The fish themselves come in okay condition, however I had a total of 3 die on my from what I belive as bloat.. I had paid the extra $25 per species to get a 4 fish colony...when I received them...they are obviously unsexed juveniles. I had 4 yellow labs...one looked like a male and the rest female...I now have atleast three yellow labs males. I can understand that its not the companys fault for not knowing the sex....but perhaps if someone pays $100 dollars extra to have sexed fish, then maybe send her older than juveniles. Anyway, I get my package on time via fed ex... ordered 16 mbuna. One is doa and one of my snails is doa. I emailed with pictures within 10 minutes of receiving the package...after two hours and no reply, I call. The man is very rude and eager to get off the phone with me. His response to why there hadnt been a response to my email was "yeah I havent been back to the computer in a while"... after an awkward silence on the phone I say goodbye thinking he will definitely respond now and tell me what will happen regarding my dead pets....NOPE! I didnt hear anything for a week! I finally chalked it up as a learning experience and that this company is just out for money and not for the fish they ship. While getting my mail...a week after... I notice a box...what does it say? LIVE FISH!! I race inside, open up the hot box to find tons of heating pads and one lonely bag with a fish (the wrong fish that I asked for!) But still a fish... I became so angry...and sad.. I checked my email multiple times...and my cell phone... no calls. No emails. To let me know the poor guy was coming. So I spent all day at college while he sat in my mailbox on a sunny day and boiled. As to why they decided to change the shipping route they normally use? Idk.. perhaps it was cheaper for them. emailed the company once more.... never a sorry... never anything. I have never heard any response from anyone regarding the fish deaths. So please. Order from a company that is responsive and cares about their customers but most importantly about the fish they ship! I am a real customer. I bought $198 worth of livestock, and I will never do it again from this company. -Hailey woehl.

Scammers. There misrepresent their shipping and charges as well as their stock. You pay their almost 50 doller shipping for overnight (as the website says thats all they guarantee) then they try to ship yer live animals 2-day(even after you tell them multiple times not to).. So they can pocket the cash. Dont call and complain or you get insulted and hung up on. They wont answer you calls after that. When you threatn to complain to BBB or social media..they say "thanks for the free advertising". Way to many honest businesses out there to waste time or money with clowns like these.

Worst fish supplier on the internet! Fish arrive DOA, parasite laden, and or female when extra has been spent for male! The worst African Cichlids Ive ever received! STAY AWAY!!!!! My response to the owner.... My full name is Benjamin Rainey- Wright and you shipped to me twice with horrid results both times. Ill take money as refund but I dont want your fish anywhere near my healthy tank set-ups. I wont be holding my breathe waiting for a monetary refund. Your just responding online to act like you care.

Ordered 14 small African Ciclids and they arrived in perfict health, are doing great and I have not lost a single one ... amazing given the quantity! Packaging was great. Further, the owner is readily available by phone and is extremely helpful and friendly. I would recommend them to all aquarium hobbyists. There is real merit in getting fish directly from the breeder as they are only stressed by one move, not two, given that they are not first shipped to a retailer.

Great fish and service! I have been buying from these guys for years and on those rare occasions I have had a fish loss, they have replaced them at no charge. This is the only supplier I deal with that does that, everyone else only wants to give me a credit or refund me. I think there fish tend to be a little small sometimes but I have had that issue with everyone I deal with online.

I have been buying fish from Bluegrass Aquatics for six years. I have always found the quality of their fish good and the selection of species is amazing. I dont know how they consistently have more varieties of both freshwater and saltwater as well as oddball not found anywhere else. I just received two Mbu puffers (giant freshwater puffers) that are simply awesome. Thanks you!!!

Great Fish I bought enough African Cichlids to fill a 125 gallon. Most of what I got was 2 inch with a few a half inch bigger. All fish were healthy and ate like hoggs the next day. Will buy from again.
