We are so fortunate to have this Very High Quality theater here in the “Burbs”,, where we can also find good restaurants and shopping close by too,, I have been a follower of Ky and his original theater on Summerfield Road, where he installed a “Looping System” for Hearing Impaired individuals with hearing loss... Ky had intended to install another "Looping System" in the theater in Sebastopol during the remodeling of the theater, which is happening bow,, I sure hope it does happen ,as it is a GREAT benefit to those of us who need to hear more easily. Let them know at the theater, when you attend, that you want that too, if you find the same need.. OTHERWISE it is the BEST movie theater in this area,.!!

Want to like it more as its a small, independent movie theatre that shows cool movies. However, right now theres so much (pretty useless from what I can tell) renovations being done to the interior that should be going towards its projection and sound; it feels like many times that Ive gone there theres been some digital pixelation or sound issues or a scratch on the screen--dont go there for a 3D movie, youll be seeing double vision. Just small things that take you out of the experience. But the staff is friendly, the candy selection is very cool, and the hall of movie posters is lovely. I hope they start putting their money towards making their movies sound and feel as cool as their general atmosphere.

Before the theater was bought by the rialto we had a good theater that played good movies. The old theater also had a deal with our local video store which has since gone out of business. Now the Rialto is here and they have some good movies but a lot of weird ones that no one wants to see. If i did want to see one of those i would rent it, not pay 10 or 15 bucks to see it in a theater, really not worth. the video and audio quality is fine and they have enough theaters to have some AAA movies alongside the kinda indie/unknown films. I just wish they would look at reviews and and ratings of movies to see which ones to keep longer.

I love this theater: the staff, the popcorn, the owners and the perfect balance of pop films and my favorite odd docs and indies. Its my home away from home and I am delighted to have a hometown movie house, where we can have intelligent and meaningful conversations about films and get solid recommendations about new releases from staff. I buy their gift cards for friends and family and couldnt be happier---and luckier--to have the Rialto in our hood. My one suggestion? Stay on top of the cheddar shaker for the popcorn! No running out! Haha! Thank you for bringing us the BEST! With love and gratitude, linda sw (and kim).

I am all about the Movies, Food & Beverage and of course Hospitality. The Rialto has it all. This is one of the best Movie houses in the Bay Area, and is saying something from me. They have such a clean and well run place I love coming here just because. Their newish Food, Wine & Beer program is quite nice, a good selection and quality for such a small kitchen! The customer service is always great and the atmosphere as welcoming and fun with places to sit and chat with "strangers" about the shows. They have Operas and Play shown here as swell as excellent fundraisers and special events. This is just a good place.

I was less than pleased that wine glasses are allowed in the Theater. I was attending Beauty and the Beast Friday March 17th @6p. and saw people with wine bottles and "glass" wine glasses. I heard at least on three different occasions the glasses breaking. If you are allowing alcohol in the theater which in itself I find unacceptable why not use plastic ware. who is libel if someone gets cut??? This was a "G" rated movie with kids present. I dont believe the presence of alcohol is appropriate.

I love this theater. It has a great variety of movies, foreign flicks and independent movies. Add to that the Special Events: National Theater live, Met Opera and Exhibitions of famous artists in museums with a guide and you cant beat what is shown here. Theaters are comfy altho a few are small. And that is not all. Now there is great food, wine and beer which can be taken into the theater. This is the place to go for good entertainment and great food.

Best theatre I have been to. It is my go to theatre for movies now. Can be a bit pricey, but the food is not nasty theatre food and drinks. The food is delicious and a variety of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks to enjoy while watching a movie. The theatres are very clean. The size feels a little small initially, but then you realize its actually a perfect size considering the other amenities they offer. I dont go to any other theatre anymore.

I am in love with the ambiance, the food selection and the charm of the Sebastopol theatre. I have had the absolute best chicken tarragon salad that Ive ever had anywhere else at the Sebastopol theater. There are many different sized screens, creating a range of atmospheres ranging from intimate to box office bang. This theater has done an amazing job capturing the overall feel of community and uniqueness that speaks of Sebastopol.

I grew up in sebastopol and the theater was one of the places i went all the time. Now that it is the Rialto, i rarely ever go. They stopped doing the outside ticket selling, they took out all the awesome video games, and its just so....NOT sebastopol. Plus, on the rare occasion that i in fact dont want to go to Santa Rosa or Rohnart Park, then they arent showing the movie i want to go see. The service is fine, nice people at least.

An eclectic cross-section of films are offered. Everything from Blockbusters to obscure documentaries to Broadway simulcast. The remodeled lobby is inviting and the new food offering are tasty and reasonably priced. Good selection of beer and cider. Friendly staff. Small theaters, but screens seem full sized once the film starts. Biggest drawback is that the crowd is often full of chatty Baby Boomers who ruin the previews.

The theaters are always clean, the staff is pleasant, and it just an enjoyable venue. These guys know what they are doing and it shows. They were the same owners who trail blazed independent films in Sonoma County at their previous location in Santa Rosa when no one else saw the value in showing them. Their choice of independent films has always been top notch. Now they are back and the community is glad they are.

Rialto does a great mix of mainstream features and excellent, alternative, independent productions, as they are available. I have seen some wonderful movies, documentaries, and theatrical productions there, (which will never play in the local big box venues.) The Sebastopol Rialto theater, along with the Summerfield, in Santa Rosa, are my favorite conscious cinema venues in Sonoma County.

I have lived in Sebastopol all my life and have always loved going to the Sebastopol theater. Buying the tickets outside always have it that old-school touch. The video games were always a bit and it just had a wonderful atmosphere. Now that its the rialto it sucks. I rarely ever go there anymore. Usually to see a movie I want to see its not even playing there. LAME.
