Been up here maybe 7-8 times and i try a different trail everytime, the best one is probably the one that starts in Hacienda Heights. The view from either water tower is great ! People are also friendly up there, lots of bikers too so do be careful and observant cause they go pretty fast sometimes. You can spend hours up here exploring all the trails and you can snap a pretty good pic of downtown LA from the western water tower. The hike has some steep areas but its not too bad if you slow your pace. Try jogging the whole way up if you want a challenge ! I recommend this trail for any hikers, joggers or bikers :) Dont forget to bring some bottles of water !!

Es fascinante, es increíble estar lejos de la ciudad y admirar la naturaleza. El camino esta muy curvado pero vale la pena. Es un lugar lindo para despejar la mente ademas hay varios caminos con diferentes vistas panoramicas. :)

Parking sucks, one entrance is closed for "safety" and the crowds are beyond crowded. Meter maids are in it to give tickets. Residents around there should have known that there was a trail there and that it attracts healthy people. Now we the travelers and adventurous are stuck with windshield tickets and fights over parking and not to mention the occasional vandalism

This drive is amazing. At any time of day there is always an awesome view. The drive is curvy and really fun to do in a lowered car with a group of friends. If you hook a left on Skyline Dr. and continue making lefts until you hit a dead end you reach a nice little hike / trail which gives you an almost 360 degree view of the surrounding areas.

I have been coming here since 2004 first for cross country training and now post college I still enjoy hiking up there from time to time with family . I highly recommend going with friends or family its much more enjoyable . Great views of the city and best times in my opinion to go are Saturdays/Sundays from 7-9 AM .

I like the Turnbull trail and connecting back to the other side ending at the painter entrance. From start to end its about 3 miles roughly with. Uphill from the start til about a little past the 1st mile. The rest of the way is flat and downhill. Im hoping to make it to the water tower one of this times

This is a great hiking destinations for those looking for a good workout. There are several hills and it is definitely not a beginner hike, more intermediate or advanced. It gets very hot after 8 am with sunrise. Bring plenty of water to stay hydrated as there is virtually no shade on the entire trail.

I have been hitting this trail for quite some time and I always have a good time on it! As far as difficulty, I would rate it a 2 out of 5 (easy/moderate). There are different trails for different types of abilities. I would definitely recommend this trail for somebody new to trail running/hiking.

This road is a little bit of country in the middle of the big city. Take a drive up this windy road for a drive through some hills. There are places you can park and take a hike on the Whittier side too. You can see Catalina and Downtown LA on a good day.

If you want to work out just by hiking this is the place the hills are steep and there are plenty of them! There are endless trails, so its easy to get lost in the canyon. I love this place even though it can be crowded and no parking during the weekend.

This is a great hike, as can be seen by now many people are on it everyday. Nowadays I hear more than a thousand come each day, and I can only imagine how many on the weekends. If closes at dusk, so stay early, and watch out for the coyotes.

I go with my family very often in the summer. It took us a few tries till we got to the water tower but now we can jog the whole way and back twice. It is a great place to go if you are really up for a challenge to lose weight or get in shape.

Great place to go hiking. Especially, during spring the flowers bloom and the hiking trail becomes very beautiful to walk in. There are multiple of trail openings, so far I know of Greenleaf and going all they way down Beverly.

A GPS took me through this canyon while driving to Whittier as a shortcut. I honestly thought I was going to die lol. Not a fun experience of you dont know the area and are driving on a narrow one lane road.

There are all different kinds of hikes depending on what kind of hike you are in the mood for. Plus there are several places you can get a beautiful view of Downton Los Angeles and the surrounding cities.

Its a great place to get a workout climbing up those hills. The parking isnt great here, but the view when your climbing, the overall experience, and the other hikers make it worth it.

First time hiking on that Side of the hill! Definitely a work out. A bit more secluded then the Hailmen trails. Seen a few of residents backyards, though they are far few in between.

A cycling buddy of mine introduced me to Turnbull, great little climb relatively accessible from the San Gabriel River Trail. Lots of options for climbing once you get here too!

Alot of hiking trails here. About a mac elevation of 1000ft. Nothing serious. Good for trail running and mountain biking. Watch out for the horses and dogs
