If you are looking for the 50 and over crowd, this is the place for you. The views off of the second story are pretty good, however this place seemed kinda meh aside from that. This seemed like a place where the older crowd went with their group of friends to have a few too many glasses of wine and be as loud as possible. I assumed that this would be a nice quiet place to have dinner with my significant other, but we couldnt hold a conversation without shouting over the numerous large groups of boistrous quinquagenarians. I suppose that might be a positive for some people, but I would really prefer to drink with my friends somewhere where drinks arent quite so overpriced. The food here was also highly overpriced, not creative/original, and not very flavorful. It was like eating at an expensive stuffy version of basic diner food. Think about the last diner you stopped at on the side of an interstate (I83 is one stoplight away), its basically that quality at twice the price. The specials were both already normal menu items.... I mean, doesnt that kind of defeat the purpose of a special? It seemed like this place has had the same patrons for 10-20 years, they come there every week, they order the exact same thing, and therefore the restaurant has very little interest in changing anything up. I guess they dont want new customers.

I called the Eagles Nest a week or so ago to make a reservation for a very special occasion...I met my girlfriend 2 1/2 years ago and our 1st date was dinner at the Eagles Nest, so I asked if I could reserve the exact same table. I planned to propose to her that night. I called several times after making the reservation, including an hour before our arrival, and they assured me every single time that our special table would be ready. When we arrive, we find there is another couple at our table. When I question what happened, the hostess simply says...Im sorry. The Manager made ZERO effort to rectify the situation and simply said...sorry again. They could have compd us some drinks, appetizer, dessert...whatever, to try to make the situation a bit better....THEY DID NOTHING !! I have been a very loyal customer of the Eagles Nest for over 20 years, and these new owners WILL NEVER have my business AGAIN ! What a pathetic excuse for customer service !!

We were there last night for dinner. Our waitress was very nice, I guess the only good thing they have. First off, my wife ordered a piña colada which tasted like water and sugar (absolutely disgusting), when it was time to order food she ordered a NY strip with fries and cole slaw. Her cole slaw tasted bitter and had a rotten scent with no flavor. The waitress offered other sides and she got a salad. She ordered her steak medium well and it was completely pink and very charred in the outside. I ordered the filet mignon with the crab cake and my filet mignon was burnt completely. Together we spent about 70 bucks and the only thing that was tasty was my crab cake. Dont go there, is a waste of money and you can get excellent steak else where for cheaper. Never going there again!

Food and service were extremely disappointing. The waitress had two tables, was extremely slow, forgot a wine order, a side dish, and spilled french dressing on me and offered no apology. She continued to blame everyone besides herself working in the restaurant and had a terrible attitude. The neighboring table offered service complaints as well, saying there were things added to their bill that they never ordered. The meat that was ordered medium rare was extremely overcooked and dry. Overall it was an extreme disappointment and my family and I will not be returning. I would highly suggest that our young lady servers position will be reconsidered for future guests.

Dont waste your money ! Terrible. We give it one star at the very most. They apparently, do NOT know what the meaning of a reservation is. Made reservations for husbands birthday & told them I wanted a window seat. They honored neither of those requests. Then it took over one hour just to get our food. Service was spotty at best. The server never did ask my husband if he wanted another drink (as he only had one the whole night). Not enough parking and had to make our own "space". Just overall bad !!!! Overpriced drinks, overpriced Entrees and overpriced sides. Yes, sides were extra. Terrible !

Service was solid. Atmosphere is very nice with scenic views. The food is okay but extremely overpriced considering the quality and presentation. Most notably the stuffed flounder ($25) was bland. A side of broccoli was a whole head of broccoli that was lightly steamed and not seasoned at all. Shrimp cocktail was not in a cocktail glass,It was on a platter. When I asked for a side of French dressing, there was hair attached to the plate. Finally our table had crumbs beneath it . Ive been to this restaurant many times however my most recent experiences have been sub par.

Husband had made reservations for Valentines dinner, but the parking lot was completely filled. We spent roughly 15 minutes circling the parking lot, and nearly getting into an accident when we had to back up due to a car that was poorly parked and blocking us from driving through a portion of the lot. By the time we had given up finding a spot our reserved time had gone by, no one even bothered to call us despite taking our phone number. We had to pick a different restaurant last minute on Valentines Day, which is extremely difficult unless youre looking for fast food.

I went to the Eagles Nest on Sat 12/5/2015. When I arrived for my reservation, my table was ready right where I asked; downstairs, by the window. My server Eli was excellent; he explained the soup of the day and suggested appetizers, drinks, and desserts. The timing of all the food being brought to our able was perfect. Our meals were absolutely delicious. I ordered the seafood combo #1 and my girlfriend ordered the filet mignon; both cooked to perfection. I would rate this experience a 10 out of 10 for both the service and the quality of the food.

Order steak med well and get strait up rare. Not enough staff to send back I can eat medium but not full blown rare. Wife got crab cake and it was also undercooked mush in the middle. Ok atmosphere. Staff was relatively concerned when they find out we were so disatisfied which is good but you dont go to resturants to get service thats the roof the food is foundation. Hhad similar experince here almost 20 years ago. Must be the same owners.

There were 5 of us for dinner last Fri. evening, I got the New York Strip med. well and it was, it is usually to done or to rare, this one was perfect, the best piece of steak I ever had, as was the baked potato perfectly prepared, everyone agreed their dinners were just great, this was our second trip, and Im sure it wont be the last. We are from Forest Hill Md, well worth the ride. We just love this place. The service was excellent.

Tom Crandall: This is the finest place to dine in York. The cuisine is out of the ordinary - fish, meat, everything. Service is swift and very polite. Yes, its a little bit higher priced, but, one gets every penneys worth. Also, the drinks are truly delicious - be careful, because they are not watered down! Atmosphere - what a view of York from your dinner table. Give it a try. You will not be disappointed.
