I wish I could give this place 0 stars!!! It wreaks of mildew and mold, I am constantly sneezing and Im only allergic to cats.....it isnt stadium style seating so everyone has to look straight ahead over everyones heads. I feel like Im sitting in a theater where people from the 20s died in here.....this is like a theater straight from the Disney movie Halloweentown. Surprised this place hasnt shut down from all the complaints. Its just nasty. I WILL NOT BE BACK. I only came to this one cause the movie we wanted to see started at 7:20pm and 8:00pm at the other 2 locations in Pcola and we didnt wanna wait that late to see the movie. It wouldve been worth the extra 40 minute wait to go to a more updated 21st century style theater.....Im sitting in the theater now and want so bad to just complain to an employee about the smell in here but I truly feel like theyve heard it a million times before so Im not going to bother. Went to lift up the arm rest to snuggle up to my man, and couldnt because it doesnt lift up like normal ones do....I seriously cant stop sneezing, this place has made me sick. I wasnt sneezing before we came here....also my popcorn was 1/2 burned and the soda was almost flat as if it needed to be changed in the machine

Let me first state the good that Ive experienced. The theater was clean and seemed well maintained. The bathrooms were spotless and the staff was nice. The movie screen was viewable and the seats were not uncomfortable. So why am I giving such a low rating? Ive always known food and drink are quite outrageous at the movies but to what extreme I was not prepared for. Their drink machine was out so if you wanted to enjoy a beverage you have only the choice of a few 20 oz bottled drinks which could run you up to $1.81 at walmart or $2.50 depending on the vending machine. At Carmikes, however, the same bottled beverage costs a whopping $4.50. And yet if you wanted to get a combo their sign posted claimed $2.00. So why is there such a huge jump in price? $21 for a large bucket of popcorn but thats a lot of popcorn and its refillable. My 20 oz drink for $4.50 was not. So prices are high... whatever. How about the smell though? They could easily TRY to mask the smell of mildew. Sure the building is old but some air fresheners would do a world of good. Made me wonder if there was black mold in those walls it was so strong. It was rather distracting. For those two reasons that is why there is such a low score.

i used to go to this theater alot when i lived in pcola. the seats are real comfterbal with extera leg room. the average screens expand a little when the movey starts and the sound is great. the movies are first run and digital just like at the rave but unlike the rave you can usaly have the entire auditoriom to yourself. the prices are also a little cheeper. the snack bar has great popcorn and drinks but it can be a bit pricy unless you take advantage of their popcorn bucket refill deal. the theater is hard to spot. the entrance road is between the applebees and the mcdonnalds on 9 mile road. worth the drive if you live in the north half of pcola and its closer than the rave. also pro+con you dont have to worry about missing the begining of the movey because they play about 20 minutes of comercials.

I was really hoping this theater would work for my family because it is at least 10 minutes closer, plus I dont have to use the expressway to get there. The tickets were a little pricier, the popcorn was much more expensive ($8.25 for an large plus they charge you another $3.50 for a refil on 7-22-12). The staff was friendly, courteous, and well organized. Here is the problem. We went into the theater and immediately we were hit by the strong smell of mold and mildew. It was obvious they had tried to cover the odor up with that stuff they use to clean filthy gas station bathrooms. We couldnt stand the stench and ended up leaving the theater before the movie was even half over. Thanks, but Ill stick to Rave Motion Pictures.

If I could, I would give this place no stars. On top of being a tiny, beyond outdated place, it is disgusting here. We came for a late showing & there was barely anyone here and the staff still didnt bother to clean the food and trash off the floors in the main area. Then we walk down the hall and smell a combination of port-a-potty, old museum, and mildew as we entered the theater. To top it off, as we waited for the movie to start, a gigantic cockroach scurried along the floor. As I went to search for it (& see how many friends it has) I notice that the staff left food and trash from the last movie. I bet that helps the cockroach situation...our movie started late. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone.

Idk if theres a deliberate bash thing going on but I have to write; this is an older theatre but has always been good to us. Ive never seen it dirtier than any other cinema. Its not as hot or as crowded as Bayou 15 & the staff is nice to you. Theres nice, old style seating in lobby (on purpose, its vintage for effect) which I love. It feels safer than Carmike 18 ever did. The seating is the same as most places, movies run fine. Id love if they still gave disabled people a free movie or if prices were lower, but thats everywhere. This is a good place n usually not crowded, which probably means less staff but I like the trade off.

I could of looked past it being out dated, but the smell of mildew is awful. Our movie started at 9:55pm and is about 2 hours long, about an hour in my fiancé goes out for popcorn to be told the concession stand is closed????!!! Its Friday, so the teenagers working are probably trying to get out of here early. Cant blame them. These seats are uncomfortable and look like they belong in my great great grandmothers house. On the upside there is barely anyone here so you have your choice of seats. Needs to be completely renovated! !

Who ever said this theater was "cozy" must enjoy riding public transportation. The Movie theater is very outdated and smelled terribly like mold in the actual theater. Pretty sure the founding fathers sat in the same seats we did; there were rips and torn patches in the seats. The theater is almost entirely flat, no stadium seating whatsoever. A mans head, who sat 6 rows in front of me, was actually blocking a bottom part of the screen!

The employees at this theater are all so sweet and nice. it might not be the big upscale movie theater but everyone treats you wonderful. the popcorn is so amazing and I could eat buckets full with their amazing butter. They have a bucket that You pay 17.00 for and you can reuse it all year for 3.50 and free refills after you buy the first one. Also great movie deal.

Ive been going to carmike since i was in middle school, and it wasnt super busy back then, but now? Its always empty! And the prices are cheaper than the rave, even though they play the same first run movies. Yeah, its not as flashy as the rave, and yeah the theater seats arent epic like the rave. But for the price, I rarely go to the rave at all anymore.
