We ate there twice due to the proximity to our room, and both times we had the same experience. The breakfast food is above average (the omelette is excellent), and they have a nice view of the beach. However I have to knock down the place down 2 stars because the staff there act like the customers are a nuisance, even to go so far as to give dirty looks and make noticeable groans when they feel frustrated with a customer. The hostesses though are the worst in particular... today I saw the older hostess make a spectacle of herself when she was supposed to be escorting an elderly woman to her table and the elderly woman could not move as fast as she wanted...aggressive body motions, long drawn out sighs, and rolling her eyes. The bartender mixed my mimosa with too much champagne, so when I politely asked for a splash of orange juice she overfilled it sending oj running down the glass onto the table and instead of at least cleaning it up she said nothing, put the oj away, and left. Im fairly certain there is no manager working there, or at least one that cares. Despite the food being quite good, I cant stand being around those people anymore. If youre looking for a drink with your buddies then this place is pretty much like the rest, but dont bring parents here, or anyone elderly.

I am a fire fighter who was asking to possibly take donations for the fire fighters who died in the line of duty on Sept 11th. I spoke with the new owner Jan who and I quote stated, " why cant they just get over it." She was talking about the fire fighters who died in the line of duty. I explained the money goes to support the families of falling fire fighters to help support their familes. Jan not so kindly told me she does not support us and we should get over Sept. 11th. I am a regular at the cottage and the place is wonderful. The staff is great and always good to be served by, however, the new owner has alot to learn about just "getting over" Sept. 11th. I lost many good friends who I graduated the academy with up north. I hope the word gets around about Jan and what she said.

Going to give this place a solid "Meh." Our service was slow even though there were very few tables sat. It took a while to get our food ordered, then over a half hour before we got our entres (no appetizers.) I ordered my grouper sandwich blackened but it was only fried... I was too hungry at that point to send it back. My mothers medium-rare steak was overcooked, and steamed broc undercooked. The salad bar was pretty par for the course. The only saving grace was the view--it was fun to watch people stroll up and down the shoreline. Im not one for negative reviews but I just dont think it was worth the price. Maybe we just chose the wrong items from the menu. Sorry. :/

Three stars mostly for the view. If youre looking for a gulf view while dining this is decent and thats what youll pay for. The food isnt over the top but not horrible. Very overpriced for what they offer. Not much atmosphere but you could probably watch the sunset while dining here. We ate early. Weve mostly been underimpressed with the gulf side restaurants in FM. The better food is found on the bay, which is a shame and a waste of one of the most beautiful beaches in the state. Nothing like Sharkys in Panama City Beach where you can sit at the beach on the gulf, listen to live music, and still eat great food with great service.

I cant speak on the quality of food, because I was just killing some time waiting for family to arrive at the beach. It was hot outside and wanted a cocktail and seen this place. Wow I wasnt impressed at all. We waited way to long at bar just to order a drink. Finally when the bartender came to ask us what we wanted she wasnt friendly at all. Seemed like something was on her mind, slight attitude. My mix drink was crappie should have known when she walked to the back to make it, my mothers beer was atleast cold. They clearly werent busy in my eyes, but whatever live and learn.

This place is only good for drunken foods. When you are drunk and cant taste foods. My wife is on a limited diet due her cancer treatment. The Waitress was not with it that day. We spent 10 minutes explaining the situation she did not listen at all. The food the received was burnt, and gross. I would have rather of gone to Hooters for better food. The water front view was the only nice thing. There are many different places to choose that would be serve better food.

Great food and drinks! Came here for Fathers day for brunch with the kids. Food options were great and plentiful. The view of the beach is great. Theres outdoor seating available but not covered. The bathrooms are clean with even a unisex option in addition to the womens and mens. Theres very limited if any parking here so we parked in a pay lot a short walk away. The beach is easily accessible from the restaurant. Wed definitely come back!

Didnt think to write a review untill I saw how many people have viewed the picture. This place is right on the beach off the main drag in Ft Myers. Very friendly wait staff. I had a GREAT Grouper sandwich the first time I stopped in. It was so good I brought the wife back a few days later for a beautiful lunch. Nothing beats an awesome fish taco on the beach with an ice cold adult beverage. I WILL RETURN!!!!!

Usually like to visit the Cottage for awesome beach bread and a great Grouper sandwich. But on this occasion, the Rum Runners were way too sweet and our waitress was waaay too slow. Im told the mens restroom only has urinals? What if you have to go #2??? The deck & stairs were ripped out so you could not walk down to the beach. And Gulfshore Grill is currently closed for major renovations.

Went for T-giving. Never got waited on after we were seated - over half an hour. Every table around us was served- it was like we were invisible. We came here before for T-giving, it was good, but this was horrible, Ill be sure to tell everyone that asks me how our dinner was, or wasnt, since we walked out. Ok, we were the 1st table of 2 from the south end, against the windows, 2:30.

Very nice dinner, great salad bar, and good margaritas!!! We both had the shrimp special. Our waitress was very nice, even apologizing for a very loud family with loud, screaming children!! She hustled them through as quick as she could!! Nice table with big windows looking out at the beach. I will definitely come back if we are in Ft Myers again!!!

I hosted my morning-after custom menu wedding brunch here three years ago. The team was incredibly accommodating, food was delicious, and the price was more than reasonable. We are still talking about the fantastic "beach bread"!!!
