Beautiful large casino with horse racing track. There are smoking and non-smoking areas with plenty of machines in both. Lots of table games available in smoking area. Very helpful staff, security, and bartenders. Complimentary Light Lager Yuengling or soda while playing. Well kept large bathrooms throughout the casino. Handy free shuttle to and from certain local hotels. Very good sit down restaurants or food court type restaurants to choose from. Race track is very nice. It is considered a family friendly track, as though it is attached to the casino, it is considered separate. Food and bar located in this area. However, smoking is still allowed inside this section, and when busy, it can get very smoky. Not ideal for children. Outside is nice, however, with plenty of indoor and outdoor track seating. You are able to get very close to the track, warm-up area, and winners circle which is very nice. Would definitely go back.

My husband and I went with another couple. Worst experience ever. Smoking including the so called non smoking area was the worst ever. People were lighting up in the nonsmoking area and to get to the nonsmoking area you have to walk through all the smoking area. The slot machines were not as good as the ones in the smoking area. Its like you are penalized for being a nonsmoker. Even though we now are residents of Charles Town (5 weeks) we were travel to other casinos (Maryland Live, Delaware) who are non smoking. This casino needs to get with the program and have smoking areas outside. We were all miserable and had to leave due to sinus and stinging eyes. The casino itself is not bad at all and we would have stayed a lot longer had it not been for the smoking. Second hand smoking kills people.

Went there for the first time ever last night and wasnt that impressed by it. Only ever been to the Hollywood in Pa and thought I would check this one out. They dont take care of the people who are a higher tier like I thought they would. Also wasnt able to order drinks right from the slot machine . Big inconvenience !!! It seemed a little outdated and needs some work and wasnt as clean as Im used to from the other casino. The slots seemed tight for the amount I was playing . The buttons didnt work properly on some of the machines either. With some attention to detail and some upgrading this casino can do better to please more of their customers.

Idiot pit boss talks to the table boss; causes bets to be missed and holding up the game until they figure it out... and guess what? After they stop the game to figure it out, youre going out. Instead of watching pants they ought to watch the game. Pit boss yells out: "redskins are not going to playoffs" while the shooter is shooting. You place a lay bet while a point is established and instead of putting a lay chip on it they call security and say we are only going to pay you your odds. Too many Indians and not enough good chiefs. Never going back here again... stay away... youve been warned

Stopped in with 4 guys on a golf trip to play some craps and found only one table open . Waited and looked around 30 - 40 min and two guys finally went to the poker room because the table was still completely full so I asked the manager if there was another table open because we could not get an open spot and he said we would have to wait for an opening probably something would open up in an hour or so. No kidding thats what he said. "an hour" while watching us and others begging to play so I left

I have loved coming here for decades. But last night I won big on my first go, and so they were following me on cameras to make sure I gave all the money back quickly. I didnt spend it back quickly enough for them. So they escorted us out, and a security guard even "accompanied" me to my hotel to make sure I didnt return to the casino. We werent drunk or disorderly at all. Poor service, poor staff. Im so disappointed.

Nick B. Security supervisor kicked a group of eight sober individuals out of the casino because he thought one of us couldnt handle our liquor. Its a sad sight to see eight adults stand around and wait for an uber (which is illlegal) to takes us home when all we wanted to do is have a relaxing time at the casino. I am so ashamed that nick b. Was our one and only connection to Hollywood casino.

If you are a slot gambler, this is not the place to go. The machines are extremely tight. So bad that you can easy place $300 in a penny/nicles/quarter/dollar machines and get nothing in return. On many trips I played at least 6 different machines at least $200 each, and got nothing in return, not even to have fun a for a little while. It seems that they turn the machines off too often.

This track is one of the few that allow you to get up close enough to get decent pictures. Theres a good view of the paddock and enough space to get around without bumping into people. I find the ticket agents to be helpful, too. Theres quite a variety of people there at track-side, if youre in to people watching. If you havent been to the Charles Town Races yet, you should check it out.

It was the most bad experience of my life been at that casino. I forgot my jacket and make a claim report with Mr Kevin He said was the managers supervisor and hell help me asking the surveillance department to check videos because they are really care about customers, but till now my jacket is still missing and they said nothing. Ive being in better places than this....

Nice casino.. Not great.. Just Nice.. VERY smokey, even for a casino with smoking. Decent amount of table games. I hate slots, but there were a TON of those to choose from. Food was very good (ate at 9 dragons). Service was a bit sub-par and the drinks were OUTRAGEOUSLY overpriced. This seems to be a common theme amount reviews... youve been warned.

Had a good time,thats why we went. The service was very nice. I like to smoke while I play. They have non-smoking sections though. We did not win everytime like some people are crying about...it is a casino not the welfare office ill give them my extra money anyday. If they increased the slot percentage that would be great.

Machines are terribly tight. Been there several different times and days they just suck in your money. Maryland live is so much better. Hopefully Emmitsburg Md. will get everything through and be able to give some competition to this place.

Ever since the other Maryland casinos have become popular their percentage of odds and rakes have become too much. Its unfortunate too because I used to like going here.... But, the staff is still friendly, atmosphere..... kind of boring.
