Of the 10 wineries we visited on our trip to Sonoma this fall, Arista stood out as the hands-down favorite amongst a varied group of 6 people. Impressive, eh? STAFF: 5 stars. On arriving, a staffer happily welcomed us. He told us that our scheduled tasting would start on time in a few minutes and while waiting for us to walk around and enjoy the Japanese tea garden. Our host and his intern were stellar, hanging with our raucous personalities yet still being very professional and courteous. He explained each wine without being snobbish or condescending. As we approached closing time, another staff member every-so-kindly approached us to tell us "While you cant stay here, you dont have to go home." Yes, we know, time to leave. Thanks for a stellar wine tasting experience. FACILITY: 5 stars. We had a private tasting in a small gazebo out back. The woodwork was phenomenal. The Japanese tea garden landscaping breathtaking. This was the only winery that made us feel comfortable enough to stay and enjoy another bottle of wine on site. WINE: 5 stars. Every bottle was great. Some were greater than others. In the end, we bought several bottles to cellar and perhaps a few to drink sooner. I drank what is (in my opinion) THE BEST Pinot Noir that has every touched my lips. It was a near-religious experience. Phenomenal.

This was our last stop on our wine country day, and we regretted not scheduling it earlier in the day to spend more time here. It was such a lovely, laid-back setting. The tasting had 5 wines and we ended up sampling about 7-8. Our tasting fee was waived when we bought a bottle. I believe theyre known for their Pinot Noir, and unlike other tastings wed had, the range of diversity in the different Pinots was impressive - and Im a total novice when it comes to wine. Pet-friendly and theres a little lawn with chairs that we lounged in with the other half-dozen visitors. A very idyllic experience and I plan on going back.

This was the best tour of any vineyard I have visited. The staff really treated us like family and gave us an inside look at how their vineyards are run and how their wine is made. The more questions we asked, the more Jeff, our tour guide, liked it. He was a phenomenal guide, very knowledgeable, funny, and engaging. If you go, do yourself a favor and take a picnic lunch to enjoy on the property. They even did a pouring for us as we ate our picnic. Trust me on this: take a pass on the big, commercial wineries and visit Arista. And make sure you request Jeff as your guide!

Wow, this was the best experience we had while in Sonoma. We buy wine that is between $30-70. This place had excellent pinos and zins. No wine club here.. Plan to get on the list and you can buy in several months. This was some of the greatest wine Ive tried thus far. Dave was, by far, the most educative and happy individual weve encountered thus far. Only do tastings with him. EXCELLENT!!

I love this place lots of nice spots to sit outside. Very popular, so much they will start to require appointments for visits. I guess it will allow them to keep the experience for patrons more intimate. The wines are great! All in all just wonderful. Wish i could visit more often than I am able. If you stop by plan to make appointments starting 2017 and take a picnic basket.

The facilities at Arista are beautiful, and many people choose to have their wedding their. The tasting room is small, but works efficiently. The prices for the tasting and the wines are on the higher end — but worth it. Not pretentious in their presentation or pricing, they just have a good produce and know what its worth.

This winery is amazing. If you have the chance you have to do the 6 course food pairing meal up on top of the hill, do it!!. The chef there lets you pick fruits and veggies from the garden which he prepares for you in your meal. The setting was just beautiful as well.

Dave has extensive knowledge of their products and is very friendly and well spoken. Dog friendly of course! Most important is the outstanding quality of the wine. This is a must do winery at any cost. The price point is well below the quality and value of the wine.

Beautiful setting, very friendly staff, nice dog, and great wines. Almost passed on the tasting because it has two of my least favorite white wines. But the Gewertstraminer was dry and crisp and the Chardonnay was not the least bit oaky. Really excellent experience.
