Let me advise you not to take your well-behaved children into this store!! Find a babysitter if you must go.
I have four children, 2 to 7, and yes, I was there to actually browse so I can make purchases in the future (not just an outing for my kids to get outta the house), as my husband and I are interested in starting a planted tank. I drove 50 minutes, one way, to get to the store. Today, Wednesday around noon, was my 2nd visit to the store. I went in, with my mom, and my 4 children (so 2 adults to watch 4 kids, good ratio). Roy (the employee I saw there - no name tag but when I asked him to write his name on a business card, that is what he wrote) didnt say HI or smile, I was the one to say hi to him, as I entered with my family. Instead of answering my HI, he said, "Make sure they (while he looked at my kids) dont poke the fish or hit the glass/tanks." I said, "Yes, I know, Ill do the best I can. Ill be all over them not to touch the glass." He said, "I know it is hard."
There was only one other customer in there, that I saw, and Roy. Roy was feeding the fish in the saltwater tanks. Therefore, it was like he followed us around the whole 10 minutes (if that) we were there.
I was constantly telling my kids, dont touch the glass (and all they were doing was pointing lightly to fish they liked, showing their grandma, who was with us, but I still constantly said dont touch) and dont lean or hang on the wood around the tanks. They were doing very well.
Well, only 3rd row into the salt water tanks, Roy all of a sudden yells at my 7 year old, "Dont do that!" I was only two feet away, looked at my son and said, "Did you hit the glass?" NO "What did you do?" I dont know.
Roy zips back, after darting away after yelling at my son, and I said what did he do?
Roy shows me with his hands, like a doggy paddle (swimming) motion in front of him, "He was doing this to the fish." (Funny how when he shows me, he goes up to the tank and did it....would he do that if it was so detrimental to the fish?)
It was a medium sized saltwater tank with mainly two yellow fish in it (no other fish, there may have been snails or something else tiny). I had looked at it only a few minutes earlier, and these two yellow fish were playing behind a large live rock, back n forth, back n forth behind this rock. They were swimming at the back of the tank, at the left side. Not even at the front of the tank. The tank was in the bottom row, perfect for child viewing (I had to bend a bit to see the fish).
I said, "Oh my gosh, you got to be kidding. So we cant touch the glass and we cant move our arms, hands, nothing?" He just shrugged.
Really? Was he kidding? What is the problem....if the fish arent good around movement and lots of people, maybe they shouldnt be in fish tanks in a store environment where lots of people will come (our first visit to the store was on a weekend and there were a lot of people, lots of movement in front of the fish tanks!).
We left. He clearly didnt want us there.
If they dont want kids in the store, then they need a big sign on their website and on their store door saying NO KIDS (not just the sign on their door that says no camera, no food, no drinks, supervise children, etc). And they certainly should not yell at children when the parent is two feet away....Roy should have told me all the ways my children could not move their hands, arms, and bodies around the fish tanks, and then I could instruct them myself.

This company first nearly killed our fish on a home maintenance visit. The tank was new at the time so gave the guy opportunities to correct the problem. When all fish about died at the last paid (1x a month) service we ended the service. A year and a half later (now) the tank had been moved from my home to my granddaughters home because they named and loved the fish. The owner Mike at this company informed us the guy who nearly killed (if not for our own intervention) our fish was operating in a manner that was against company policy and was killing customers fish, claimed he was a "novice," thus, was fired. The owner of this place...paid him $150 to change the filter and clean the tank and succeeded in KILLING our fish unlike his employee!!! DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE TO CARE FOR YOUR TANK/FISH!!!! JUST BROKE MY GRANDDAUGHTERS HEARTS WAKING UP TO THEIR "FISHIES" THAT WE HAVE HAD FOR A YR AND A HALF in the tank DEAD!!!! Aquatouch served up the harsh reality of what death is to my 2 and 3yr old grand-babies!

I must say the store overall is awesome. There is a wide selection of both salt and fresh water fish. I would really have to say this store needs a customer service overhaul. I entered the store with no greet and the sad part was I walked right past an employee filling water jugs for someone right by the entrance. If me I would of at least said hello. I browsed the store in the saltwater section a few times. I even past another employee explaining the difficulties of caring for sea horses. I then proceeded to look like I was interested in buying something but got no acknowledgment. Finally I made my way to fresh water but by that time I was done with the store. As an owner I would really look who is working and maybe coach them on a thing called customer service. I was going to spend but with no help, I have to take business else where.

This shop is amazing! Its clean, surrounded by all that water, and you cant even smell it! And the staff are friendly and very helpful. The one thing I like best about them is that they try to talk you out of purchasing animals if they dont think that your system can sustain a good life for the fish you want to purchase. Every time I have gone into the store, I have had people willing to help and to answer my questions. They do not consider any system to small for them to find a life for it. They also do not push anything on you, so if you are just standing there expecting someone to offer to get you a fish, you may want to let them know thats your intent. I think this shop is one of the best Ive ever seen. Going back next weekend in fact =)

Absolutely an oasis in Phoenix for any aquarium hobbyist. Their specialties are planted freshwater aquaria and marine aquaria. Every freshwater aquarium is a living work of art. I honestly believe this shop is Phoenixs must underpraised and underappreciated retail establishment. I had read of shops in Germany with fantastic planted fish tanks but little did i know that I had been missing a treasure in my own back yard. The folks that work there are amazingly knowledgeable. Usually I know more than most of the people that work at aquariums stores - not so here. And NO - I dont know these folks and am not related to them. I just found this gem last year by happy accident.
