I dont even know where to begin with what a terrible experience this was so in stead I am going to keep is simple and list the Pros and Cons: Pros: - The seats are amazing and really the only reason to go there in the first place. Cons: - OVER PRICED - BAD SERVICE (I had to get up from my seat twice to get my own food or place an order) - Food was down right disgusting and uneatable (the Buffalo Chick Wrap was so gross that I could not even finish it and my wifes chicken quesadilla had chunks for grizzle and fat in side of it) - In theater service was not existent, rang our call button several time and no one came to take our order. - After we finally did get our order they only brought half of the order, (had to leave the theater to go get the rest and missed about 10 minutes of the movie) - Right at the climax of the movie the server came over with the bill and blocked our view until we singed the credit card receipt. - The staff and manager especially were rude, defensive about feedback and seemed to care less about the customers. - My large soda was filled to the rim with ice which all in all left me with only a half glass of soda - The popcorn was stale and way over salted - They were about 5 minutes late letting us in the the theater because they were running behind schedule. - When I asked for someone to help us order two of the staff members just said, "sorry were short staffed tonight and cant do anything about it"! All in all, I dont think this place will stay in business very long unless they really make some major changes in there management and service. I wish I had enough money to open my own theater and put this company out of business...

A friend and I went to Cinepolis in La Costa for the first time, although I have been to Carmel Valley a few times. I was hopeful the service here would be better as it is closer to me and once you enjoy first class, coach is always harder to return to. The theatre was chilly and I was told they had blankets....for $10!! Didnt want to purchase - just borrow for warmth to be comfortable. Luckily, being from a cool part of the country - I carry a blanket or two in my car. We ordered drinks longs before movie started and after contacting a waiter THREE times, we eventually got our coffee and tea. I had wanted a glass of wine, but of course I never seem to be in the theatre that offers that. Even at R rated movies, wine is only allowed in a special one or two theatres and I never know if my movie is in that particular theatre. I did not give the waiter a tip at all after finally receiving my coffee atleast 45 minutes after ordering. Good thing I didnt order any overpriced food. Actually if I were at any other food establishment the order would of been "on the house" if made to wait so long. Having to request something 3 times while watching a $20plus movie is nothing short of poor customer service. I know people who have tried to book parties there and cant seem to get schedules or movie listing until hours before showing. I guess they figure they can overcharge and get away with such behavior. Its too bad.....I dont mind paying for good service, but paying too much AND the worse customer service around is unacceptable. Love the movie experience still, but is it really so hard to offer better service??

Checked out the new theater last night with 3 family members. The theater itself if really nice. You could get spoiled, its going to be hard to watch a movie in any other movie theater now. The reason Im rating it two stars its because of a few different reasons. 1. super overpriced. Ordered a grey goose and 7 and a diet coke. The bill was $ 19.50. No it was not a triple goose! I looked at the bar tender and said.... your kidding right? He said, yeah I know bro. its high. Second reason Im giving it two stars is because the food is overpriced and came out COLD. Not warm but cold cold. For the prices your paying it should come out smoking... Here is a break down of what was ordered. 2 cokes, two orders of chicken tenders, onion rings, Angus beef sliders, teriyaki skewers.. Bill total $ 75.00 and we left hungry because the portions are very small. Reason 3 Im giving it a 2 is because the staff had no idea what was going on. They looked as lost as we did. Bottom line. Tickets for 4 people $ 80.00 cocktail " singular" $ 13.50 ea. a few appetizers and three soft drinks $ 81.50... everything plus tax and tip your looking at a $ 200 bill for a movie out. Management should look at the alcohol pricing because nobody is going to order more than 1 drink. When alcohol is priced well people order more " hence happy hour", spend more, tip more, when they drink more they get hungry. when they get hungry they order overpriced cold food they normally wouldnt buy. Bottom line... great concept but needs improvement in many areas. lower the prices of alcohol and raise the ticket prices and serve hot food.

There are so many things wrong with this theater. It is double the price of anywhere else with half of the level of quality. At a screening of a movie today the projector was completely out of focus. I asked an employee to try and fix it, and they literally said to me, "Oh, thats the way we do it now." This is the most ludicrous thing I have heard in a long time. Im a film major, and its clear that she just didnt know what she was talking about. It wasnt her fault though, the entire staff at Cinepolis is poorly trained. Their other gimmick is that you get to order food at your seats. It regularly takes in excess of 45 minutes to get your food, and it often comes cold as a result of sitting and waiting at a counter while the waiters are off doing other things. My 11 year-old brothers nacho sauce came and it was hard and cold, the popcorn was cold as well and they completely forgot my order all together. When it finally did come it was partially frozen. They offer no apology or refunds for the folly they call service. It is something people come to accept of Cinepolis. Overall the elegance of Cinepolis is merely a facade for the real services they offer: Horribly projected movies with horribly delivered service. If you want to go to a real luxury theater try out a place like the Arclight Cinemas in La Jolla, or a place similar.

Up to this point, my previous experiences at the La Costa Cinepolis have always been enjoyable. I have always had prompt service and attentive waiters. Today my opinion has drastically changed and will certainly affect my decision to return. The beginning of the movie was great - we ordered food and paid with a CC at the same time as is how its normally done. The food came promptly enough and was decent for what it was. We expected the bill to come when the food arrived so we could sign the receipt and enjoy the rest of the movie. Unfortunately, the receipt to sign did not arrive until a critical part in the movie (typically about 2/3s of the way through in most suspense movies) which kept us from seeing one of the more important parts of what we paid to enjoy. With this business having so many locations we expected that situations like this would have been ironed out to create the high-end experience they are going for, instead all we can now recall about our visit is how frustrated we were having missed an important part of the film.
