The course itself is pretty good, but the officials are terrible. I just played 18 here, on a Sunday, in 4h 30m. The suggested play is 4:20. In that time we were told to speed up our play at least 5 times. At one point we were told told play our next two holes in 20 minutes, even though the group in front of us was still on the green and the group behind us (our friends) never pushed us once. By far the worst golf experience I have had in recent years. Completely obvious they are trying to pack as many in as possible. Probably wont play here again.

This is a very nice municipal golf course with a terrific grill and restaurant -- Beyond The Box. Check out the weekly daily specials -- all are homemade. My husband and I had todays special -- homemade meatloaf, peas and corn, macaroni and cheese, a roll, drink, and dessert, all for only $6.50. You cant beat that! More people should know about this place and try it out. (The staff is as nice as can be too!!)

Wickedly fast greens highlight an excellent municipal golf course conveniently located near I-40. Pro shop is presently under renovations so they are working out of a construction trailer, but it is as seamless as can be expected. Narrow fairways and small exceptionally fast greens make this a challenging course! Number 3 is quite possibly the toughest green in North Carolina.

The course itself is great. The fairways are in pretty good shape. Its not immaculate but its also only about $30 to play. The staff was friendly and welcoming. My only complaint is that there wasnt a ranger there to speed play or push people through. I ended up behind two foursomes and it took about two and a half hours to get through the last six or seven holes.

Played 18 Thursday October 20, 2016. Course was in beautiful condition. Its a shame they dont care about pace of play. 4hrs 40mins as a single. Usually done in 3. 1 group of 4 women let me play thru. Nobody else would including the 2 guys in front of me hitting 2 balls each. Said something at the turn but never saw a ranger. Again a beautiful course.

There is a fairly decent small playground at this park. For me the biggest plus is that the walking trail connects to the PEC trail, and is a great paved walking route. The downside is having to (carefully) cross East Fork Rd. .

Love the course, but why in the world would you pick the middle of the summer to close for renovations? Whose bright idea was this?
