We played this course in early February 2014. The Good: It is a gorgeous, beautifully maintained course. The "intake" staff were very pleasant to deal with. A fabulous golf experience. The Bad: Its too expensive: the greens fee for a Friday morning was $185 per person. The Ugly: We starved practically to death. A prominent sign warns you sternly that you are not to bring your own food or beverage onto the golf grounds. We complied unfortunately for us. The food cart came along early on the Front Nine and we foolishly believed wed have other opportunities to get food. Unfortunately, that was the last we saw of the food cart. At the turn, you are not near enough to the clubhouse to get food. A concession stand at the turn was not open in the middle of the day. On the back nine, a ranger came along twice and we begged him to summon the food cart, which he claimed he was doing, punching furiously onto a touch screen on his cart. But the food cart never came. After the round -- about 3:15 pm -- we found the small cafe closed but were told there was another facility that would have a good bar menu. We did find a large, nice looking indoor-outdoor restaurant-bar, but we could get no service. The check from people who previously occupied our spot still sat on the table. No servers were in sight and it was clear we would either get no service at all or at least no service for a very long time. We finally left Desert Willow in disgust and went to a restaurant. If Desert Willow is going to charge $185 greens fee, it needs to do at least an adequate job with such basic amenities as FOOD.

Both courses are alot of fun to play. I like the courses, and they were in good shape this year. Unfortunately, management needs to offer their employees a customer service course, so their service equates to the price they charge. Our 4sum had a 1pm Thursday tee time on Firecliff. We checked into the pro shop and they gave me a cart key but didnt offer any explanation of what we would experience. 1) Driving range closed at 12:30pm. In fact, I had 3 more balls to hit and the maintenance person came over and took them right in front of me. 2) Stopped for a mid-afternoon snack at the turn, and everything was closed. 3) Message came up on the GPS screen that no one could use the clubhouse (no 19th hole) after the round, since they had an event. 4) Bev cart also closed early. Had all of these things been explained up-front, we would have planned our afternoon accordingly.

I always play here when I visit. Both courses are excellent with good greens. Very nice restaurant/bar area outside & the service is pretty good. The staff is friendly. If I had any complaints it would be, that for the price youre paying in March, you shouldnt have to deal with maintenance crews all day. They are polite but it still interferes with play. We played both courses in one day & they were omnipresent......all day. I understand the work involved to maintain a course, but it could be planned much better. This was not an issue at any of the other courses we played in the PS area, & I remember dealing with this the last time @ DW. Also, as long as youre going to have these guys out there, how about conditioning the bunkers? They are hard pan & dont appear to have been worked on for quite a while.

We played the Firecliff course. Top notch course!!! Fairways were in perfect condition! It was so lush green out there! Greens were great too, not terribly slow and not blazing fast. They said it was difficult, but actually shot low. Would have had my best score if I didnt kill myself on 2 holes. I was hitting it straight all day though. Fairways are wide open. Id say its forgiving. A couple dog legs. There are a lot of hills, traps and water hazards, bit o was lucky not to get in many of them. Im definitely coming back to try Mountain View.

We have been to this restaurant before and we were looking forward to coming back. Im giving two stars because the view is amazing, the food presentation is excellent, and the food tasted fantastic. The issue today, one member in our party is diabetic, one elderly. We were hungry. We waited over an hour for our food and it was over a half an hour for our order to be taken. The restaurant was not overly busy.

Ive had a few lessons with Jason W and I could not be more impressed with this place. Everyone I encountered was very nice and helpful. The lesson was awesome. He quickly identified my problems and fixed them. He gave me a plan moving forward of things to work on so the lesson would continue to help me. It was a great experience and I would go there again for lessons. I highly recommend this place!

The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They had a military appreciation rate that I wasnt aware of which cut the green fee in half. The course is well maintained, ground crew were everywhere working on the course. The greens were somewhat slow and soft. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area. It has challenging shots, risk/reward situations.

Beautiful view at the restaurant but do not eat there. Ordered breakfast of hash brown, bacon and eggs. The has browns were so burnt and the eggs were not how we ordered, the english muffins were old.. Have tried eating here several times because we like the beautiful atmosphere but have given up no more! No wonder its always empty.

This Course was in excellent shape for summer golf in a desert! Receptive greens , lush fairways and plenty of shade!!! I cant wait to play this in season.... everyone in our group loved both layouts... I should have taken photos. I will the next time I play which will be soon.

The Mountainview course was magnificent! And quite the relief after the playing on the Stadium Course at PGA West yesterday! Playable while still being a bit of a challenge. Outstanding conditions!

We had a great experience at this golf course. Considering our group of 16 people, the staff did a great job hosting our event. I will definitely go back from California just to play there.

Excellent example of a golf club (2 courses) that landscapes well in a desert setting. Very professional staff, excellent restaurant patio. My "go to" courses in the valley.

Would be five if the Mountain course was in better shape but for the $$ it is amazing. Both courses are fun to play and the food is really good too.
