Rotary Storyland in Playland is one of the oldest park attractions in Fresno. The entrance into Playland is free but the rides cost a couple of bucks to ride($2-$3 each) or you can get an unlimited ride wrist band. The rides are not too exciting but some have a height requirement. Storyland does have an entrance fee but is well worth it for the little ones. Storyland & Playland are located inside of Roeding Park. The entrance to the park its free but it cost $5 to drive your vehicle into the park. Beware roeding Park is known for some shady characters especially around the bathrooms. When we arrived we found a man dressed as a woman with a horrible looking blonde wig hanging out in front of the bathrooms on the northwest side of the park. I would avoid that area at all cost, unless youre into that kind of thing....

Both Storyland & Playland along with the mini amusement park and the train ride was an amazing day with the family. The prices are low, $10 for just a family of four. Water fountains at every corner and some with water hoses to wet your head down on them hot summer days, or to spray your kids down before hitting the cool water pad. Tons of shade and cool spots to picnic. Staff were young adults with the highest quality standards for respect towards the customers that placed a smile on every face. So glad that I found this park. It was the perfect last minute spontaneous family outing with lifelong family memories.

First the bad - this is no Disneyland. There are few rides, and many of the attractions are a bit run down. The "magic key" often doesnt work or the message is garbled. Now the good - my kids and I love it. The lines are short, and the rides are fun. The attractions (kids stories in sculpture) give us opportunity to discuss their memories from younger days. The food is not overpriced, and the restrooms are clean. The staff is friendly. The price is affordable, and well worth the hour and a half drive for us. The zoo is very close by, so we make a day of it. It would be sad to see it close.

We went to storyland on a Friday afternoon and were quite disappointed. The train wasnt working when we got there nor was playland open. I guess playland is only opened on Saturday and Sunday. We walked around storyland. It is basically a small park in which you walk around. They opened the train 20 min into our visit ...that was the best part of it all. My son really enjoyed it. Another down side is that the place looks very dirty. It looks rundown. We were there about 30-35 min max and headed to the zoo afterwards which definitely made our trip. I wish there was more to do there.

Storyland and playland are two separate parks. Storyland like the name suggest is full of interactive pieces from fairytales. Youll see Humpty Dumpty, Alice from Alice in wonderland was walking around, etc. There is still room to improve, but we had a good time as a family. To get to playland one can walk or take a train. The train is a couple dollars a person and that includes the return trip. On the train you see dinosaurs and you go past the lake.

My kids loved this place. We were the only family there for a while (cold day) and the 3 characters roaming the park practically babysat my three children for a few hours. My kids were in heaven sword-fighting a pirate on his ship. Looking for granny with red-riding hood, and rolling down the hill with sleeping beauty. Well-maintained. Very similar to Fairyland in Oakland, but so much more well-maintained and clean.

Fun for little kids and not very busy for a summer morning. Storyland and Playland have separate fees (Storyland for admission and Playland for tickets to ride the rides), so their relatively low costs can end up being more substantial if you do both and/or the zoo on the same day. Still, great place for a change of pace. We were there for two hours and my kids wouldve been happy to stay another hour or two.

The rides are not inside of the storyland park. That is on the other side. There is no entrance fee to get into the ride area. Storyland is more a park with slides. Youll spend probably one hour there and several hours at the rides section.. wish I wouldve known that...hope this helps...

Ive been going there my whole 45 yrs of life. As a child and with my children, and I look forward to going there in the future with my grand children. It can be a full day of laughs , learning , family fun. Story land still as quaint as ever and playland fun to be had by all.

Storyland is the best place since sliced bread for children under the age of 10 to probably go in Fresno. I think its very original and promotes family relationships and a good quality family time. Plus its just vintage Fresno and everyone would really enjoy to be there.

This is a great place. Our granddaughter just loves it. Shes almost 4 and cant wait each time to go back. She loves everything -- the rides, the train, and storyland, especially the Castle. We bought the annual pass and it was so worth it. Recommend it highly.

Still needs work. Doing both in a day is pretty fun. Need to fix broken rides and get some food. Train is broken half the time. Food trucks would be a big money maker here. Hopefully they get enough business to stick around.

Absolutely love the changes they have made to the zoo. We bought the yearly pass thinking it would be great for the kids and have gone more often without them. Will be renewing in April.

This was quite a surprise when my friend brought me here. Enjoyed the time there...stepping back in time to see old carnival rides and a fun place. The pond was so beautiful at sunset.

Weve been going to the zoo, storyland and playland for over 42 years. It just gets better with time. Its a great local outing and we are so blessed to have a local park like this.

Not a lot here, but once you are done with the zoo, if your young one is still left with some energy you can let them play here and get on the rides, it will end the day nicely

Good place to spend time with your kids without getting bored and incidentally take a hike. Do not forget your sunscreen, sunglasses or umbrella

This a hit and miss spot. Sometimes the rides work sometimes they dont. Most of the time theres only a few attendants running a few rides at a time.

Had a birthday for my daughter here and paid almost 300 and it was horrible. Very unorganized, and do NOT recommend having a birthday party here.

I wish they can allow parents to go with the younger kids for free Its not like parents want to do it for fun is just part of being a parent
