Famous beach in Santa Monica. Surfing and, its fished and its most suitable for boat play. There is also a small amusement park for children. I thought the pier which projects into a coast was made of wood, but what are metal and concrete actually? There were many gift shops and Wagen van type 2 of the basic was bought by surfing.

The boardwalk in Santa Monica! The famous Santa Monica Pier has changed from a yacht harbor and fishing pier to an amusement park and boardwalk with the rides, shops, restaurants and a game room. I used to take passengers here on tours when it was possible to park a bus nearby or drive a van on the pier, now the tour bus parking is distant and were only able to pass by for a quick look! The pier lacks sports facilities but does include pay parking, restrooms and the beach (a playground in itself). Summertime weekends often have capacity crowds, so much so that it can be overwhelming and it may feel like the pilings and boards will give way under the enormous weight. Fortunately, the past history with storm and boat collision damage has brought about structural improvements able to withstand the traffic and pedestrians for the next several years, before the next renovation!

This is my go-to stress relieving drug, the best drug you can ever take. Anytime Im stressed and need some good R & R, heres where I go. Being at waters edge has always been relaxing to me and I absolutely love the Santa Monica Pier! I come here so often it feels like a second home to me, the sound of the crashing waves greeting me each time and the salty, cool and windy air opening its arms to me. Im an avid photographer as you can tell from the photos I personally took and this hot spot provides plenty of photo opportunities. A must visit if you live in or visit California. What are ya waiting for? Get out here and relax, have a good time! They have plenty of good food, entertainment and rides including the Pacific Wheel, a roller coaster and much more. Cya here! o/

We drive 800 miles and planned to go to this park as part of our vacation in the Los Angeles area. We checked the website multiple times before leaving for our trip re: rides, height restrictions, etc. When we arrived at the park at opening time hoping to avoid the crowds. After paying the $12 parking fee - we learned that the park was closed for a private event so we could not go in. Our 5 year old was SO disappointed! I called the magement to inquire as to why the event had not been posted on the front page of the website where people could see it amd she I formed me that it had been there for over one year - which is simply NOT true. She suggested that maybe if I had called ahead they would have told me. I would not recommend this park to anyone - ever.

There is parking directly at pier, I think it was $15 for whole day, no problem getting a spot once in the lot. But merging back onto road when exiting the lot was a nightmare - NO stop sign or yield for oncoming traffic all doing about 50 miles per hour and you have about 30 feet to merge! Bring a sweater after 6pm, it is windy and chilly, even on August hottest month. The roller coast was 25 minutes wait if you want to ride in front seat, which was THE BEST. Ferris Wheel was lots of stops and starts, but the view was beautiful 360 degrees! Rides, souvenirs, junk food were typical of amusement fairgrounds, but there were many wonderful free sidewalk acts such as musicians and dancers who entertain for tips.

What a joke this place ripped me off. I purchased tickets for two on line. When I took my four kids all the way to Santa Monica pier from Orange County I was told I waited to long to use the certificate and they would not honor it even though there is no expiration date on certificate. I asked for Manager and Javier came over and I explained situation. He told me it was my problem because his system wont take the certificate and I should go back to Groupon. Mind you I have four kids and was going to be buying 3 additional entries for me and my family. I was so frustrated and embarrassed I loaded my kids up and drove back home and hour and a half. What a terribly run business.

Great experience and lots to do. Pier is fun to walk around and explore, and beach isnt that bad. DONT buy the umbrellas or surfboards that the Mexican people that will try to sell you them for $20 (which seem like they got from the dollar store), but the mangos they sell for $3 are ok to buy. Also near the steps of the pier you may see a guy in an old Elmo suits trying to take pictures with kids. Cops here are mean and extremely rude, they wouldnt let the 89 Second comedy show perform. You may also see rock n roll Jesus towards the back of the pier (Same guy at Hollywood Blvd.), you may want to sit and listen to him for a bit. Oh yeah and the bathrooms are horrible.

Parking was 12.00 for all day, not bad. But....we were done with in an hour. Seems very over rated. Wrist bands for all rides are 30$ didnt see individual prices. It is clean. Like others said b4 me, its spendy to buy things in the pier itself. Thinking itd be cheaper to go to the "promenade" turns out to be an expensive term for, even more expensive souvenirs than on the pier. We went to the promenade, about 5 blocks away from the pier, and decided it was time for Venice Beach. Btw, Venice Beach is only 1.6 miles away. Just more our "style" . Go to santa monica pier if youve never been, but.....dont get your hopes up from the hype.

We love it here. Some of the amenities: Wristbands for rides are expensive, as are the ride tickets. Arcade seems to always be packed. Small food court available so you can eat. Bright neon lights at night. Games. Little carts with people selling their wares. People singing both on the pier with microphone/speakers, in addition to down on the beach. You have to come experience it if you come to town. Parking is not free in the pier lot. Very congested and a bit confusing trying to find your way down here if youre not familiar with the area...might want to use a ride service or park farther up and walk down if you can.

Cool park, lots of pokemons to catch around here. I went on the Ferris wheel and thought it was really scary. They went so fast and it just kept going... I think it went around about 5 times? cant remember but it felt really long. You can buy the ticket for the ride at the ticket booth nearby, and then head straight for the line. The line itself moves fairly quickly, I got on the ride after waiting for 5-10 minutes. You dont get to see much at night, its pretty much all dark around the area. so going there during the day might be a better choice. You can get very nice shots of the Ferris wheel at night when the lights are on.
