We visited the Peterson Air and Space Museum today and it was great! An older veteran gave us a tour of the entire facility and his stories were just as fascinating as the planes and missiles themselves! There are a little over a dozen airplanes to see, missile exhibits, history exhibits, and other little tidbits throughout the buildings. From getting to go inside the big Constellation radar aircraft, to seeing the beautifully restored P47 and other exhibits, this was well worth it! The museum is 100% free but does accept donations, which we were happy to do. Frankly, we thought our money was better spent donating here then paying for admission at the disappointing Wings Over the Rockies museum in Denver. By the way, non-military visitors are welcome and able to get on base! Simply call the museum with the date that you would like to visit (at least 24 hours minimum notice required) and they will ask you for more information. On the day of your visit you will stop by the Peterson West Gate and go in to the visitors center to obtain your pass. Youll need a drivers license for anyone over 16, proof of registration, and proof of insurance. Enjoy your visit!

Very friendly staff!!! Very eager to offer information. Cool to look around, but far better are the stories offered by these volunteers. Make sure to request permission from either the website or a phone call 24 hours before your visit. Drive carefully throughout this base, the on-base police will be watching! Overall worth the trip. I will add pictures once I can grab them from the camera.

The main entrance is a small indoor section with very nice restrooms and a small gift shop with actual decent prices. The staff is super friendly and our guide was Joe who made the trip awesome. There are a lot of planes outside so sunscreen is a good idea if you burn easy. I thought the hanger items were the most cool, highly recommend you include them in your visit.

This is a free museum, be sure to ask to go inside the large plane outside and get the guided tour - all free. This requires you to enter the Air Base so be prepared to provide documentation to get a pass unless you are retired or active military

This place is fantastic, it was made so much better by our guide Gus. He was a walking encyclopedia of space and aviation history. The time, information and stories he shared with us were above and beyond.

Neat collection of historical Air Force equipment that is staffed with friendly and knowledgeable docents. I budgeted 2 hours here but could have easily spent twice that amount of time at the museum.

I took my 18 month old son and brother here and we had a blast! The tour guides, Mike and Jake were awesome! If you havent checked this place out you should!

It was a nice museum. It is a little small and a bit of a hassle to get onto the base, but if youre into airplanes, it is worth it.

I was stationed here for 14 months its a nice base and the surrounding area has a lot of outdoorsy things to do if youre into that.

Glynn was, by far, the best docent of any museum I have ever been to. Knowledgeable beyond words. Excellent tour.
