The zoo portion was nice, we even spent $300 there on tickets, donations, food and gift shop ,but when we entered the gift shop, we were meet with hostility by and old, blonde headed lady named Lynn who should be retired by the lack of customer service and etiquette she bestows on families who visit the gift shop. When we entered the gift shop 4 kids and 4 adults, mind you we all stayed with our children, LYNN started to followed us and kept harassing my 7 year old niece by telling her with a raised voice to pay for her things and after the 3rd time of telling Lynn, that her items were paid for already and that we were still looking she decided to tell me that paid items would be in a bag!!! Lynn then verbally attacked my brother when he tried to show her the recipet. I than let Lynn know that she should approach kids and families differently instead of harassing them and she proceeded to be super rude and told me all kids steal and that she would say what she wanted and do what she wanted. I then asked for a manager and she identified herself as the manager of the zoo, but turns out she is the gift shop manager, I than asked for a card or phone number of someone above her she stormed off into the back room and came back 10 minutes later with the manager of the zoo portion, but was told basically they could not do anything but pass it along !! We will not be returning to Naples zoo, and we almost paid for yearly passes, but thank god we didnt! . We are truly dissapointed and disgusted with our experience. If you want a good experience with good customer service "The Shell factory" is the way to go..

This isnt a large zoo, for better or worse, and there arent tons of animals to see. On the other hand, nearly all of the animals that ARE there happened to be very active -- with the exception of the sleeping lions -- and fun to watch. We did have a few surprises of the less welcome variety: the price posted in the brochures and on the website was lower than what we were charged on entry. Additionally, a bottle of water did not cost the $2.00 advertised on the case of the vending machine, but $3.00. Its actually rather expensive compared to other (larger) zoos that Ive been to around the country. On the other hand, there arent a lot of additional charges beyond drinks and food once youre inside. You can pay $5 to feed the giraffes if you want, but attending the live demonstrations and educational events is free. The mini-cruise around the lake is fun and (yay!) included in the zoo admission fee. I think it took us 15 or 20 minutes from start to finish, but the guide/helmsman was quite good. The staff we encountered were all friendly, knowledgeable, even charismatic on occasion. Visiting the (locally) famous Florida Panther named Uno was a real treat. What a cool animal, dont miss him or his feeding time demonstration! He was very vocal during our visit, too. Overall its a great, though smaller and somewhat more expensive place to spend a few hours. The longer you spend, the more worthwhile it becomes (you can ride the boat multiple times without a fuss or any extra charges, although we did not do that). Note: so many animals have fenced enclosures that getting pictures is sometimes frustrating.

Unfortunately we had been disappointed by another zoo and the lack of animals but Naples Zoo was a truly beautiful experience. They really thought out this zoo layout. I cant really even call it a zoo but more of a preservation for the animals. First of all, the grounds (plants and trees) give beautiful scenery and some good shade as well. The grounds are well maintained. You can feed the birds along the way and for the kiddies they can change their coins into zoo coins. Although the zoo is small I actually preferred it because we were able to see all of the animals and most of the shows in half the time it usually takes to walk a zoo. They also had shows that allowed you to see and get more information on some of the animals outside of their areas. The boat ride to see the monkeys is also very peaceful. You can feed the giraffes for $5 as well (those giraffes are HUGE!). It was well worth the trip and we saw most of the animals! There is also a food store and a gift shop. We got a giraffe necklace and flamingo earrings (too cute!). They do a great job with this zoo!

My party showed up on the First Saturday… AKA… FREE ADMISSION DAY FOR ALL COUNTY RESIDENTS (although it’s easy to find coupons for non-residents). Despite this situation (and free parking!) this small ZOO NEVER FELT CROWDED. The only possible line will be for the one ‘ride’- the BOAT TO VIEW THE PRIMATES ISLANDS and offers great views of them in a lively habitat (included with admission). All animal exhibits have enough viewing areas to satisfy everyone. But with the exception of the Gators and Primates area, MOST ANIMAL EXHIBITS SEEMED SMALL and made me think ‘Free Willy.’ The young staff who led the animal show were great at their performance—but I think we only saw 6 (?) animals the whole show. At least they’re animals without permanent exhibits. Don’t come too hungry—there’s a SMALL FOOD MARKET INSIDE and little kiosks scattered throughout, but that’s it.

Very nice zoo. Most of the zoos ive been to in my life are huge all day events. The Naples Zoo is much smaller and I didnt expect much but it turns out that smaller may be better. It was very manageable for our young children. They had basically everything you could want from a zoo animal wise just in a more compact beautifully landscaped setting. The boat tour was very well done and only took about 15 minutes. Seeing the monkeys and apes in a completely cage free environment was very nice. As for the food choices it was a little underwhelming. Hot dogs and popcorn were about as crazy as it gets here. I think you would be better off bringing in some food or heading over to the mall for something after. But the prices werent totally out of line so if you do decide to eat at the zoo you wont spend a fortune.

This place is a mixed bag of affairs; on the positive, the layout is very cleans and flows well for a small zoo. Also the koi carp and turtle pond as you enter the zoo was a welcome piece for my child. On the less positive side the staff were either told a well loved animal had just died or they gave the appearance that they didnt care about much. The zoo closes at 5pm yet they were closing exhibits at 3pm, giving the appearance that they wanted everyone to leave and the Q&A with the tiger handler was more about giving the least "A" as possible. This place lacks passion and possibly dedication therefore I do not recommend this place and think it a waste of money ($20 per adult, $12 per child which is about the same as zoos twice the size)
