Terrible, dirty, & unorganized. Took daughter & her friend for TLG 2016. They enjoyed themselves seeing the kids in the act- (was the main good thing.) As one of the few parents, about 80% of the floor space was open - should have provided some chairs (would have only needed about 15 for adults). Im sitting against the wall on very nasty stained carpet. Id stand & lean against the wall but weve been standing outside for over 2.5 hours waiting to get let in. Consider a mist system for where you make people line up - its phoenix in July... Probably could have sold a lot of water outside! Have it available in excess quantities! Guy came out a couple times giving out a few bottles & apologizing for the wait to get in - said he only had a few bottles - what!? (I think the venue holds about 1100 & im guessing about 200 people were there.) No order on line outside - kids kept rushing the line to try and see one of the acts peeking out of the alley entrance - to be expected with 14 year olds but could have been kept in order better with ropes or lines like the movies use. My experience & perspective here, not one to go to concerts. Could have been so much better. Was humid inside - ceiling fans not enough to make it comfortable. Disappointing. Easy to get stuck on the bad stuff, but to be fair, i thought the lighting was good. Not too dark, not too bright. Sound system was good.

I really appreciate the open venue to all the different types of music here in the valley and abroad. One thing about this place that really blows is the sound and the heat in the venue. This place really needs some acoustic treatment and sum decent air conditioning. Now the shitty sound is not all to blame on the sound engineers. The brick walls reflect all that sound that is blasting off the stage and is bouncing all over the place. Invest in sum acoustic pads and curtains at least. Last time my band played here I was drenched in sweat from head to toe. Now sure that looks cool, but think of the paying fans that have to sit through shitty sound and muggy conditions. Really makes the vibe of the show less appealing. Although the place is perfect for a show space wise, some additional reinforcements need to be made. Also the area for the 21 and over crowd could move closer to the stage about 20 more feet with some tables and bar stools. This venue has the potential to be one of the best venues in the valley with these modifications in mind.

I have been to the Nile one time and would never return! Not if my life depended on it! The security manager is verbally abusive and slanderous. As the girlfriend of the deejay throwing the event; I told the security manager that the other deejays fiance already received a reentry stamp. at which point he snapped on me. He yelled in my face right in front of everyone; Are you a retard? ARE you retarded? you dont know what youre talking about? Mind your business! are you retarded?" ...and then after kicking me out he followed me around the corner to the bench i was crying at, to continue the abuse and then question my parenting skills!? As if that would ever be in question? Well no... Nile theater, I am not mentally challenged. but i am now suffering the damages and embarrassment of being publicly defamed by your staff. I have never been treated with such blatant, heartless disrespect. He is an awful representation of the "safety" of your establishment!! Not to mention that the actual venue smells like sweat and feet.

Played upstairs tonight and even with all the rain, weird obstacles in the hallway blocking bands from getting in and out, and myself and band mates exhausted we had a great time and really enjoyed this place. The soundman was a saint and even went and got the band water. The sound check had to be quick so not much monitor to help but we knew things were sounding good by the crowed reactions. I really don’t know what it is about this place but I think it’s the staff. If anyone has problems with any of the security personnel it could only be their own fault because all of them are great and do a good job. Very cool place for bands to play and to see a good show. I hope to play there again. Thanks to all from Riot Gear!! By the way the room temperature was perfect and they had plenty of fans and ceiling fans. The lady at the ticket counter was very cool as everyone in the place and what a great bunch of people in the crowed.

Ah, Nile...How fondly I remember thee. Late nights waiting for alcohol sales to stop so my 18yr old self could enter the goth club. I made a few friends, danced, pranced and generally loved it. Fast forward 20 years later (dear god...has it been 20 bloody years!?!?) and my husband and I just caught the second PHX Wrestling event at this venue. It was fantastic! Security was friendly, the venue worked well for the event, they have a little bar and they made room for a local vendor to serve food (Queens Pizza nearby had slices and co-sponsored the event with Mikes HardER lemonades). It was so much fun and we will be back for the next one in November. Be sure to arrive early enough to park behind the venue. Otherwise, parking can be annoying.

Theres always gonna be a special place in my heart for The Nile lol. Ive seen some of my favorite bands there as well as discovered new locals. One of my old bands played at the main stage and we didnt have any issues with sound or anything (*cough* unlike Joes Grotto) Its a relatively small-medium sized venue, but its pretty roomy. Theres a bar that also has water and theres AC inside which is nice, compared to The Underground because it gets HOT AF downstairs. The staff are pretty cool and the restrooms are okay for a venue. I havent been there recently so I dont know if theyve made any changes but if you get a chance to go to a show there, youll have a good time.

Either this venue needs a new sound guy, or a new PA system. Holy hell, my ears were ringing for 3 days straight after seeing Thy Art is Murder and Born of Osiris. Seriously, it was all just white noise. You could hardly hear anything remotely clear. Even one of the opening bands complained about levels and the sound guy said "Yeah, just sing louder". Had a decent time regardless, the guy selling water was nice, and the ladies at the ticket counter were cool.

Anyone complaining about the sound system must be an audio snob. I went to see Pierce The Veil at the Nile last week and couldnt have been rocked any harder. Great place to see a show. The venue is so intimate that there really isnt a bad place to stand and still be able to see the performance up close. And dont worry about the location, downtown Mesa is really nice; art galleries and restaurants line the streets and the light rail runs right by the Nile.

The Shlum Shlums are a local AZ Alternative Grunge band thats played here a good few times. We had our CD Release show in the underground beneath the Nile. Also kinda cool cause instead of going through the door and into the Nile. You get to go down some stairs to a second venue. I think its sick. Our next show to date is April 28th at the Nile! Hit us up on Facebook, Youtube, and Myspace!!
