Good at the beginning. Then we were checked in a room with king bed and pull out sofa. I reserved it with 2 queens. Then my room has an a/c on the wall that kept on turning on and off for cold air that was noisy and waking us up all hours of the night. Plates for breakfast was in a small bowl way in cool. Every one around was talking about how small they were and asking why we did not have bigger flat plates like everywhere else in the Hyatts. My room wad not vacuumed and was the first time EVER we were charged to park in the hotel parking lot? Hyatt is doing so bad they have to charge to park for our 2 day stay? Must he a California NOT SO HOSPITABLE way to say welcome. Sorry to be negative but I have never stayed in a Hyatt that was not friendly and attentive to detail. I mentioned to the plate washer guy that you have been out of fruit, yogurt and cottage cheese for a while in English. He then related it to a lady cleaning a table she responded to him in Spanish thinking I did not understand, "That is not my job" then I asked her that is not your job? In Spanish and said yes sir no worries I will go a out things out for you. In short I will never stay in a Hyatt in California again. Isabel a lady in then serving area was very very nice and always tried to be of service to everyone we saw her do a very great job. I think SHE should be running this Hyatt in El Segundo if it was menthe general manager for the Hyatt. We have 22 employers that use Hyatt hotels for our stays and we will re visit where we stay from now on due to my visit in this Hyatt. Small plates to serve our food us not a good idea. I made 5 trips to my table to take my breakfast and saw 2 families at least take a bunch of small plates with food to their rooms. If you keep it like other Hyatts with the bigger plates and uniform all will be much better. Ask customers like this survey and do dont just ask and do nothing about it. Want to loose business keep doing what you are doing now and you will meet your goal. Hope someone follows up with me about my input. Thanks Ben Iniguez

Good, could be better We had a good experience last Sunday with minor hiccups. Harry Potter ride was great. The Despicable Me Minion Mayhem ride was good. Make sure you get an upper level seat, a bit away from the screen for the Minion ride. Overall, the price has gone up and some experiences have gone down. A few things to watch out for: New bag security checks are done by unfriendly security. They have no clue to what they are looking for when they look inside your bags. Keep your eyes on your valuables. Long lines at the security checks is the first unpleasant experience you’ll have. The second is the overcrowded entrance gate for ticketing. Everyone crowded to three gates and formed long lines, while there were empty ticketing gates on the side. No one directed the crowd to those. What a mess. Food experience has gone down. What we really missed was the Doc Brown’s Fancy Chicken which is GONE! They served good fried chicken. The new Cletus’ Chicken Shack served horrible chicken thumbs and average fried chicken. How can you get fried chicken wrong in America? Had plenty of vacant tables on the second floor. They do not honor the Bart soda bottle anymore and make you pay full price. Watch out for the long and slow lines for the Harry Potter ride. This waiting section is only covered above with no fans of mist blowers and you bake in the heat with no water since they make you lockup your stuff in the lockers before you get there. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter has unusually large number of shops/stalls selling wands. Boxes and boxes of wands. Stacked all the way to the ceiling. Wonder how many trees were cut down to produce such a massive collection of wands. With so many wands, we could not find a magnet to take home as a souvenir! The package pickup at the main store got unfriendly people who called some surprised customers “hey buddy”. Definitely a lower customer service experience.

A great park to visit, there was only 1 ride under construction at the time and it did not impact the experience at all. The Harry Potter area was a little bit underwhelming, only 2 rides, the shops were basically cart stalls in the main walking area, there were like 2 actual shops where you could walk inside of. The best ride was actually the Universal Studios tour, we originally were worried cuz of the length of the queue line and the signs that said the ride was over an hour long, but the queue line moved extremely fast and the ride was great, it would of been nice to be able to see inside some of the studios but I understand that could be disrupting the filming, and the occasional mid-stops where the tour trams turned into an actual ride experience were awesome, the whole family thought that was the best part of the whole park. The WaterWorld show was also awesome, the announcers were very interacting with the audience, the stunts were extremely great and very entertaining. The little kids in the family had a great time in the Despicable Me park areas where they could play and wear themselves out. The Transformers ride was a great experience also and better than expected. Some small areas were a little dated and didnt offer much entertainment for the family, but I do understand that some of those movie/tv show properties are how Universal got their start and their reputation. Outside the park the CityWalk area is a great shopping center, a lot better than most malls around, not overcrowded, ad a great selection of products for the whole family. Overall a great family experience and my family was able to do almost all of it in a single day.

This place isnt "thrilling" by any means, but Ive also been going here since I was a kid so it does hold a place in my heart. Its a great place to bring out-of-towners (especially if they plan to go to Disneyland and you cant afford it--take them around here to be a good host; then they can figure out Disneyland with their own wallets). That said, they really upped their parking game. Well, it costs more (damn), but...secondly, they adopted the ordered parking style that Disneyland employs. I have no clue how long theyve been doing this because I typically use a rideshare service or come at night, but its so much better than weaving around for a spot like youre at the mall. Things to see at Universal Studios Hollywood: The classic Studio Tram tour, for one. If you get a really good guide like Jeremy (I think that was the last person I had), it can be really fun even if youve been on it a hundred times. They also update it, and its just cool to see where stuff is filmed. Harry Potter Land--its not as big as Orlandos but magical nonetheless. Id say the better places to eat at the park are Three Broomsticks and Cletus Chicken Shack (but I like chicken so Im partial). Some people like Moes. Its nice because you can also have a beer at this park, which makes it a great hangout in the summer if you get a pass or have to visit with visitors. I really like the Mummy Ride as well, but it can wreck your stomach so try not to jump on this ride after you eat.
