tour we decided to have ice cream at the ice cream parlor. Why they would name an old outdated room from the 70s with paneled walls a parlor is mind boggling and deceiving. Then begins the herding of the visitors into a cement block room (similar to a visit at your local prison) where you wait some more to watch a history video about the so called natural cave that two farmers happened to find while blasting for limestone. Before youre done rolling your eyes about that one the film makes an interesting twist into the world of evolution. Then the group is separated into 2 smaller groups and one group is kept waiting while the other group heads off for the grand tour. Were now up to 25 minutes of nothingness. Once in the cave visitors are captivated by listening to the same history story all over again from a tour guide whose voice is bouncing off the walls of this unattractive natural wonder. Emphasis on wonder as in.. I wonder why the hell I chose this activity on my free time. Actually I do believe the cave was cleaner and more updated than the bathrooms. To take a leap back in time and experience the cave in total darkness, the modern lights are shut off for what seemed plenty long enough for a tour guide to sneak out and smoke some weed. I almost forgot to mention the awesome laser pointer used by the guide to highlight some fault-line that I suppose would be exciting if I were a cat. We left early, but if this is your thing, I highly recommend it.

The cave is beautiful and it has alot of history and unfortunately thats the about the extent of nice things. So some things I think someone should know from mine and my wifes experience. Is that the restaurant is overpriced and alot of the food is just "meh" the chili dog is good though. The store has some cool things and they have good prices. The cave tickets are also overpriced, especially becuase you cant hear the guides becuase of the amount of tours going on at the same time and it moves slow its not a big cave. There was four tours going on at the same time (around 80-100 people) and like I said its not a big cave. The guides do what they can they helpful and funny but theres only so much they can do I actually felt bad. It was a very frustrating experience but they remained professional. All in all I liked the cave not the experience. We thought about asking for a refund but decided to just go home. I hope others have better experiences here becuase it is beautiful and the staff really are nice.

Shook!!!
It was way overpriced (14.50 per person) It started off with us all in a room watching a video about the cave when that was over they led us into the cave where water or food was not allowed they told us not to touch anything because it will stunt the growth and damage of the rocks there but im sure people will do it anaway (Not saying I did LOL) while the tour guides were talking it seemed he started talking about how some of the rocks look like fruits and veggies and certain people (Lincoln) so it made it seem like the tour was more catered to young children we were in pretty big groups so we all had too squeze in a little area eventually the the tour guides were talking about how the cave used too be all dark and decided it would be a good idea too turn off the lights They told too put our hand in front of us and wave it around I end up touching some ladies licey head but she didnt say anything it was quite short for the price that we had too pay but the view and stuff there looked good so three stars.

Crystal cave is really cool. My BF (34) and myself (28) visited with an open mind after reading reviews on yelp and here. the video was very scientific about geology but informative of how the cave was formed and its history of weddings and tourism. The cave had little bats (nocturnal of course), cool rooms with crystals, and other geological formations. Granted the concrete walkway and metal staircases take away from its natural form, but its still neat. They turn the lights out for a minute which is the best part. Worth the $12.95 tour. Gift shop is good for kids...all made in China

it starts out with a 13 minute video of some history of the cave, followed by about a 45 minute tour after. The cave is beautiful, (and a bit chilly, because it is underground. it stays about 55 degrees) and the history is interesting, but our tour guide was a little annoying. I would have preferred to been able to just slowly walk through and take in the cave myself. The tour would be good for small children. the tour guide reiterated what was said in the video, and had some cave puns to go along with it. Id recommend checking it out if youre not too far from Crystal Cave.

A sign had caught our eye while driving. We had time and said what the heck. We were expecting a boring type of attraction but were surprised to find such a great tour/ adventure. It cost the same as all the parks/ attractions in Pa(12.50$). There was a guided tour with a video before the tour about how caves form and the origins of crystal cave. Our tour guide was great and kept our interest. They also have a souvenir shop with cheap prices compared to other places. Unfortunately the trail was closed but it was a awesome time. We loved it!

We had a good time, 2 adults and two 14 yo teens. Group of 25, we had plenty of room and tour guide Brenda was great- she was engaging and answered everyones questions. I would have liked a little more time to look around but didnt feel too rushed- theres just a lot to see. Id bring a flashlight next time though. If you have grand expectations of climbing around on your own and having an adventure, this isnt for you. We had a great time and will go back.

Very interesting place with a rich history, especially for the area. If youre looking for caves like you see on the internet, you might be disappointed. This cave has some great formations and full and detailed stories are given in the tour about almost every formation and room. I would absolutely recommend going here at least one time. Also a great way to cool off on a hot summer day (Cave is 54F).

Was a unique experience. I felt for what it was, it was significantly overpriced. 15.00 for an adult for a 15 min video and what felt like a very rushed tour through the cave. You will not be afforded the opportunity to stop and take any meaningful pictures due to the amount of people crammed in for a tour. If you lag behind there is an equally large group right behind yours shooing you along.

Take it from a real caver; there is nothing to see in Crystal Cave, except for the stuffed animals in their "museum". The largest body of water in the cave (aka "lake Superior", I think), can hold as much as a cup of water. Serves a didactic primer into the world of caves, but the cave itself is no big attraction. Cave ornaments are rare to non-existant.
