I prefer ALSM in Asheville for my aquarium needs. As an "intermediate" hobbyist with several years experience, I pretty well know what I want to do with my setup, and they always make sure Im thinking about drawbacks, risks, etc. of my goals without telling me what I HAVE to do, in a humiliating manner. If I were a new hobbyist, I believe they would be super helpful and ethical about what they sell me for my budget/setup. I also like the fact that they order stuff for me, and actually make the order, and promptly communicate that it is in. Thanks!

I had been having issues with cloudiness in my tank after my last water change. I described my symptoms to the owner and he had just the thing. I added the stuff to my tank and within a couple of days it was crystal clear again. Note: He sells fresh and salt water supplies, but only saltwater fish.

We do not live near Ashville .But stopped by to look because we are wanting to get a tropical aquarium. The tanks were cleaner than any fish store I have ever been in.And the guy was so helpful answering all our questions.

Twice now I have made the trip to Asheville, 50 miles round trip, only to find the they are not open during the hours that they advertise. Do yourself a favor, find another lfs.
