Green oasis in the concrete jungle. LA needs lot more of these to make it green. I see people playing socket in the afternoons, evenings and weekends. Nice to people hanging out in the park. Food trucks come here regularly to attract more crowds. That said, If this has to be the Central park of downtown LA, it needs more space and better facilities. One problem is, they are trying to make it everything for everybody. Is it a park or a play ground or events place? Why not add the empty lot next to it? (It has more space vertically - runs up the stairs across Broadway, hill, hop streets, but larger space across will help too). This park needs more tree linings to create better shaded areas for people to during hot summer. And it needs better facilities. Why not allow small food vendors to sell there, so people traffic is always there? A nice coffee shop or restaurant in the empty lot next to it may be useful. May be even a LA souvenir shop??

Grand Park is a really nice change of pace within the bustling rush of Downtown Los Angeles. Its a huge park that spans multiple blocks, rising up from LAs City Hall to the Performance Arts facilities at the top. There is a lot of space to relax, picnic with friends, and enjoy the sun. Probably most notable are the bunches of pink chairs and tables. There is a giant fountain at the most-western part of the park, with floor fountains where you see families bring their kids to run around and play in the water. The park also has a small WWII memorial that salutes soldiers and veterans, and has a small cherry blossom grove donated by those at Little Tokyo. TIP: If you go into the City Hall, and take the elevators up to the 27th floor, you can walk out onto the balcony and see the park in its entirety.

The generally hospitable weather makes the shortage of outdoor gathering places in Los Angeles particularly irritating. Grand Park opened several years ago and has proved to be a welcoming oasis in the middle of the civic center. The eastern-most segment of the park, between Spring and Broadway, used to be a parking lot for the Criminal Courts building, a stereotypical LA use of open space. But contrary to Joni Mitchell, they took up the pavement and made--well, not paradise exactly, but--a well designed open space. From the wading fountain and Starbucks on the west end to City Hall on the east, there are spaces for picnicking, performances, sitting, walking, and watching the people of LA. Kudos to the people who decided on movable furniture, and for figuring out how to put City Hall on display.

Grand Park is now home to downtown Los Angeles hottest events (free and ticketed) and activities. This space is used for a common lunch area during the week for jury duty patrons, attorneys and litigators as it sits right next to the Stanley Mosk Courthouse. Conveniently, theres a Starbucks located in the park as you walk up towards Grand Ave. I love the hot pink chairs and tables. It makes the space stand out. Throughout the week, they have various events happening whether it be concerts, outdoor boot camp classes or a farmers market. Its worthwhile to check out their calendar to see whats up and coming. During the holidays, they have big, free events that includes music performances. Ive come to this park for all types of events. 4th of July is guaranteed a great party!

This place is green, this place is blue, and it has a Starbucks. Pretty much something for everyone. The only down side might potentially be parking but I parked elsewhere and walked to the park on my visit. The big beauty of this park in my opinion is the huge fountain. The day I visited there was a wedding being held here so you can already imagine from that how picturesque this location is, but dont imagine it, just look at some photos or better yet just go visit. People play in the waters too, mainly children but Im sure everyones welcome. If you want to stay out of the sun there are plenty of shaded areas plus a starbucks right in the middle of the park if youre in need of some cold beverages.

Grand Park is a melting pot hotspot setting for locals and visitors alike. Set in a botanically diverse and culturally rich environment, spanning 3 blocks, Grand Park in DTLA is the backdrop to the metropolitan area civic center, seasonal and special events, a people-watching pedestrian destination, and a meetup location for fitness groups, entertainment industry filming, conferences, families of young children (for the walk-in splashing fountain attraction, especially on weekend mornings), and its a popular refuge for locals who color the landscape and use the valuable resources of publicly available power outlets and public restrooms - a rare offering in a place like downtown LA.

Grand Park is a nice place to hang out but the real problem arises in the younger community playing in the area. We brought our nephew here a few weeks ago, perhaps 5 times within two weeks, and he contracted ringworm. Grand Park needs to do I better job of keeping its cleanliness. I brought my nephew here so that he can have fun and play, and now he is sick and under medication for the next four to five weeks. I am very disappointed in the cleanliness administration of this park and something needs to be done about it. The ringworm could not have been contracted elsewhere and is found in the water fountain area where the kids play. Families please keep this in mind.

Probably the most well planned park Ive ever been. Beautiful landscaping. There is an enclosed area for dogs. There are also drinking water fountains made specially for dogs in the enclosed dog area. There is also a huge gorgeous water fountain with a wading area... kids love playing in the water. There is a full service Starbucks right next to the fountain with an abundance of outdoor seating. Grand Park has free Wi-Fi. There is also a playground for kids. Restrooms located throughout and its easy to get to either by train which lets you off inside the park literally or by bus.

Grand Park in Downtown Los Angeles has come a long way from being a place people completely avoided to a place people love to gather in. The fountain and splash pad have become a landmark on their own. The pink tables and benches just beckon at you to come and take a seat. The big green events lawn in front of L.A. City Hall hosts a wide variety of community events. Be sure to visit Grand Park during the holiday season. All the beautiful lights, christmas trees, and holiday decorations add a magical sparkle that make visiting this park even more memorable.

The Grand Park is a fantastic place for all occasions. It is a venue that is central to all of Downtown Los Angeles and one of the easiest places to get to by the Metro rail line. Without having to worry about parking fees and the traffic feel free to spend your whole day in Downtown with the Grand Park being your anchor destination. You are easy walking distance to the Grand Central Market, The Broad Museum, MOCA and a wealth of places to eat. Sign up on their website and stay in tune the many events and free concerts that are regularly held at the site

In recent years Ive frequented Grand Park. Train station at the base of the park, fountains, benches, a Starbucks, and the occasional festivals and concerts...great local place to unwind or exercise. Most of the park is at a slight incline, yet the wheelchair accessibility is designed very well for comfort for everyone. If you want a reasonably priced alcoholic drink nearby, the highest point of this park is across the street from the Music Centers mezzanine bar. If there is anything happening at the center that day (most days) the bar will be open.
