I would actually give the museum 4 stars if it werent for the horrible customer service I received in their gift shop. The museum is authentic and pretty cool, just small and a little overpriced, in my opinion. The gift shop has lots of neat things but beware of the prices marked on items being incorrect. I bought a keychain that was on a display with price tags on the display. They overcharged me by $2, which was not a big deal, but when I brought it to their attention, the woman went over to the display and started peeling the price stickers off saying that was the wrong price listed on the display. The other young lady at the register told her they should refund me the difference but I guess the other lady had higher rank and made the decision not to, and just simply said sorry and turned around and walked away. Really?! You lost future business over 2 bucks, just bad business in my opinion.

My Husband and I loved it! It is kind of small but I love old stuff and it was so very interesting to look at everything. Neat gift shop with very reasonable prices! I would agree with other reviewers on the following points: (1.) Bring lots of quarters to keep your kids entertained. (2.) And yes, You cant go more than a few feet inside most of the exhibits/ rooms because they have very old fragile artifacts in there and some people dont take care of stuff or supervise their children properly. So in order to preserve history and the authenticity of the museum, certain historical artifacts need to be off limits to the vast majority of us. (3.) Its a really wonderful place and definitely worth the price!

People are nice who run it, but NOT WHAT WE EXPECTED. Instead of it being like a haunted town or anything remotely close to our expectations it WAS NOT!! We paid 28.00 bucks for 5 of us with a coupon and all it was are some old buildings and horse wagons from the 1800s and to top it off they actually had a good amount of gift shop items so they get you spending more money on stuff you dont really need. Now not there fault, they run a nice clean operation but I feel it was misleading online and if your into old towns go there, if you want anything ghost do not waste your money or you could come out like us 50.00 lighter and nothing to show for it but a pocket knife and some souvenirs .

The person below who said theres nothing at all interactive obviously didnt bother looking around at all. This place is AWESOME! Theres a beautiful old player piano as soon as you walk into the museum, with two more to find in the recreated buildings, along with about a dozen beautiful old stereoscopes and old style phones with party line recordings. The rooms are lovingly recreated with authentic artifacts and antiques and signs explaining what everything is. Gold panning wasnt anything to get hyped up for, but if you go into it expecting the mother lode youre doing it wrong. The gift shop has a great selection as well. Would absolutely go back!

This is such an interesting museum! My kids (ages 3 & 5) were a little bored, but my husband and I loved it. Had it not been for restless children, we couldve stayed much longer than we did in order to really discover all the artifacts. The owners have have done an incredible job setting up this old town that feels like you are stepping back in time. We enjoyed the interactive parts and the commentary. Its nice that its mostly all indoors since it was pouring rain. Unfortunately, because of the rain, the kids mining section was closed, but still a great time! Dont miss this place!

The Ghost Town Museum is a great place to visit. The owners ( and their parents before them) have collected many unusual artifacts and pieces of old west history and they are artfully displayed in a frontier town setting (indoors) so we can get a look of how life was experienced in the boom days of Colorado. Well worth a visit-there are some good attractions for kids as well like the gold panning which they all seem to really enjoy. A very nice gift shop has gifts in all price ranges and tastes and you will enjoy browsing there. A must see if you like western history.

You walk inside through the gift shop and you are back in the era of cowboys, cars and gold panning. Feels like a small town. You walk through and peek in shops such as the barber shop, a jail, a firestation, a convenience store and a room where the ladies serve the gentlemen. Classic cars, short movie on how the west became the west. Behind the museum, you can pan for silver or gold. We found a nice handful! Theres also an old home decorated with memorabilia. I personally loved it.

This was very nice laid out and interesting for the adults to get a look back in the days. Kids(8) were bored most of the time. There was a shooting gallery that they loved and a few interactive things to do but make sure you have a lot of quarters because you have to pay and the quarter changer didnt work. They also had a gold panning that was fun but the pieces of gold was so small it really was a hunt but we were lucky to find some. It was a fun stop.

I wish I could give this 0 stars... 13 dollars to look through windows. Nothing interactive at all so boring and after 5 min my son was ready to go.. everything in there cost money just to see it work.. this should be a free thing to the public. Not worth the money at all. It took everything in me not to ask for a refund... all these people saying its just a wonderful fun place must have a blast just staring at walls.

Took my kids here over spring break for something fun to do. It was a lot of fun and worth the price. I also found a $1.00 off coupon that I believe was applied to each admission! The staff was friendly and it wasnt too crowded. I like the hands on exhibits and that we were allowed on climb on one very old street car! Will definitely be going back even if just for the awesome gift shop!

I took my grandson and we were both very disappointed. He wanted to pan for gold and I was expecting a little guidance and received only a "The directions are posted on the wall." I will not go back and take the other grandson when he is older. There are a lot of "Old West" exhibits, but the place needs a good cleaning. It was very dusty and hokey.

Fun but smaller than it looks. That back fence that looks like a big ghost town is just for show. There isnt anything back there. Otherwise it is a cool collection of historical items from the Wild West. Good way to kill an hour or so if you are in the area and like that period in history. -1 star for getting my hopes up with that danged fence!

Really didnt know what to think from the name. The place is jammed full of great examples from long ago. Inside you will find an old main street and you can peer inside and see what it was like long ago. The video at the end of the display I wish was at the beginning, the history of that building and the surrounding buildings is fascinating.
