This past weekend, on 6/24/16 the bouncers at Rawkus brutally assaulted my girlfriend and I while they had us handcuffed. We did nothing wrong, and broke no laws. I had a vape pen in my possession, never used it one time inside their business. My girlfriend and I have to keep THC on us as a rescue for our history of seizures. A large black bouncer told me to see it, and then said it was a weed vape pen and not allowed in Rawkus. He said if I walked with him to the door, he would give it back. I get to the door, and he said he changed his mind and he was keeping it. He left it on the counter and started to walk away. I picked it up and proceeded to calmly leave as originally instructed. I never threatened anyone or acted violently. They decided to tackle me when I was four steps out the door walking towards my car and continued to beat and choke me for 15 minutes, while I was handcuffed, before the police finally arrived. My girlfriend was trying to film the incident and they did not appreciate her filming their crimes so she was tackled and assaulted as well. I pulled my phone from my back pocket while handcuffed, and was about to film them assaulting my girlfriend. As soon as the bouncers saw me trying to do this, they took my phone from my hands. Apparently, filming their business while standing 15 feet from their property is reason enough for a 300 pound bouncer to tackle a small female to the concrete and then slam her head into the ground. Then handcuff her and proceed to continue to assault her because this business has no security cameras, so no one will ever see the evidence of their crimes. All while the owner, Chris Copeland, supervised the beating.

I was minding my business when a few people started getting into a fight just a few feet away from me and as I was moving away, security walks in, breaks up the fight and throws me out too. I tell security that I had nothing to do with the fight but, they didnt believe me and told me that if I dont leave then they would call the cops on me for causing trouble. so, I got kicked out for being near a fight at a night club. And that was after i payed $20 to get in and i didnt get a refund. Bottom line, this night club is run by rock stupid assholes who try and set you up for something that you didnt do, just to make you mad and make security have an excuse to call the police on you. I HOPE THIS PLACE CLOSES DOWN. But, the only way that will happen is if less stupid teens stop going to this botched club and walk the extra .1 mile to go to either Copperhead Road Bar & Nightclub or Club Q (a gay bar and nightclub) Which are both one thousand times better than anything Rawkus could ever offer.Heed my warning. And yeah, Im sure that this comment will be responded to by management just so they can either leave a backhanded or hollow apology/complement. either way that should be proof of how terrible the people running this club truly are.

I definitely enjoyed myself the times I have been to Rawkus. They have plenty of parking space, which makes it extremely convenient. Very easy to find, and hard to miss. I actually appreciate how thorough the security is upon entrance. It simply mitigates anything that can endanger people in crowd, making people feel safer thus more comfortable. I enjoy their sound system and lasers that they have. They have a bar with reasonably priced drinks. Smoking area if needed. Two pool tables located in back, so you can carry out conversations without noise distractions. Tables with seats if you want to sit down. A prominent reason to why I like this venue is that they book local Colorado DJs as openers for EDM shows. That kind of support for the Colorado community speaks loudly as business. I definitely had fun.

Im not very fond of the atmosphere of Rawkus. They definitely are targeting a very specific, one-sided 16yo-24yo crowd here and thats pretty much it. The bartenders here arent great. Twice Ive gone on separate nights, ordered a beer, and been brought the wrong beverage back. Rawkus also seems to always book the same local DJs for pretty much every electronic/dance music event. Not much variety as far as local talent, and Ive never seen the large dance floor get very packed, even for some of the larger headliners Ive seen perform. Perhaps if the club management/promoters would switch up their opening DJs/artists with some new names for a change, and hired better bartenders, this place could do better.

this place is the worst venue ive ever experienced over the past 6 years. Never have i ever encounter such terrible, rude staff, specifically the bouncers. These guys are absolutely assholes for no reason, making assumptions of people being "suspicious" just because they are walking around the building attempting to find the entrance. I would never recommend anyone coming here to spend your money, you will leave feeling like youve wasted a night of your life. Needs all new employees who are decent, a change or policys and perhaps new management.

Im guessing the Rawkus employees get a bonus for rating this place highly, because Rawkus is terrible. In my opinion, they look at their customers as dollar signs and nothing else. Their bouncers have a reputation for being physically violent and have been accused of unlawful detention all over social media. I will never again contribute my hard earned money to a business I feel has low integrity and little to no regard for Liberty and Justice, as their owner is aware of, and apparently sanctions, his bouncers operating in such a manner.

I had the worse club experience of my life at Rawkus. I was minding my own business and a girl got mad at a guy next to me. She started to punch him. I was trying to get out of the way and she socked me in the eye. No security helped me in fact when I went to get help they threw me and my husband out after all he did was try to help me. This was an outrage and I am contacting my lawyer today. What a nightmare of a club. The sound was weak and atmosphere was as hip as a teenage keg party. LAME!!!!!

This place is lame! Too many security guards, too few bartenders. I will never be back. The Black Sheep is way better. And yeah , this has nothing to do with partying responsibly, but everything to do with a crappy venue. Waiting an hour to get in the door because security has to grop everyone? Waiting 45 minutes to an hour for a drink because of a tiny bar for a big venue? Go to the Black Sheep people. Way better bands, way better service.

I have been to this place on two separate occasions and both times I have been disappointed. First of all the scene is super lame! Second the staff/ bouncers suck at their jobs big time. They seem like nothing more than a bunch of thugs that spend their weekends harassing people. They throw out the wrong people half of the time. They are WAAAAAY too aggressive. This place blows and should be promptly shut down!!

Ive been attending Rawkus for about 2 years now, its definitely a blast! The shows are top notch, sound quality A1 and the visuals are killer! Its is a non-violent environment, everyone is friendly, its definitely a place to be to stay out of trouble as a teen, because everyone becomes friends among the acts. I personally have made a family of people who go to Rawkus. Its really an amazing place.
