Big Country

Amazing place and turn around from the old Lariat. Owners are great, freindly staff, great dinning atmosphere with good background music. Food is great, live music is great and not to loud. The building has been beautifully restored with a very warm feel that just invites you in, and makes you want to keep coming back!!! Open mic night on Wednesdays to check out the great local talent. Of course on Wednesday nights and some weekends you will catch the great musical stylings of my Uncle Bill or also know as (Slick Willie)!!! Dont miss out on this wonderful restaurant!!! Service is super friendly, and it helps to order everything at the same time. This place is a hip Denver bar tucked away in a small town. Portions are perfect for a single person, you wont go home bloated or hassled with a doggy bag. Best music in the area by far, there isnt a empty seat in the place most of the time with standing room limited. Dont mind the silly front deck, parking is across the street down a ways. Also awesome outside area that most forget about, not just the guests.

Great looking new bar and good food, but the service is very lacking. We are locals and have been in six times since they opened.. kept going back thinking that since it was a new owner they just needed time to figure things out, but it hasnt gotten any better. Long waits for server to even come.over, 10+ minutes for drinks, long wait to get check, 15+ minutes to get card back after the check came. They are going to lose local business if things dont change.

Great place for a late lunch, Prices are a tad on the high side, but the food is very worthwhile! We went during the day, so we cant comment on the entertainment, but the stage setup looks really cool! There are 2 outdoor patios, front and back, and they are both REALLY nice!! We were able to bring our dog to the patio, which was a must for us. When we come back through Buena Vista again, well keep this place in mind!!

This is a good place to hang out as long as the old lady that owns it isnt there. For some reason she talks like she is knows everything and seems to talk behind peoples back! As long as you dont mind the rumors that may follow your visit, go ahead and give it a whirl. She is also well known for adding to your tab and/or claiming that you never paid it. So pay up front and get a receipt!

We had a bad server who didnt care enough to look at us when she was talking to us. She didnt tell us about happy hour, though we heard the bartender telling the locals that it was still happy hour. We got charged regular price for our drinks. This place looks cool, but the service ruined it for us. Hope that others have a better experience.

Service was horrible! Our waitress didnt give us our check until about 30 minutes after we asked for it. She was rolling napkins and getting checks for other table that were here after us. We waiting around for drinks, then food and still didnt have silverware then too. It took us about 30 minutes to get our silverware after we got our meals.

We were coming here for a meet and greet for a wedding rehearsal and we got wrist bands on at the front door. They sent us around back to "our party" where we were told by a person left behind that they kicked our party out because they moved a band up in time. So we had to leave. The back patio was not even crowded. Ridiculous.

Excellent food, the cheese curds are perfectly done, they are made from goat cheese from the local goat farm down the street. We had the green chili and brisket, both were excellent. Service was excellent, the live music at open mike night (Wed @7) was good. Stopping here is worth your time!

The food and beer was delicious but slightly over priced. When you charge those priced you dont charge fifty cents for for a teeny tiny thimble cup of ranch to dip your fries. Server was docked the fifty cents on her tip as it was completely at her discretion to charge us for it.

The fries were homeade, skin on, not soggy, gave me malt vinegar for them...Id go back for just the fries!!!! Burger was excellent too. Turned me on to Deerhammer Gin distillers in Buena Vista... So unique and awesome! Building built in 1865, real, legit, old west appeal!!!

Boy, the Lariat sure has changed since the old days in BV. We thought we walked into a live music bar in LoDo Denver. They had a great band on a Saturday night. And the draft beer selection was very good. We will be back to hear more music!

Super yummy salad with chicken last night and chicken bruchetta tonight...so.good! My husband had a burger and liked it as well. Yes we ate at the same place two nights because it is good and wait staff is so friendly and attentive!

Enjoyed our food. The chefs pick for the flatbread appetizer was top notch. They didnt have any options for kids, but we made due with the adult menu. We were too early for the live entertainment but it looked like a happening place.

A whole new experience, great new menu and open late for food. Great place to watch football in the fall with a ton of flat screens. It has also become an extremely good music venue, with a pro light and sound setup, and good bands.

Good food, great atmosphere and the music is pretty good. Recommend the goat cheese curds. Plus they always have a good selection of beers on tap. From micro to merica.
