Probably the worst dining experience Ive ever had. This was on Valentines Day. My girlfriend and I had a table at the Gamekeeper but couldnt make it due to road conditions, so we ended up here. No greeting at all when we walked in and no service. Stood at the door wondering if we were supposed to seat ourselves, as there was no hostess or sign that said "seat yourselves." Girlfriend had to go to the bar and request a menu. I had to go to the bar and order the food and drinks. After the food came, we never recieved any additional service. Not even water. All the while, the server was chatting it up with the people at the table directly next to us. The wings I ordered had clearly been cooked long ago and, instead of being tossed in sauce, were clearly put in the basket and then covered in sauce; there was no sauce on the underside of the wings. My fries never came. When I inquired about the fries, I was told that they were not part of my order even though I said "and a side of fries." Waitress tried to "make up for it" by giving me the employee discount, which everyone knows is a ruse to get more in tips. She then said that the "confusion" was my fault, because "when you guys walked in you didnt say anything." It is ridiculous to think that paying customers need to provide for themselves. Apparently she doesnt know that she works in the service industry. On Valentines Day. When a couple walks in. I went to the Boone location from the day that it opened to the day that I graduated. However, I will never go to this location again and will definitely not recommend it.

We ate lunch here today. The place was amazingly busy, partly due to town activities, and partly just because it seems a popular place. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. It was about 20 minutes before our food arrived, which is fine, but it wasnt our food. The waitress realized as she was placing things on the table, and quickly pulled it back. About 10 or so minutes later we finally got our order, but it wasnt quite right. Our soups were also cold as if they had been sitting. We let it go and just ate. Our appetizer actually arrived as we were finishing lunch and it wasnt hot either. Our waitress only checked on us once but she realized what happened, and removed the appetizer from our bill, which was a great move. Very much appreciated. The thing that bothered us the most was that someone who appeared to be the manager, was mostly focused on his friends and making sure they were all set. He was oblivious to the chaos happening around him. His attention to them even frustrated the bartender as he pushed her for their drinks. She was madly overwhelmed and his only question was where their drinks were. Overall, it was clear the staff, especially the manager, just couldnt process the amount of people in there very well. It was to the point that most people were noticing. The food seemed like it would have been good if it was what we ordered and wasnt cold, but the crazy service just turned us off. Its probably worth trying if youre near there, but we will not be back.

We went in for dinner last night. As we walked in I asked one of the waitresses "Just seat ourselves?" and she said "Definitely." And we did just that. Sitting there for ten minutes I got up and grabbed our own menus and got ourselves started. The other waitress did not come out once until then, she came over asked if we needed drinks, if we ready, and walked off. Now its time to order...they dont have the 2 things I wanted to order. So I got the biggest burger there (it was overlooked) and fries (fries were amazing!)...waitress came out a moment after the food was brought out before anyone took a bite, asked if everything was okay and disappeared. So there I waited, again. I just wanted some mayonnaise and onions for the burger so I pretty much just ate fries and watched people eat as I waited. I literally flagged her down by the bar and she caught me out of the corner of her eyes, let her know I was in need of...and showed her I was waiting nicely with a little joke. She didnt get the hint. Finished eating, paid, and left. In the car my girlfriend literally asked me if the waitress was "...trying to be mean and it seemed like she did not want us to be there..." Wow, what a great feeling someone should have leaving the restaurant. As I am writing this I realize I was in plain sight under the tv in the bar, not even near the back where I almost sat us originally.

My wife and I went to eat at the Town Tavern in Blowing Rock on this beautiful Sunday afternoon. Got there and gave the hostess our name and asked to sit on the outside patio. Only waited about 5 minutes before we were called to be seated. We were seated and the waitress took our drink orders. We only ordered water and she immediately brought our drinks out and said she would give us a chance to look at the menu. As we waited for someone to take our order other patrons were seated and orders taken. We waited 25 minutes and no one ever came back to us. It would not have been so bad but the waitresses were waiting on peoples dogs that they had with the on the patio by bring them bowls of water. That was ok but in the meantime I had drank all of my water and could not get a refill. The food looked good and smelled great but after 25 minutes we got up and left. We had made a special trip from Bristol, TN to eat there and ended up driving to Banner Elk to eat. Very disappointing and a wasted trip.

Came here after hiking. Arrived about 1 PM on a Sunday. It was about 45 minute wait for a table for 8. We sat on the patio which had enough umbrellas to keep us nicely shaded. The server was prompt to take and deliver our drink order. It was a reasonable wait to get our food considering how crowded it was. The server got all our orders correct. Everyone enjoyed their meal. My chicken parmesan sandwich was good. The prices were reasonable. The inside of the restaurant is dark and cozy. They have a well stocked full service bar. The restroom is for one person at a time. Would be nice to have a bigger one.

This is like Hooters down below. Service was okay if youd rather have eye candy than a full glass of tea. Well it all depends on if you have a thirst. The food was good. Cocktails well I felt like they didnt know what they were doing. I ordered off the drink menu and they acted like I grew two heads. The bartender even had to look at the menu. And it wasnt like they had a big selection to choose from. Lol I would consider going back for another visit. Maybe in the winter time the hot little waitresses dont have to wear Short short shorts. Lol

Burgers and corndogs were very good for lunch. Had the volcano burger and was very good with a side of homemade pasta salad. Also had a beer.. my first selection was out and the server recommended something else on tap. Thinking it should have been the same price it was not.. it was $8 for a glass of beer compared to the $4 .. was a little ticked off that I was not told about the difference. Besides that... Seems like a good menu selection, cool atmosphere, and good for families too.
