First time coming here and first impression was a poor one...I get there and "box office" to buy the tickets is a guy at a small stand taking money, EXCEPT IT WAS LOCATED AFTER THE SECURITY CHECKPOINT....think about the logic here guys, every other sensible venue allows for people to access the ticket booth before they cross the security checkpoint for BOTH their convenience and that of the venue to know if and when it reaches capacity and cant let in any more people....initially security was allowing people without tickets in until the manager told him to stop doing that, so already a lack of communication, then a line was formed for people without tickets, which I was in, and we were all forced to wait while everyone with tickets went past us and into the venue, making us all nervous that capacity might be reached before we might have a chance to get in ourselves....total lack of communication when the people working there started breaking their own rules by letting people in who didnt have tickets under the promise that those people would claim their ticket from Will Call, give it to the one in their group who didnt have a ticket and then come out again to stand in the line we were in....OBVIOUSLY THOSE PEOPLE WERE JUST BEING CLEVER AND WERE NEVER GONNA COME AND STAND OUTSIDE AGAIN, THEY WOULD JUST GO IN AND BUY A TICKET FROM THE OTHER GUY SINCE HE HAD NO IDEA WHAT THEIR TRICK WAS DUE TO THE LACK OF COMMUNICATION. By doing that and actually letting people in to buy tickets who didnt have any, it created the potential for capacity to be reached before the people with already paid for tickets to get in, and what would they have done then!?!? It is unbelievable that there is a venue which 1 doesnt know how many tickets theyve sold and 2 sells tickets after the security checkpoint without communicating with its employees what the process is......you guys host plenty of bands that play at other venues, start acting like one yourselves

I got my husband VIP tickets to see Talib Kweli as a Fathers Day gift. There was suppose to be an artist meet and greet prior to the start of the show. Fans arrived early and were lined up for the meet and greet only to be told that it was rescheduled for after the show. The show commenced at around 8:30 pm. Talib didnt show up until 12:30 am. It was so hot inside the venue that it was almost intolerable, but the fans hung in there for 4 hours to watch Talib perform for 1 hour. VIP ticket holders then lined up again for the artist meet and greet only to be told that Talib had left the venue because he was sick and would not be doing the meet and greet. Parital refunds were issued and fans were sent on their merry way. This was a huge disappointment and I will never spend money on another Talib cd or performance etc... Talib you conducted yourself unprofessionally and you lost a fan base here in Arizona. You should have addressed your fans personally to let them know that you were sick (if you were really sick) and you should have apologized for being so late and for not being able to do the meet and greet. Perhaps if you conducted yourself in a more professional manner then you would be able to book larger venues than Club Red. Additionally, Club Red what was the deal with the air conditioning? It was so hot that people were actually considering leaving because they could not tolerate the heat. When you have to go outside in 110 degree weather to get some relief...something is seriously wrong. Please invest in a better ac system or some fans! Last but not least, do not ever book Talib Kweli again. What a huge disappointment!

Well I will say despite the cluttered stage and the leaking ceiling that night the sound quality for the punk rock show was very good. There was also a nice pit for pogoing front and center of stage. Also another compliment goes to security who was a little more laid-back which was nice and didnt in the way of the kids trying to have a good time. The only negative I saw was they tried to split us up because there was two shows that night and the conduluded how to separate the lines in overdid it. First they separated the punk rockers from the Metal Show because there was two different shows going on which was fine but then they separated again the punk rock fans coming to the show into the two separate acts for The Ataris and the queers which shouldnt have been because they were both the same show. This confused everybody in line. They do need to get their acts together about that. The other problem I had was the bar. Run of the mill beers like Bud ran about 4 bucks and premium beers or craft beers like Kilt lifter ran 6 bucks a beer which is a little pricey for my taste. And the other alcohol selection is rather limited . Not even to mention that if you use a debit or credit card you have to spend 10 bucks according to House Rules in order to use that debit or credit card so beware of that. Other than that not bad for a dive bar

Ive been here before it was called Club Red, to see Kittie and Straight Line Stitch in 2009. My sister and I went to see Otep last night and we both really enjoyed the intimacy of the venue. The security on staff were watchful but didnt butt in to everything, such as they do at large venues. The bar is a nice touch, albeit the prices. I recommend asking for lite ice or no ice on those cocktails because a skinny girl like me should feel buzzed on a Makers Mark and Coke, just sayin. Be sure to give a tip for a job well done. Also, the gender-normative bathroom were surprisingly clean and well-stocked. Id suggest a unisex bathroom, although I can only imagine just how much controversy and security issues that would cause! This place would be more of a hit in my book if theyd extend the "patio" beyond the sidewalk, simply for the fact that not everyone wants to be stuck around cigarette smoke, unable to escape. There isnt much room to mingle without feeling like youre all up in everyones convo & biznass. That being said, the sidewalk section is a step-up from lining up at the door as if youre waiting for uniform school to start. The dudes at the door were friendly and helpful. A nice final touch, which is just my own preference, would be to give the option of a printed ticket at the door.

terrible place. went to a show that was advertised to start at six. go in and find out show does not start untill ten thirty. the room the show is in is a concrete prision with no seating, i try to leave a few minutes after entering to go relax in a comfortable setting to pass the four and a half hours untill the show begins. i am told im not alowed to leave and if i do im not allowed back in and would not be allowed back in even buy a new ticket. i spend next four hours sitting outside the club secondhand smoking as this is the only place with chairs to sit down. I watch a youth trying to get an autograph get threatened by security and told not to ever come around again because he cannot afford the twenty-five dollar cover charge and therefore has no right to try to obtain an autograph from public propery outside of the club. I felt very disrepected from the majority of the staff and found there conduct to the public in and outside of the club to be very disrespectful. make sure that if you are going to go to club red that you know someone who works there as the rules for the majority of the public do not apply to the staff or there friends and then hopefully you will be able to be treated like a human being.
