SECURITY WAS AWFUL. WOULDNT GO BACK IF THEY OFFERED A FREE ROOM. Never been treated so poorly in my life! My wife who is closer to 30 than 21 had an outdated license by just a month and she was treated like she was underage and trying the pull an Oceans 11 heist. We immediately talked to the head of security and hotel management and they cleared her for the whole weekend. However, that wasn’t enough! Every time we had to walk through the casino floor (only to get to the restaurants and one time to Gypsies bar) we were harassed. After the first problem we had (which was cleared up) a security guard walked into the restaurant got in my wife’s face and told her she was not 21, and that we needed to leave. After she showed him her stamped hand and that he needed to talk to his manager, he didn’t care and wanted nothing more than to throw us out. I only write reviews if I have had service that was that great or that awful. I have traveled all over the world, multiple casinos, and government buildings and never been treated so awful in my life. On night two, after we got stalked by security yet again (walking through the lobby, not near casino floor) we talked to the head manager on staff. All he kept telling me was about the strict PA State laws on casino and gaming and I completely understood (coming from a policy/legislative background in NJ). He was completely unable to comprehend that nowhere in the PA state laws and policies that security must treat people so poorly and have bad customer service. They have zero customer service skills including the head manager. I understand what is at stake for the resort/casino but there is always ways to handle people and situations, with class and understanding, which the staff lacked completely. I have never felt so uncomfortable while on vacation and they completely ruined it for me, my wife and the rest of the family there (all over 21). After this experience I went online and wasn’t surprised to see the same issues. I’ll never return to the resort again even if they offered a free room. I do not recommend Mt Airy Casino Resort to anyone purely based off of the awful experience and harassment of the security. It is a shame because it was a beautiful place with some decent people. The head of security was the only manager who showed us empathy and had enough brains to help us through the situation, but unfortunately the rest of the staff and the hotel manager was completely not understanding about what customer service means. I still am in shock we paid for that experience. NEVER AGAIN. Pros: Beautiful new resort, with a great indoor pool. The food at Guy Fieri’s restaurant was well priced and very delicious. Since it is the only place that is open most of the time we ate there on three different occasions. The service at Fieri’s was drastically inconsistent. We had great service one night and then awful service during the following morning.

SMOKE, SMOKE, SMOKE Mt. Airy is an unhealthy environment to be in for guests and for the working staff. No ventilation to get away from it. There is a room for high rollers that is completely open, WHY they dont enclose it with glass and doors is questionable, it is located in the non smoking area, cigar smoke, cigarette smoke. I wish I had brought a mask with me to deal with this. PARKING...I have handicap plates BUT I can never get a parking space because there are only 4 against the building near the entrance, STUPIDLY there are more at the top of the hill where the staff is outside smoking all the time. Then there is the climb up the uneven pathway to get to the handicap parking at the rear of the building AWAY from the entrance? AT LEAST LET THE HANDICAP PEOPLED USE THE REAR ENTRANCE THE STAFF USES. WHY DONT THEY HAVE THE WHOLE SIDE OF THE BUILDING HANDICAPED for convenience. I witnessed a printed out COPY of a handicap placard on the dashboard of a car, obviously parked illegally. The parking lot had huge potholes, why? You take in enough money to fix them. Other times when there is a concert of something going on outside, the first spaces that become UNAVAILABLE are the handicap spaces across from the casino. Shame on you Mt. Airy. No choices to eat any more, Bettys Diner is gone (big mistake). The bathrooms were dirty and the hand dryers not working??? We prefer the Sands, plenty of choices to eat, the outlet shopping and a much cleaner environment for non smokers. It will be a long time if ever we go back to MA. They are not health conscious of their guests and handicap guests. Who is responsible for putting all of those H parking spaces away from the entrance? Who is responsible for not offering a healthy safe environment for non smokers? Since restaurants are smoke free I hope someday they make casinos smoke free too and offer an enclosed sealed room so you smokers can kill each other. WHO DESIGNED THIS DUMP ANYWAY. NO PARKING GARAGE? Wont be going back, you have lost our business. LEGALLY, HOW DO YOU GET AWAY WITH THIS. Why does your non smoking staff work there? POOR MANAGEMENT, POOR DESIGN.. GO TO THE SANDS FOR A BETTER TIME, A CONVENIENT PARKING GARAGE, GOOD FOR BAD WEATHER VISITS AND PLENTY OF EATING CHOICES and the Outlet Shopping Mall. Dont bother complaining NO ONE AT MA CARES TO MAKE ANY CHANGES. READ THE OTHER YELP COMPLAINTS AND SEE HOW MANY COMPLAIN ABOUT THE SMOKE, I am not alone. If they lose business, MAYBE, they will change things.

My wife and I went Mount Airy Casino Resort for a night, even though we only live about an hour away and we arent big gamblers. The place was immaculate from the hotel to the casino to the restaurants. The hotel service was friendly and efficient. The room was well appointed with a great shower and all the amenities. It had a nice mini bar, but all I took from it was a $6 can of beer. The room service prices were pretty high, but not out of line for this type of establishment. Very reasonable at $99 a night. As I said before, we arent big gamblers, but we did play the slots for a few hours. It seems smaller than other casinos to which Ive been, but it wasnt bad at all. We broke even at the end, so at least we didnt lose any $. There is a weird looking bar in the middle of the casino floor. Its horrendously tacky. My wife and I did have to excellent martinis though for a total cost of $16. The buffet was nice for a buffet, it included peel and eat shrimp, ribs, Asian foods and fresh carved meats. Its the kind of place you take your parents to eat, but not your girlfriend. The food was better than adequate, but I wouldnt be in any hurry to go back again. We also had a late snack at Guy Fieris restaurant. I dont know anything about celebrity chefs, but Guy Fieri must be doing something right. The restaurant is nice with a bit of industrial flavor. The decor is a little on the manly side and is "resort casual". My wife had a bowl of chili and corn bread which she pronounced as excellent. I had a $15 plate of nachos that were, without exaggeration, the best nachos Ive ever eaten. The food was fresh, delicious and the service was great.
