Let me start with the fact that I havent riden a bike in over 20 years, So I had some trepedation on my ability to ride 10 miles. But, i am happy to report that it was "just like riding a bike". I was pleasantly surprised at how relaxed and enjoyable this ride was. Leigh broke up the trip by stopping at the most interesting and unusual places along the Riverside/Avondale route and giving a vivid descriptions of thier historical and colorful past. This is a great activity to do as a group. It is not competative and you can easily ride aside your friends and chat away until the bike bell rings and you are called to attention to a cool point of interest. Great activity. If you are in to turn of the century architecture (especially Prairie style) then this is a MUST-DO tour. We saw so many beautiful examples designed by Prairie School architects as well as other styles: Queen Anne, Shingle style, Bungalow, Tudor, Jacobin, and others... I had no idea that Jacksonville had such a rich architectural history! And Leigh was a terrific bike guide! I cannot rave about her more. She was full of interesting facts and knowledge, super-friendly, and very prepared... she provided us with an excellent morning, and we are looking forward to returning to Jacksonville to do one of her other tours. What a great way to spend a morning in Jacksonville - leisurely biking around the neighborhoods of Riverside-Avondale with my college roommates and a couple locals!!..Got a bit of exercise so felt less guilty about the wining and dining later in the day, plus learned about the history of this part of town, enjoying the sights and fragrant flowers, and had lots of fun along the way. Leigh was a fabulous, knowledgable, and fun tour guide which made it all the better. Cant wait to try one of e2rides other tours next time Im in town. Its a definite must do!!
