As a former racehorse, ranch horse and carriage horse trainer I was eager to fulfill my bucket list wish of cantering on the beach. My intern who is also a seasoned equestrian also wanted to canter on the beach so we signed up with BeachHorses to ride on her last weekend here in the USA. The company was very accommodating as we had four people with four levels of equine experience. My hubby had only ridden a handful of times and was a bit nervous, we had an intern that had ridden for a coupe years and then one intern who was very experienced and I who have been working with horses for over 40 years. At first I was a bit saddened by learning that we would have a guide walk with each of us and that the ride on the beach was so short, with no cantering that day as the tide and conditions were not optimal, HOWEVER, my ride was swiftly transformed into the ride of a lifetime. When we were led into the water by the guides the ride and even my whole world changed! This group of young equine guides gave us an experience we will never forget, and I mean never!!! My interns and even my husband wore grins from ear to ear the entire time we swam and played games with the horses in the Gulf of Mexico. Our guides were fun, knowledgeable, skilled, welcoming and catered to many skill levels all in one ride. This is truly the experience of a lifetime and I highly recommend this to ANYONE and EVERYONE. It does not matter if you have been riding horses your entire life or if this is your first ride EVER! This will forever be the best horseback experience of your life. My husband is a golfer and he cannot stop talking about his ride and how much he wants to do it again. Please tell them hello for us when you visit. we will be returning soon, again and again!!!

My husband and I went on a beach horse adventure with this company. It was one of many adventures we did on our honeymoon. All of which were more enjoyable than this one. This "adventure" was not fulfilling and boring. My horse had an usually pokey spine and made sitting on him very uncomfortable. We were running about ten minutes behind, and they did wait for us, which was very nice of them. The guides were very nice and talkative- nothing bad to say about them. The whole experience was just strange. The "horse surfing" did not last long for me, because my horses back was so pointy it was hard to stand on. The "horse swimming" lasted about 30 seconds. The "horse skiing" went against my instincts of not every standing behind a horse and grabbing his tail- which is exactly what you do to go "horse skiing". I am not knowledgeable on horses at all, so for all I know, standing behind a horse while grabbing his tail in water can be acceptable....it went against my gut feeling. I was way to close to a horses butt on my honeymoon than I ever could have imagined. The ride was also short. The website says at least an hour....we were about 40 mins.

Had to wait over a half an hour for horses to show up because their truck broke down the night before. My stepmom had actually called to confirm our time and was told everything was on. They could have told us then that they were having difficulty. After that point, since we were the last ride of the morning, it was rushed. We were supposed to have an hour experience and my stepmother timed us at 34 minutes, start to finish. When we said something to the guide she told us we could ride the horses up and down on the beach for a few more minutes if we wanted to and hadnt realized the time was so short. We declined only because the horses were already un-tacked and tied up. It could be an amazing experience if it was more organized. My daughter had a dream come true by surfing and being pulled by the horse in the water and thankfully doesnt share in my disappointment.

Was the best horseback riding experience of my life. Its been almost a year since the excursion and I still talk about it. The guides are friendly, patient and make you feel comfortable. The horses, Cloud and Buster are so friendly. They even snuggled you in between rides in the water by resting their heads in your shoulder. I wanted to take them home with me. One tip is to make sure you are dresses and ready because there is no where to change at the site. So be prepared to have wet clothes in the car when you are done.

Do not WASTE your money. They are deceptive about the time you are on the horse. My daughter and I have done this in many countries and had a cheaper, great experience! They claim an hour, you ride about 15 minutes and then are in the water, our entire experience lasted about 35 minutes for 125$ a person, go somewhere else and get your moneys worth.You do not get to interact with the horse on your own either , it is guided the entire time on a very small section of beach.

Its definitely worth the money. The beginning on the land is a bit slow, but once you get into the water it turns awesome. You get to stand on the horses back. Its a solid 11/10. You have a personal guide with you the whole time--one guide per rider. The horse skiing is surprisingly fun. My adolescent companion & I loved this experience.

"Horse skiing" was really fun. Got some great pictures on a horse by the water. Being in the water with the horses was really nice. My guide was really sweet. For the money I wish I got more time with the horse in the water. Overall a really great experience.

Had a great time. Guides were so patient, friendly, kind and knowledgeable. Bareback was more difficult than i remembered in my younger days, but loved every minute.

Beware we saw a girl that was kicked by one of the horses!!! Her leg was bleeding! Thing is the owners didnt seem concerned at all. Just know that horses to get.
