Been wanting to try this "fancy" movie theater. My boyfriend and I came here to watch "Fury". I purchased the tickets online and it was a pretty easy process. There is a $2.50 processing fee which is a bummer but what can you do about it? You get to preselect your seats which is nice. No more looking like an idiot finding seats next to each other! We picked the afternoon showing so the tickets were $19.50 each. Yea, pretty freaking pricey but its called "luxury" for a reason. Upon walking into the lobby I felt like I was walking into a hotel lobby. Theres a bar area and lounge area. The ticket booth reminds me of a hotel check-in counter. We were early so we just chilled in the lobby for awhile. The bathroom upstairs are very nice and clean. We sat at the bar area and my boyfriend ordered a Heineken. It was about $8 which is again pretty expensive. Finally it was time to go into the theater. We were both amazed. I liked how all the seats were spread out. The recliners were leather and comfy. It felt like I was sitting in first class of an airplane! It was hard not to fall asleep in those chairs. We browsed through the menu and it was cool that there was a little button you can press to turn on a light so you can see in the dark. All we ordered was regular popcorn and water. From reading the reviews it seemed like the food wasnt good quality and wasnt worth the price. Anyway, service was good. The servers were friendly and brought our food/drinks promptly. The popcorn was your typical movie popcorn. Nothing spectacular. I didnt find that the servers were distracting or anything like some reviewers mentioned. I dont think I even noticed them during the whole movie. One server did come up to us during the movie asking if we ordered something when we didnt but it wasnt a big deal. Overall, it was a really nice experience. I would definitely come back but only for a big blockbuster movie during the opening week or something to avoid the lines and crowd. The $18-$22 a ticket is a bit much but youre sitting in really nice seats and getting food/drinks served to you so I can kind of get it. The 21+ theater would probably be nice for those who want to sip on their adult beverages in their seats and who also want to avoid those pesky children. Also, It can get a bit cold in the theater so bring a jacket/sweater!

My husband and I wanted to treat our Mothers to a real nice movie experience on Mother’s day. Neither of them had experienced a luxury cinema and we were excited to take them for their first time. The cleanliness, appeal, and food of the cinema were spot on. The service however was very disappointing. Our first server took our order (while the previews were playing). My mother ordered ice-cream, my mother-in-law ordered a soda, my husband ordered fruit and I ordered a quesadilla. My food came out first which was no problem but after that things went downward. They took a good 30 to 40 minutes to bring my husband’s fruit (which we had to check up on) and an hour to bring a soda (which we also had to check up on). When I placed an order for dessert I received half of the order (had to check up on this as well). The whole time we had to push a button to get service. Each time we pushed the button a new person came and told us that our order would come shortly. I believe that customer service is the number one priority for a business. Customer service can make or break a business and our experience was very disappointing. A couple of my co-workers also went to the same cinema and experienced the same lack of customer service. They did not receive one of their orders which was placed before the movie started until after the movie was over!! They complained to the manager at the cinema and all he was concerned about was identifying who the first waiter was. He was asking for a description and what not. He did not fix the situation or do anything to keep her as a customer. She emailed corporate and received a generic apology. I do not understand how there could be such a lack of customer service. I have shared my experience with co-workers, family, and friends. Hopefully they will address this issue because we really did enjoy ourselves (other than the service issue). I do not plan to go back based on my experience with the service. I would rather give my business to someone else that will appreciate it and provide proper customer service.

Watching a movie at Cinepolis is the difference between flying first class and coach! Yes, youre paying a premium. But Im willing to do that for an exceptional experience. Why 3-Stars? A series of things have happened over my visits here that have really added up to a less-than-stellar overall experience, when Im paying for something special. * I had a beer spilled on me during my last visit (05.28.16) during a showing of X-Men. Took the "Billy" approx 10 minutes to clean it up. NOTHING was taken off my bill (although I received two comped tickets for a FUTURE visit). * Servers walking in front of you during the movie. I understand that other guests are requesting service at their seats, but if youre walking in front of me EVERY 10-minutes it creates a "not awesome" movie experience. * The luxury seats are starting to show their wear. Tears on some of the seats. * $13 for "Signature Chicken Pot Stickers." A total of *FOUR* come with this order. Theyre a pretty average size, and the quality is that of the frozen pot stickers from CostCo. * Ive never been here when the theater was ready with much time before the show. Itd be nice to get inside, get food ordered, and not have to rush before previews. I guess when people have assigned seating, theres no hurry to clean the theater before the movie. PROPS: Assigned seating, and no waiting for concessions since they bring food and drinks to you at your seat. 21+ showings mean no chatty kids in the audience. SLOPS: All of the reasons mentioned above. Maybe Del Mar just isnt the Cinepolis location I should be visiting.

Where to start...The popcorn is mediocre at best... given the cost $8.50 for a medium with butter (okay when are they going to really put butter). They didnt put any "butter" on it... I guess it was already on it. It was hardly warm and full of kernels. Yuck. I also think there should be a sliding scale for seat prices. Why does the best seat in the house cost the same as a front row seat My seat... all the way in the front and on the left side did limit my ability to enjoy the movie. I did not have a good view of the right 1/4 of the screen. Aslo these seat subject you to hear everything that is going on in the corridor leading up to the theater, including the staff chatting, ringing up food/drink sales, and anyone going out or coming in. Also while in theory it should be great to get waiter service in the theater, it was annoying and very disruptive. Through out most of the movie we had waiters walking, or pretending to sneak in front of us to serve the folks in the middle seats. They would come to take an order, come to bring the order and come with the receipt. And finally lets talk about the bathroom situation. On the side where our move was there were 4 or 5 theaters and yet they had one bathroom for women & one for men. I dont mean bathrooms with stalls, I mean a bathroom, with one toilet. .. the bigger bathroom was outside the ticket taker in the top back corner out of the way... very inconvenient a stupid place to put it. Really disappointed. Will not be back.
