I recently did a track day at Thunderhill on the full 5 mile course, and the new section is an awesome addition. The esses and tight corners introduce some welcome variation to the existing elevation changes and off camber turns. It makes it pretty satisfying and challenging to run a nice, clean lap. For beginners, I feel like the extended length can be a little intimidating. It takes time and experience to digest all the little nuances of a track this long, so I really recommend going with organizations that provide coaching if its your first track day. Hooked on Driving and BMWCCA have great coaches, and both are very organized so you get a good amount of track time. Theyre pricier than other organizations, but the coaching is really valuable. I definitely wouldve learned the track much more slowly without their help.

One of the most popular race tracks in California. probably the one that books the most dates. The noise restriction is 103db so you dont have to worry about getting black flagged like with Laguna Seca. The longest track in California as well when they combine the original East side with the newer west side. The track is somewhat technical and has a lot of nice features like elevation changes, fast curves, slow and tight ones, long straights. Its also a lot cheaper to go to a track day here than Laguna Seca or Sears Point.

I rode my motorcycle on this track at a Pacific Track Time track day it was Amazing Amazing Amazing!!! The PTT instructors were very helpful in taking me (a street rider for years) and showing me how to ride at the racetrack, giving me instructions then following me around the track and giving me further training. By the end of the day I could barely walk from riding so hard, and my cheeks hurt from smiling so much in my helmet. It was the best day of riding Ive ever ever had!!!

At some point we all need to drive Laguna and Sears for coffee table conversation, but in Northern California there is only one track that ranks number one. Thunderhill. Now with the East and West courses...wow. First timers...racers...teen drivers...this place has it all. Every new teen driver should do the driving clinic at Thunderhill. Every sports car owner should do at least one track day with Hooked on Driving at Thunderhill.

A fun, twisty-turny track with wide open spaces around in case you leave the track "involuntarily". The main building has a nice, cool room to chill out in, and theres some covered, shady spaces for your car - which youll want in the summer: temps in the high 90s°F) are normal. Threes an OK on-site grill, and insanely-expensive gas - but much cheaper stuff is available in Willows.

Rating from pit crew/spectator perspective: definitely better amenities in terms of restrooms, showers, grill, water availability and general cleanliness compared to other tracks. The main building has a strong air conditioner with good WiFi so while your partner is out riding you and family can relax and watch from here.

If only the racing gods had decided to put this ribbon of asphalt in a cooler location. I guess we have to be upset with modern zoning and noise ordinances. Those people suck. Thankfully there isnt much around so if you run out of talent youre going into the dirt instead of someones yard.

Everytime i go there the staff are very welcoming. Most of the time you can get into the track for free and enjoy some really cool events. The drift track is awesome and the speedway is amazing. Really good place to get food and something to drink and enjoy some fast cars.

Awesome place, the track is challenging and fun. Easy to find and ample pit and parking areas. Safe track with low risk run off area. Good food at the cafe. I only did the east track but I heard the west track is cool too and also heard the two can be combined.

The people that work here are so helpful and friendly! I had a wonderful time driving my crosstrek on the thunderhill west course when my buddy rented it out! The track is so much fun with some amazing turns and elevation change! It has a lot of flow!

Its a great track and the excessive heat in summer isnt their fault. Great variety of turns and long straights for those high horsepower cars. BTW, it has the best track food in Norcal. I am love East but Thunderhill West is only OK in my book.

Fun course in either layout. Local parts stores carry random goodies for those quick fixes. Onsite store is small but has the essentials. Its get hot here, oftentimes 100°+. Bugs can be a doozey.

Great track and all services needed available. Weather is almost always perfect. Easy access to freeway and hotels. Track is setup for 3, 2 and 5 mile config. A fantastic layout.
