I really enjoyed this place. It was nice and spaced out. easy to get around in it unlike some other zoos ive been to. A nice collection of animals and a vast majority of them were extremely active and playful. The gorillas looked very pathetic though. I was a little concerned about them. The cats slept around the whole time but If you are a cat owner and/or know about the ways of the cat then this is not a shock. The bears were extremely entertaining as were the Primates (excluding the Gorillas). When I was there they were rebuilding the Elephant Exhibit and the Tiger exhibit I believe so I wasnt able to see them. What I found really interesting is that you can go into one of the exhibits and practically touch the bald eagle. It was uncaged and right in front of you! very cool. I was able to see a nice variety of animals that I havent seen before and Alot of the exhibits are "in your face" close to you. Its really neat. Its not the biggest zoo I must say but you definitely get what you pay for which is just a meager 10 bucks. You cant beat that! I suggest, if possibe, and if you are lucky enough to see them play, seeing the Allen Swamp monkeys and the Sloth Bears. These are the guys that really intrigued us when we went there. very playful and entertaining. This zoo offered a nice variety of shows and entertainment also but we very into the animals and forgot all about them. Another thing I found that was very cool is that they have a medical laboratory you can tour and look at all the untensils, medicines, etc. On top of that, If you are lucky and/or they have a showing, they sometimes do examinations or even surgeries and you can watch them do it! Its really neat. we saw the surgery room and the woman that was there explained a little bit about what they do there as well as shared with us a few amusing anectodes. The things I didnt like about this place was the Gorilla Exhibit. As Ive stated before, the gorillas looked pathetic. maybe its nothing and hopefully that is the case; and their confinement didnt look like anything spectacula,r especially due to the fact that a review or reviews raved about it. I was disappointed a bit. I was also a bit disappointed in their aquatic area. Not much to see there I didnt think and the Exhibit itself is nothing to hail. The rainforest was for the most part very small and very boring. that about sums that up. This place does have some nice additions to the park that are unique to itself. They have a fun little tree house you can climb up which is elaborately set up. It had a suspension bridge, waterfalls, and also a slide for the kids. Aside from that they had a neat zig zaggin trail up to the cats, primates, and aquatics. But If you didnt want to take the walk up there the shuttles they have available in the park takes you up there and is a nice accommodation. Other things worth mentioning are the petting zoo and the australian out back, which includes numerous sets as well as a trainride that tours through the area Overall I highly recommend this place when youre passing through or around the area. I dont think you will be disappointed Pros - Tree house, suspension bridge, waterfalls, and slide Easily Navigable up Close and Personal exhibits the Australian Outback Unique Animals Great price Very lively and happy animals Wide variety of shows and events Cons - A lot of the staffers were teenagers with a "my mommy made me do this" attitude about them. We are so blessed to have such a great zoo here in Cleveland! I have an adult daughter with special needs and that is her favorite place in the world. We have had a family membership there for nearly 20 years so that we can take her often. We probably make a zoo visit about once every six weeks. Sometimes we will take the 30-minute drive there just to sit and watch the elephants for an hour and come home again. The grounds are beautiful. We love the carousel! The Cat, Primate & Aquatics building is in desperate need of renovation, but its a great place to hang out when the weather is lousy. The Rainforest is another terrific place to explore when its cold and rainy - making the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo a wonderful family destination year-round - and educational too. Many of the habitats have been updated and naturalized for the benefit of the animals and great care has been taken to provide enrichment activities and stimulation. Lots of fun activities for the kiddos. Head over to Australian Adventure for a train ride, rope bridge, snake slide, petting zoo, camel rides and more! Lots of picnic areas if you want to pack your own. McDonalds, Pizza Hut and other eateries on site. Very accessible and there are trams to help you get around. A wonderful destination for all ages, all abilities, and all weather. Spend an hour, spend the day.

Id say overall we had a decent experience but we thought it was lacking. The lay out is crazy! You can walk for 10 minutes and not see a thing, its not that the animals are in the shade hiding from the heat but there are LONG stretches of absolutely nothing! If you have small children your either pushing them in a stroller till your so tired you cant take it or they are walking till they are. Then you get to lunch time and think ok lets support this place and the work they are doing but the only decent food is all the way back where you started. Are you kidding me? Top it of with a map that makes as much sense as my 5 year old trying to tell me which way to go and shes never been there and could have done a better job. The employees were giving us bad advice on how to get places and the train ride would be way better if they would just tell you what was really there instead of some fake story they made up about Australia. They do have a nice range of animals and the Lorikeets were a great experience. I do have to say my child is sound asleep from the crazy amount of walking we had to do. I also like that we got 50% off our admission for being members at the Pittsburgh Zoo.

Been going here litterally all my life and I am 51 now...well, we went today 9/19/2016 for 1 more memory as life is fading...well, the second we get there the crossing gal stopped us to let folks cross which is not the problem..the problem was her attitude as I am disabled and asked to be let off there as we were stopped anyway..well, I was out and going to sit and wait for my wife to park, so I would not have had to walk..we were then going to rent a electric wheelchair..well, this Crossing guard starts screaming at me to get back in the car, as drop of was 2 inches up...I laughed, thought she MUST be joking.. well, she screamed again to get back in the car..well, I said mam, I cant as I am in a lot of pain..big deal..she continued yelling and the embaressment was horrible..I have "END STAGE LYMPHEDEMA" my legs are dying as is the rest of me..the stage is called Elephantitus..hmmm...go figure..anyhow..we did get the cart..saw 2 animals as they all seem to be sleeping, they do have a great union..lol..anyhow..the way she treated me ....well..hurt... bad and I am very upset...oh well.... soon an very soon I will see the LION OF JUDAH...agape.
